This is an excellent book for all the people working with postharvest diseases of fruits and others comodities. The book also brings an extensive amount of information on the biology and management of many plant pathogenics microorganism and the principes and practices to implement an integrated program to reduce the negative impact of postharvest diseases, focusing in the developing of effective management systems. The protocols for basic techniques and methods are very useful and didactics and easy to implement for different fruits and vegetables. Its a great investment for plant pathologist and packinghouse managers.

Believe it or not, I liked this book so much that after typing a long review on it once before, I accidently erased my review and I have now gone the extra mile in a very busy practice to write to you about this exceptional book. I have spent the last 6 months researching the literature on health promotion for my patients with Multiple Sclerosis. I am a member of a medical team developing a large scale 'health promoting behavior'(hpb) research and training center at a large university hospital. I wandered into the SCI literature and BEHOLD! All the months that I had spent teasing this aspect and then that apsect of hpb's were, for the most part, contained in this one very deceivingly simple book. Likewise, my explorations on how to create a program designed to maximize hpb's would have been immensely easier had I found this title first! I now use it to organize all the other information that I have found in other sources. The breadth of the material is neatly organized into numerous and powerfully informative tables and diagrams. I did not find a single topic relevant to the consumer and the healthcare professional uncovered. For it's purpose, this dynamo of a book is "just what the doctor ordered." My only problem now is HOW DO I ORGANIZE OUR PROGRAM WITHOUT COMPLETELY PLAGIARIZING INDIRA S. LANIG!

This book is a great book to use as a resource when prepariang for a disaster. Don't let the title fool you into thinking that it can only be used for a nuclear disaster, although that is the book's main focus. Many of the guidelines (such as what types of food to store or how to build a homemade water purifier) can be used for other types of calamities. The book is easy to understand and follow. It is written in simple, layman's terms. In other words, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to follow the directions.

This book is easy to read and understand. Each chapter is short with valuable questions at the end. This book is well worth the money spent.

I have danced for 17 years and have been a PTA for 3 1/2 years so this book is right up my alley!! I love this book and is a must have for any dancer or those treating dance injuries!!!

If you are concerned with keeping kids safe--as every school should be--this book can assist you in designing or improving an effective injury prevention program.

This is an excellent text on how to do actual trauma surgery. I would highly recommend it to any medical professional who is either going into surgery or might be assisting in surgery or anyone doing medical missions in the developing world and disaster areas. This is an easy to read bare-bones guide to walk the reader through the actual trauma surgical procedures in a very comprehensive format.

The book's articles (chapters) describe models of nature's way of controlling motion. The models are built in the tradition of Bernstein, which means that they assume that the motion phenomena under cosideration are aimed at solving a certain problem based on a model of the future. The model of the future exists in the brain of the person/animal performing the motion. This approach is different from the theory of reflexes. In reflex theory everything that happens now has a cause in the past, and this completely expains motor activity. The Bernstein-inspired approach proposes that motor activity is performed with some outcome in mind - the human or animal has a model of desired future according to which the actions are taken.
