The book is well written and organized. Could have had better illustrations but it's still very good. It's a very practical, helpful guide to deal with various endodontic challenges during everyday patient care. It's useful for both endodontists/residents, and general dentists performing endo tx. routinely in their practice. Dental students may not benefit unless interested in pursuing a carrier in endodontics. Various challenges are addressed with tips and tricks for their management. It's a buy for anyone who performs endodontic treatment.

This book reminded me of the fact that great book is thin but deep in phrases. Thick book has its value and this one too. Simple but well categorized book takes us to better sight of art and science of treatment in oral and maxillofacial region including tooth pain therapy.

I have read the 3rd version of this book when i graduated from dental school.Basically ,this is a very good book for those who are already doing root canal treatment. You can find lots of solutions here. The 4th edition is even better, they got more pictures and more clinic hints. If you are a dental school student,i will suggest you start reading textbook like "endodontics: or "pathway to the pulp".If you are a very busy clinician ,this book is what you need.

this book is excellent. It very nicely describes very common daily clinical problems that are encountered in endodontics. not only are the solutions given in excellent details and illustrations through radiographs, there are nut shell summaries that are included for quick references. Overall the book is interesting to read and comprehensive in covering all areas of endodontics. the diagnostic challenges are written with brilliance.
I do a lot of endodontics and having this book was worth every cent I payed.

I discovered this text after I'd been out of dental school a couple years. This is, indeed, a rare animal in the dental world: up to date, clinically practical, well organized, and, dare I say, understandable? MUCH more useful than Pathways of the Pulp. Wish I'd had it in school.

Review Date: 2004-04-30
This book is an excellent resource for anyone who is interested in the Illinois and Michigan (I&M) Canal National Heritage Corridor (in Illinois) and its associated parks and forest preserves. The book begins with a nice history of the Canal, and then launches into information on the trail. Starting with Starved Rock State Park, the book then goes through the various sites along the Corridor, giving a nice map of the site, directions on how to get there, and information that was obviously gathered firsthand by the author.

This is a nice book, and (as I already said) an excellent resource. If you are at all interesting in hiking or biking along the I&M Canal path, or are merely interested in parks and forest preserves in North-Central Illinois, then I highly recommend that you get this book!

I highly recommend this book. Unfortunately it is out of print and very hard to find. It is probably being purchased and shredded by the medical establishment.
The book details 30 years of medical research by Dr. Weston Price. Dr. Price finds a direct connection between root canal treatment of dead teeth and human cronic disease.
Rheumatoid Arthritis, Heart disease, diabetes, etc. etc. etc. all can be caused by the bacteria hidden inside YOUR root canal teeth. the research is exhaustive and compelling.
Empty conjecture? Unsubstantiated theory? I don't think so!
I cured myself of a severe case of Rheumatoid Arthritis by having my(2) root canal teeth removed as specified in this book.
My root canal teeth were removed 15 years ago and the disease has not returned!
If you are sufferring from chronic disease and have root canal teeth, YOU need this book!!!

Great Book which provides a fun, strategic approach to building up your cold calling techniques. What makes this book so special is the extra coaching session that Shawn offers to her readers. The combination of the book with the added bonus of Shawn's great coaching provided me with a personalized, failproof plan to execute on a campaign with success. Also, great tricks and real confidence booster that will keep you disciplined and on the phone! I was amazed at how quickly I saw results. With a new script and approach in hand, out of the first 25 calls I made, I generated 9 appointments. Wow! I also left 9 messages, 2 called back, and out of the 9 messages, I generated 3 appointments. That is the 1st time in quite awhile that I had return calls from my messages. This book will definately put you on the right track! Cold Calling is now a more desirable alternative to Root Canal!

This book is the best telemarketing book I have read. Shawn Green teaches you step by step on what is needed for a successful calling script. The book covers handling gatekeepers, objections, and teaches you how to qualify! She also offers you excellent ways to leave voicemail messages while keeping it fun and informative. I highly recommend this book to anyone who makes calls for a living, whether you're a rookie or a seasoned pro! This book will improve your telemarketing skills...period.

I've looked at several book on telemarketing. This book is by the far the most pratical and enjoyable I've read- simply outstanding for those that are new to telemarketing, or that have undertaken it without enough success or confidence. It provides you with very practical, specific and easily-applied advice across the entire range of possible interactions. Moreover, it provides two or three frameworks to use in approaching potential clients and for managing your processes to success.

Toss out all the other books- this is the one you need for organizing your efforts, gaining all the right tools and managing yourself for success.

Well-organized, thorough, and fun

I'm not a big cold caller but wanted some information on the topic. The author's writing style and humor took the drudgery out of the effort.

It's also well-organized, with key points highlighted. The table of contents makes it easy to return to certain sections as needed.

The book seems very thorough. If you read the introduction, the author suggests reading through from start to finish. I think that's good advice. At the same time, the lay-out and chapter or section introductions make it easy to figure out which parts don't apply to your own situation.

Shawn uses some great tips and techniques to get started with sales and sales management. She takes very complex issues and simplifies them very, very well.

Although I don't think it is designed for advanced salespeople or detailed selling situations, it is still a very useful book to bring people up to that role.

Informative and humorous!

Shawn Greene gives an excellent overview and makes the learning
fun with her humorous examples. She begins with the acronym PIG
for Persistence, Integrity and Guts and carries those through to
deal with some common sales problems. I very much recommend this
for sales people, sales managers and sales trainers.

Great information and a good time, too.

I was fully prepared to listen to the do's and don'ts of selling, what I wasn't prepared for was the high entertainment value contained as well. As an entrpreneur I am constantly struggling witht the best "approach" to selling my services. Ms Greene's advice centers on not having a particular approach but on simply respecting your potential client's time and asking for permission. Along the way I picked helpful suggestions and new ways to think about the sales and marketing procedure. And on top of all that she mixes in some great gags that had me laughing out loud in commuter traffic (don't try this at home). I would recommend this CD to the beginning sales person as well as the seasoned veteran looking for new ways to grow in their profession.

Root Canals Can Cause Disease
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-08-06
Dr. Meinig was one of the founders of the root canal society. When he started, everyone was just pulling teeth out. Dr. Meinig and other dentists had a great idea to save teeth rather than remove them if they were infected. His organization used to be on the fringe, and then they worked hard to become mainstream.

At the time of the books writing over 24,000,000 root canals were done yearly. What Dr. Meinig urgently wanted to show people is that in many cases a root canal sets up the body to have chronic and degenerative disease. The reason is because the dentin tubules, the three miles of microscopic tubes in each tooth are not properly sealed in the procedure and basically the tooth can just rot in ones mouth and then leak out toxic material constantly into the body. Approximately 25% of root canals are healthy and don't have side effects. The exact number of root canals causing disease is not clear.

The book is very dense and mostly consists of a summary of Dr. Price's almost 1200 pages of careful research. Its goal seems to convince more the practitioner than the patient. That being said, if you have arthritis or heart disease, a root canal may be the cause. This is an important book.

Root Canal Cover Up

This book describes in detail what can happen to older root canals, i.e. infections, degrading of the material left in the space where the root used to be... It's very thorough.

If you need something else to worry about in your life, and you have root canals older than a couple of years, this is the book for you.

I read it, discussed it with my dentist, and filed it on my library shelf.

It is not a book I would recommend to anyone unless the person is dealing with a root canal problem.

Dr George Meinig DDS passed away in May this year. What a sad loss to the world of health professionals and the general public. Dr Meinig's book is one of the most significant books written in the last 20 years. Root Canals are the cause of much suffering and disease which few people know about. I knew Dr Meinig, I read his work and I believe every dentist, medical, and all natural therapists should have a copy.
He was writing a new book called "Why You Will Never Fully Recover From Cancer If You Have a Root Canal" before he died.
For me 5 out of 5. Get one while its still available. Now becoming very rare.

EVERYONE needs to read this book

Review Date: 2008-06-05
Certainly, anyone with root canals in their mouths, or anyone contemplating getting a root canal needs to read this book. But prepare yourself: You may never trust your dentist again.

On the other hand, you may discover the cause of your "mysterious" illness, and learn how to cure it. Meinig explains why root canals cause so many puzzling illnesses, and how removing your root-canaled teeth may cure those same illnesses. To put it concisely: ALL root canaled teeth are infected. And the very nasty bacteria causing those infections migrate to other parts of the body causing everything from cancer to multiple sclerosis. If you don't believe me, read the book and study the extensive documentation.

Meinig is not making this stuff up. He used to not only be an endodontist (a dentist specializing in root canals), but he helped found the American Association of Endodontists. To his great credit, Dr. Meinig had an open enough mind to let in information contrary to what he had been taught. He has thoroughly researched this information, not only convincing himself of the damage caused by root canals, but compelling him to write this book for us.

But, if you decide to have your root-canaled teeth pulled after studying this book, know that only a properly-educated dentist will know how to extract the root-canaled teeth so that the infection is entirely eradicated. I recommend you contact any one (or all) of the following organizations for a list of qualified dentists in your area:

Huggins Applied Healing -- 866-948-4638
The Environmental Dental Association -- 800-388-8124
The International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine -- iabdm.org
talkinternational.com

The dental schools and the American Dental Association do not have your best interests at heart. They have been causing illness, suffering, and death by refusing to acknowledge the damage done by conventional dental practices. Unfortunately, we therefore must educate ourselves. I recommend starting with this book and Robert Kulacz's excellent book, "The Roots of Disease." Your research may cause you cynicism and even anger when you learn what our dentists have been doing to us all these years -- and how much it will cost to UN-do their damage -- but take heart knowing that at least the damage CAN be un-done. I wish you good luck and good healing.

This book got me on the road to recovery. I had told my dentist, don't ever tell me I need a root canal! But I needed one. Within 3 months, my right knee started throbbing and aching with what seemed to be arthritis. My mother has arthritic knees, so I thought it was just in the genes. But my knee pain was rather sudden and I am a very, very healthy eater with no pain anywhere, so I was a little stumped as to why it started so suddenly. It got worse, to the point of disrupting my sleep and making me walk with a limp. My holistic dentist recommended this book. I was shocked at the details of what could be happening inside all of these root canaled teeth! WOW~ good science here... I made the decision to get my root canals pulled after speaking with other people about their experiences. It was a hard decision, but the right one. Within a few weeks, my constant, horrible knee pain was gone. That was two years ago, and the knee pain has not returned EVER. I'm convinced, based on my own experience, that my root canals caused my debilitating knee pain and though most doctors would roll their eyes at this idea, it proved true for me. This book has information you will NOT get at your dentist office!

This book is very comprehensive in covering both the scientific and clinical aspects of endodontics. While the detail may be overwhelming for many general dentists, it is an invaluable resource for those interested in gaining a more in depth understanding of the underlying principles and practical ins and outs of performing endodontic therapy. Great for training and practicing endodontists.

It sure is wordy and waistful. I am an average "A-" student and usually don't critize any book but this one I felt that I waisted my money. Content is disorganized. WORDY. This book makes me hate dentistry because of so much garbage is in it, not enough content...

This is an excellent book with both practical steps and the theoritical background.I'm amazed that some of reviewers are complaining about the book being too theoritical, too wordy or too scientific. I assume that the reviewers are dentists,I'm certainly a dentist, and was also an A student. If a dentist has no interest in the science behind the procedure and finds it "wordy and too detailed", the question would be why did they become a dentist in the first place? After all, we are supposed to be scientists too. This book is written by fine practicing clinicians who also happen to be very knowlegable scientists.
Any dentist with passion for dentistry will find this book worth every penny.

once again, a fantastic text. A great test for endodontic board certification and any endodontist, but the information is too detailed I believe for the general dentist, although it should be able to answer any question the general dentist should have on endodontics.
