This monograph provides an excellent and authoritative summary of current knowledge regarding Perthes disease in an easily readable format. The development of the historical understanding of the disease is well covered in the first chapter and is followed by sections on theories of aetiology, pathology, clinical features and presentation, classification systems, treatment options and outcomes. Each section is well illustrated and numerous case studies showing serial radiographs demonstrate the course of the disease and provide an atlas of the disease in its own right. I read this whilst an orthopaedic trainee; Perthes disease had been a mystery to me until then - but no longer! I thoroughly recommend this monograph.

This CD appears to contain nothing more than a search program that searches FREE government sites that you can search for yourselves (e.g., CDC, NIH). Far from a current review on the subject of osteonecrosis, in my opinion, it is a complete waste of money.
