This romance novel was great. I felt the characters were very realistic with what is going on in the world today. I enjoyed this read very much. Ms. Carter is a very talented Lady and I look forward to her next novel. Keep up the good work.

This book had so many issues, but Ms. Carter wove them together very well. The issue of Sickle Cell was the most profound. There are so many African Americans with this disease. I liked the way they explained exactly what the disease does to your body.

I loved the little girl Sandy. It seems she really loved her mother, eventhough she was not what we could say a "good one". I also enjoyed Cassie and her friend. Her friend learned a good lesson about beauty being in the eye of the beholder.

This was a wonderful love story, that I think you will enjoy.

I felt this was a good first effort by Ms. Carter..she was pretty straight to the point and the characters were realistic. Author has a concise writing style that moves you quickly from one page to the next. The characters were well developed and believable not too far in the clouds to understand or get a mental picture of what they were actually speaking about....overall good content...a must read for all of you romantics out there!

Picture Perfect is the perfect example of how the right words hooked up just right can tell a touching story. There were parts that made me glad, a little sad, and then happy all over again, at the same time sharing some knowledge of Sickle Cell Anemia that afflicts so many African Americans today. Cassidy tries to put her love for Brian on the back-burner when she learns that she has the trait, but true love wins out. With an interesting array of characters, the reader can't help but find PICTURE PERFECT a warm and amusing story that will keep you turning the pages. Reon Carter - you go girl! Hope and Destiny was referred to me by one of my parents in school-she is a mother of a student with sickle cell anemia. This book is user friendly, non intimidating and packied with important knowledge for me as a school nurse. It is a reasonable price. It is a book that you cannot sit down and read cover to cover in one sitting- there is just so much useful information. It is a reference book-I have highlighted passages and when my student comes down in crisis I feel that this book enable me to give him better care than I ever thought possible. A WONDERFUL PURCHASE.

This book is good for guiding patients suffering from the disease, but as far as carers psychological status is concerned it did not give much details. It is a good book, but was a bit dissapointed because it did not fulfill the requirement of what I have been looking for

The Early Life Of Jeomie East is a wonderful book. This book is touching, loving, and enlightening. It helps you realize that there is an illness out there that can take hold of your life and completely change your view of it. Jeomie wrote a touching autobiography of her experiences. The photo album portion of this book helps you put faces with names. And the poems and the tributes were touching. I enjoyed it, and I learned so much. Thank you for sharing.

I thought this book was quite interesting. It explained Sickle Cell Anemia in an easy to understand manner. Some parts of the book were boring and seemed a little long, but I liked it when the book used stories of real people who live with the disease. All in all, I thought this book was very helpful and informative and I would recomend it to middleschool or highschool students who are doing a report on the topic.

This Book is about awareness

So That His Death Will Not Have Been In Vain is a serious book about a mother (the author) and her son who had serious hopes of becoming a naval officer, but he callasped while in basic training, and died several days later. What is most interesting about this book is that he was a carrier of the sickle cell trait, but was not aware of its impact. And what made it most interesting was that the navy wasn't aware of the effect being a carrier could have on one's physical body. Being aware could have saved the life of this promising young man. Many African Americans and decendants from the Mediterranian or apt to have the sickle cell disease or be carriers. This book is a lesson for parents and a lesson for the military. Why? because it serves as an awareness tool for those who are not familiar. For example, even being a carrier has its consequencies,i.e., heat factors as it relates to over heating in the sun while doing strenuous exercise, etc. If you have the trait in your family or know of family members who are carriers--this is an important book to read. It provides you with the basis of the Sickle Cell trait and what you should be aware that could mean the difference in life or death. The book is serious and provides you with serious information. The author has indeed done some serious research in helping us to understand the carrier of the sickle cell trait, and learning more about the death of her son.

This is a great book, but it can be better. It is very descriptive and tells what it believed and what is not. If you are looking for a book that gives you alot of information on sickle cell disease this is the book for you. If you are looking for an easy exciting book, you are better off looking for another book.
