A must have children's book for any parent who has tried to remove a splinter! We borrowed it from the library and needed it for the permanent collection.

This book explains knee injuries and problems in language a non-medical person can easily understand. The illustrations, though hand-drawn and a bit crude, are easy to follow and are very informative. I liked the explanations of alternatives in treatment and why one method is used over another. I recommend this book to anyone who has a knee injury or has arthritis in the knee.

Phenomenal- the mastery of so many spheres of knowledge are rarely displayed with such masterful erudition and breathtaking display of wonders that the world has not seen since the days of Dickens, Chaucer, et. al.

I also thought that the graphical displays within the book were incredible, but there were no pictures of women in unclothed state and only limited information on restricted substances.

What a story! It is moving and inspiring to see the resilience of the spirit of this gentleman. This is the kind of story that once you read it it stays in your mind and in your heart. It evokes a great source of admiration for both the author and all others who risk their lives for the freedom and safety of this nation. It also becomes a great source of hope and encouragement as one face significant challenges and losses throughout one's own life journey. You have to read it!!

The best so far. "Must read" for nurses working in Spinal COrd Injury areas - acute or rehab. "Must have" book for orthopaedic/spinal units. Can't wait for a newer edition.

I have read this book many times, is an excellent helper for a resident and teaches a young fellow to think orthopedically, of course one must read "DePalma" and "Watson Jones classical text" as one must read "Closed teatment of comon fractures" The master piece of Sir John Charnley, wrotten 50 years ago and reprinted in 1999. This book of Dr. Iversen is a good book for the emergency room and the travel to the beach, even a senior orthopedist must read it...one never end in this trip to knowledge in medicine.HERE I READ THE FIRT TIME THE "THREE POINTS OF DR. CHARNLEY", THAT HELP ME A LOT IN MECHANICAL APROACH TO A FRACTURE.

This book is written for all those without specialized neurological training, nurse and doctors who have head injured patients in their care.

For general surgeons it is a unique in being written for the experienced clinician who does not have neurological training. The indications for burr holes are described clearly in four general rules. The techniques of operation on head injuries are clearly explained in text and diagram.

This book although now out of print is a worthwhile one to get your hands on.

I have the 1st ed, 2d ed, 3rd ed, 4th ed and now I just receipt the 5th. I think this is a manual for easy consultation and maybe to read while resting at home or in the beach. I see it very helpfull and up to date orthopaedics data base.

When professionals are confronted with patients or family members who are overwhelmed by the results of a traumatic brain injury, there needs to be more information shared than can be during an office visit. This manual provides excellent hand-outs which are reproducible and information which the family members can refer back to over the course of the week.
