An essential book for any female pre-teen and teen. At a time when one is going through so many changes and feeling weird
and abnormal about their body, a book like this would definitely help ease some of those worries. I know I would've appreciated
a book like this when I was younger. I'm 24, and it has even helped me now!
Some people feel that some of the pictures in the book are too graphic, but I feel they're important. It is much better for young girls who worry if they are 'normal' down there to see the realistic pictures in this book, than the airbrushed images of girls online. The author is very open about the images in the book, and it is mentioned in the summary on amazon so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
The only issue I had with this book was that I felt there were a lot of issues touched on but not really discussed. I know it was a matter of space, there is just too much to include. I feel that the author did a great job of including as much as she could and answering a lot of really important questions.
It's about time a book like this became widely available!

Nancy Redd's Body Drama is a good read for young ladies starting puberty to grown women. She covers everything a woman needs
to know about her body and how to properly take care of it. It's a fun read, it's not dry and boring so young ladies will
grasp it. This book shows ladies that everyone's body is not the same and we need to appreciate and love the body God gave
us.
I can't wait to give this to my daughter

I think that if I'd had this book growing up, I wouldn't hate my body so much. It's easy to read "Body Drama" now and utterly
agree with it, but the deep-seated beliefs dominate. I can't help but to think that raising my daughter to have fantastic
self-esteem, and then giving her this book when she reaches a certain age, will prevent the cycle of self-hatred from continuing.
I wish there was a version for boys, although obviously I realize it's not the same for them. I'm sad for those who give this
a low review because they're "offended." Don't you realize the profound change a work like this can effect? Thank you, Nancy
Redd, for creating hope for the future even when pasts can't be changed. I am grateful.

I love this book! Girls 14 and older everywhere will find the answer to the number one question of adolescents everywhere
- "Am I normal?"
Real Girls, Real Bodies, Real Issues - Right On. What more can I say?
Read it yourself first, so you know what your daughter will be learning - and let her brother check it out too. With all that pornography out there, boys don't have a clue what a "real" woman's body looks like. This will open their eyes in ways they couldn't imagine.
Nancy's practical advice will hit home and having this great book in your sex talks tool bag will only do you and your kids good.

This is a book the female world has been waiting for. As a girl, growing up, did you ever wish there was a book that would
just "get real" about girl's body issues? This is a book you would have liked to turn to in those difficult moments. Of course,
it's ideal for girls to be able to talk to mothers, other family members, or trusted female mentors about these issues. But
where does that leave teen girls that don't have one of the aforementioned in their lives? Nancy Redd, a former Miss America
swimsuit winner has written the quintessential book on female adolescent sexuality. Gone are those cheesy pencil drawings
with the female anatomy. Redd gets up front and personal with photographs about all parts of the female anatomy. This book
has every question you have never read before that a girl might ask.
Problems such as embarrassing smells, zits, breast sizes, and pubic hair are all covered. No issue is too off-limits. This is a book for women only. Yes, I imagine a few horny teenage guys will find it at the library or bookstore and have a thrill, but this book is intended for women.
Just a sample of topics: My vagina smells, I hate the way I look down there, My breasts are too heavy, It hurts to pee, I go poo too much, I have a mustache, I feel fat, I'm addicted to tanning, and the list goes on. There are handy things like how to make a pad with toilet paper. Redd even makes some confessions about some of the topics that readers will appreciate.
And then there is the thing that will really knock your socks off: an entire two page spread of photos of vulvas. When I first saw this, I must admit, I was shocked. But after reading the book, I can see the genius of it. It's not meant to be porn, it's just a safe way for girls to see that not every vagina looks the same. Redd complains that the porn and fashion industries are showing glossy, airbrushed "hairless slits" and that teen girls are thinking that their "package" needs to look similar. She also shares scary stories about surgeries girls are having to make their anatomy look better. It is for this reason that she made the infamous spread.
I am glad this book was written. I am a little sad that the collection development people at my library chose to place this book in adult non-fiction instead of teen non-fiction. Teen girls need this book, and now they will have to walk to a different section to find it. Highly recommended for all libraries.

Pour yourself a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and curl up with your favorite cozy blanket and the book - I'm Peddling as
Fast as I Can: From Pimples to Wrinkles by Sandra Mullen. As I joined the book's heroine Abagal Smart on her journey from
idealism to wisdom, I was reminded of my own journey along the road of life to mature womanhood. Sandra Mullen has captured
our life passages with her daringly honest, edgy, and entertaining approach. I look forward to reading her future adventures.

Mullen does a nice job of taking us through her life journey from teenager to today, touching on the quirky female thought
process as she goes. I have passed this book onto two friends already, and recommend ladies, that you sign your name inside
the cover as you go - as testimony to the fact that, whether you like it or not, you're in there! I give her two thumb's up
and also await parts II, III, and IV! Nice job all around. Purchase this one for any gal who is traveling along her rocky
road, for a GREAT BIG laugh!

The author has written this hilarious take on "Abagal Smart's" professional women's "balancing act". I don't know of one
woman that couldn't relate to this heroine's story! If you are a baby boomer, this is nostalgic fun. If you are a newly single
Mom and are lost navigating the dating waters while trying to be the perfect Mom, it's a godsend! If you just love an intelligent
witty read this is a must!I read the book in a couple of hours and now wait patiently for a sequel?!

This book is very insiteful and has many facts on acne. It is very helpful and shows how and why acne starts and how to try
and treat it. The book isn't extremely long but it is worth the trouble. If you have acne of any kind then this is the book
for you.

I think he should rename his book as The Acne Prescription: The Perricone Program for the RICH by Nicholas Perricone. Has
he checked the prices of wild salmon and all the berries he recommended lately? They are sky-rocket priced. If I follow
his program and buy his over-priced products, I would spend all my paychecks and some loans. I think he should practice his
program with limited budget like the rest of us to see if it is realistic or NOT.
I think the most effective, economical program is The Acne Cure: The Nonprescription Plan That Shows Dramatic Results in as Little as 24 Hours by Dr. Terry J. Dubrow and Brenda D. Adderly.

This book has really changed the way that I live. Not only has it really improved my overall skin quality, I have more energy
and I am more vivacious than ever before! I have struggled with acne since I was about twelve years old. I have tried everything
including accutane. It as not until I found this book and began following some of the principals that I really noticed a difference.
I will say this, a really do not believe that all the supplements are required for you to reach your optimum skin health.
I do fine with my fish oil and ALA ( which I will not buy at the overly inflated perricone web site prices), and watching
my high glycemic carbs. I also take DMAE and eat a lot of salmon. Not only has my skin cleared, the entire color of my skin
is different. People began to complement me for the first time in my life telling me that I had beautiful skin. In addition
to the skin clearing, i also am much more toned and dropped about 10 pounds since the start of the program. The only problem
I have with this book is it seems like Dr. Perricone really plugs his products waaaaay to much. The prices on his website
are a little crazy for my taste. If you want to really save on your topical supplements go to a website called [...] With
the products on this website you can make you own skin care products using cetaphil as a base. They are exactly the same thing.
I was a skeptic!!

I am 33 mom of 3 and at my wits end with Acne. I had been to a dermatologist again (off and on throughout the years) and
been put on topical medications which were not working. I stumbled upon this and CANNOT BELIEVE that after 3 days my acne
started clearing up. It has now been 6 days and it is only getting better. I went on the 3 day diet and am now incorporating
his ideas into my regular lifestyle. I think I have lost 3 pounds too, but to me the clear skin is the best!! I have been
taking a multivitamin, some extra Vitamin A and selenium drinking a lot of green tea, use flax seed on my yogurt and just
started taking fish oil too and that has worked for me. If you have acne and really want a solution, I say give it a try...just
incorporate what you can into your life and see. p.s. I love!! coffee but am going without except for maybe 1 cup a day.

If you are into health at all, much of this information is obvious. However, some of the more specific information about nutrients,
vitamins, foods and quantities are very useful. I found the book helpful and my serious adult acne problem began to lessen
after a week or so when topical treatments did little.

The plan and systemic treatment that Dr. Perricone has developed works! I wish there was a way I could give testimonials
in his behalf on finally proving that acne is systemic. After having a child at 27 years old, my skin totally changed and
I became very acne prone. I would suffer from mild to moderate acne at all times. It was very rare that I did not have some
form of breakout on my face, neck, back and/or chest. I went to numerous dermatologists and received great treatments. However,
nothing worked. I took the antibiotic - Tetracyclin off and on for over 9 years. Since finding this book, I have been eating
the foods and taking the supplements that are listed in the book based on my type of acne. I look completely different.
I even choose to go without any foundation on my face. His information is great. For the first time in 9 years, I have not
taken any antibiotics. IT IS FABULOUS and my skin is radiant.
Thank you Dr. Perricone!
