For 100 years-and still today-surgical, obstetrical, and newborns have been mysteriously burned in the best hospitals under the care of some of the best surgeons and obstetricians. The first documented case was in 1901 at St. Vincents in New York City. Back then hospitals had charitable immunity could not be sued for negligence (most hospital care was free). People only went to a hospital as the last resort because surgery frequently resulted in death from infection. The FDA medical device database is bloated with all types of unexplained burns. At this moment a lawsuit is being filed for a mysterious burn (how many is unknown). The problem is not confined to the US but is worldwide.

This book is very detailed, a must for general medical information.

Like most of the other books published by the United States Pony Club, this one is tops. It not only explains how to bandage your horse but shows you with clear illustrations as well. I am a member of the U.S. Pony Club and found this book useful in studying for ratings. It taught me so well that I scored higher than average. This book is the best book on the topic ever written!

I have owned this book since it came out and it is the most informative veterinary manual that I own. I have always loved science and horses and I have many books on veterinary books for horses as I want to become a veterinarian. I am still in highschool but by reading this book I already have a very good understanding to many complicated veterinary subjects and situations and I am sure that by knowing what I have learned from this book will help me in university. If you have any interest at all in horses or science or wish to be a veterinarian some day I recommend this book. It teaches you everything you need to know.

This is an outstanding book on safety issues related to warehousing. Covering lift truck safety, dock safety, fire safety, storage, material handling, ergonomics, lockout/tagout, and others. The book is comprehensive yet very easy to read. Good use of photos and graphics. Anyone involved in running a warehouse should read this book.

Dr Fahey's book is a great reference tool for those who train and get common athletic injuries. It's give simple easy to follow advise that everybody can understand.

Every household with children should have this book. I remember reading this as a child in the school nurse's office; she kept the book on the shelf beside the bed. The book shows what a child can do when they are alone or with another child in several emergency scenarios, from choking, to a broken arm, to a splinter, to electric shock, and more. With cartoon drawings and amusing endings to each story, this book successfully teaches about scary situations, without scaring the child.

I have read many books on spinal cord injury and this one ranks very high. The discussions of statistics on spinal cord injury are great. I have not seen a better discussion of the psychological and sociological aspects of spinal cord injury. If you are doing research on spinal cord injury, this book is a definite must in your collection.

This book will save lives! Too bad, Anna Nicole Smith did not have this book; if she did, both her and her son may still be alive today. This book is written by Dr. Joshua Perper, the Broward County Medical Examiner who performed Anna Nicole Smith's autopsy. Dr. Perper tells us, in simple easy to understand "non-doctor" language when it is vital to seek medical attention in order to save your life. This book is a MUST for every family. This book has a permanent place on my nightstand.
