It's not a good idea to spend time memorizing answers to questions. It is in your best interest to know the principles behind the answers, if you plan on passing the registry. This book is a fine condensed version of your 2 year program.

This book helped me pass the ARRT Exam. I haven't been in school for a couple of years...plus I went to school overseas. I had the old version of this book but I needed to buy the newer one. It lived up to it's title "Radiography PREP". This book together with the Lange Q&A - Radiography Examination were the only books I needed...now I'm a Registered RT.

All review books, whether blue, yellow or green are good. The way I did it to prepare me for the MRI test: MIC course, any good cross sectional anatomy book & all the colorful review books you can find.

Q & A in MRI is an excellent resource.

I used the first ed. of this book to study for my MR registry exam & found it most helpful in understanding pulse sequences & MRI physics. The author(s) answer the questions in concise, easy to understand jargon that won't confuse the student, yet is technical enough for experienced technologist's to benefit. The second ed. is a continuation of this tried & true method of teaching & I most certainly would recommend this book, especially for anyone that is just learning MRI or getting ready to sit for the registry exam.

Most excellent book. If you are looking for an easy MR book to read with a good format, this is the book for you. It contains many answer to MR questions you have and never dare asking. I went thru many MR books, this is by far my favorite, I use it all the time. Would highly recommend it.

Great histology book!

Review Date: 2006-11-06
I recommend this book both to medical students who are studying histology for the first time and to doctors. I, as a pathology resident, found this book very helpful for studying the normal structure of organs because of its great pictures (including special stains and electron microscopy) and its easy-to-understand yet detailed text. Also the clinical, physiological and cell biological correlations (presented as text boxes throughout the book) help you a lot in getting a more clear picture about the presented organ or tissue.

Makes a difficult topic very approachable

Review Date: 2006-09-14
This is a very well produced book wilth many illustrations which make histology, a topic I've taught but never mastered, make more sense. While the book is very approachable, it is still very much in-depth and if you are looking for a more introductory text, you may want to consider getting an atlas to begin. However, medical and graduate students would do very well with this text since it bridges the molecular mechanisms active in cells to the microscopic structure of tissues and organs. It also brings the microscopic structure and function into view regarding the gross anatomical perspective as well, giving a top-to-bottom appraisal of histology. This would have been a five-star rating if only the pages were not so whispy that my highlighter bled through to the other side of the page repeatedly. Students, buy this book with confidence, but underline rather than highlight!

This is the best histology book I have seen. Good for molecular biology researchers as well-better then many standard textbooks. Very good discussions of development of cell types as well as structural histology.

The photos are very good in this book. If you are taking histology I do recommend this one. This is a complete text. Each subject area is expertly done (example) muscle tissue, bone, skin etc.
If you want also a great studying tool to help you prepare for your exams, I recommend HISTOLOGY STUDY GUIDE: KEY REVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS author Patrick Leonardi. This helped me!!!

good as a quick reading

Review Date: 2008-09-12
i haven't gone through the whole book yet, but so far, i found it a good review book for quick reading if you don't have time for more detailed reading. it does highlight the important points you are required to know as a surgery resident, but it's not complete at all and you need to go to a "textbook" for in depth knowledge.

Its rather important to understand how another health system thinks about disease. This book written by residents give an excellent initial insight into the US surgical resident's thinking. I was trained in Ireland and there are some interesting differences that this book highlights.

Intense absite review
Helpful Votes: 10 out of 10 total.
Review Date: 2001-06-27
This book is the first of its kind to prepare you in total for the Absite examination. This book incorporates basic science with the clinical science in order to allow you to review for the tests in a short text version without having to decipher through large textbooks. It has references to O'leary, the basic science book used during my residency, as well as to other major textbooks. This book seems to cut out the redundency of larger books and includes small facts that they love to ask on the exam. A must for those with weak scores or those looking to gain extra points... who isn't.

A terrific review for the ABSITE

I read this book and my in-training exam score went up by over sixty points. It's not exactly a quick read at over 500 pages, but it's very readable and it contains all the information covered in the ABSITE exam. I highly recommend it as a review book for surgery residents looking to improve their scores.

Best of the Case Review series
Helpful Votes: 12 out of 12 total.
Review Date: 2003-01-21
This is definitely the best one out of the series. The pictures are excellent, often including labels to help the beginning resident get a grasp of viewing U/S anatomy. Each case is succintly presented with an excellent disccusion. The case selection is also fantastic, as it covers the important topics with the exclusion of OB/GYN (covered in it's own seperate series). All the info in this book is material residents should be expected to know.

I purchased this at the beginning of my radiography program. I'm getting ready to graduate in 7 months and have been using them for tests in positioning as well as patient care. These cards have multiple questions on one card and are color-coded for each section covered by the ARRT registry. I also recommend Lange Q&A by D.A.Saia for registry review.Lange Q&A - Radiography Examination (Lange Q&A Series (formerly Appleton and Lange's Review Series)

Wonderful book with questions oriented for new residents in radiology, residents preparing for the written and also residents preparing for the oral examination. It is even a little helpful for physics, but that is what my other little favorite book is for (Huda). You don't even need Dahnert to use or understand this book, but it helps. (I like Primer better.) I love it because it starts with a case presentation, gives a diagnosis as well as a differential and numerous questions that really test your knowledge with excellent explanations that I have found to be very accurate, up to date and with very good references.

Thanks Dr. Tamm, et all!

The Little Green Book is a cool book, which has a lot of questions/answers, based on the content of the great Radiology Review Manual. These books are amazing and all the radiology residents, and radiologists too, should have it. Enjoy!

I got this book as a review and to renew my license, but ended up being quite immersed in the complete and easy learning way it was written. Even with new methods and drugs, nursing is still hands on, and this book was very, very informative. I am so happy I chose a course which required reading this book.
