I found these tapes to be very helpful in enabling me to get through a very difficult period in my life. The affirmations and relaxation were excellent and soothing. With all of the time and money that we spend on treatments, this small investment can help to maintain sanity.

This is a miraculous program of 4 exercises. I've been working with the first three, all of which help with trying to get pregnant, and keep you calm and steady in spite of the indignities of IVF. The affirmations are brilliant.

I am struggling with both fibromyalgia and with trying to conceive. This program has been a godsend to me. My husband says I'm not the same woman I was 3 months ago, and a good thing too!! I was a lunatic!!

I read this book when going through infertility problems of my own, and Mindy Gross' story was a never-ending comfort and inspiration to me. The book tells the story of Mindy's becoming a mother -- years of infertility, numerous miscarraiges, finally, having children, and then coming down with a rare blood disorder, perhaps caused by a treatment she received for the miscarraiges. Throughout the book, Mindy manages to convey the pain she felt, side by side with her faith in God. Although Mindy is a religious Jew, her message is NOT "have faith in God and you too will succeed." She conveys the complexities of faith and suffering in a much richer way than that. This book is a must read for women undergoing infertility and/or miscarraiges, and indeed, for anyone undergoing emotional pain and suffering.

i knew mindy gross in the 70's and early 80's. If anyone could write such a heartfelt, engrossing story, tugging the whole way on heart strings- it would be mindy. The story brought not only tears but smiles to my cheeks. I worried all the way through, even though i had heard what would be the outcome from old friends. Struggling with birth and life- this would be a great read.

This book helps men accept their situation and gives advice about how to please their women in other ways. It is a useful book for the both parts because it teaches how to handle a man with impotence issues without hurting his self esteem. Man with impotence problems tend to be more sensible at some remarks and need to accept that impotence is a common illness among many men around the world. If you want to help your man and solve his problem about impotence I recommend this book "Natural Penis Enlargement: New Methods of Avoiding and Curing Impotence, Premature Ejaculation, and Erectile Dysfunction Safely and Inexpensively. New ... No Pumps, No Pills and No Gadgets! Vol. 2" by Platinum Millennium, a book which will probably make him very happy and giving him hope again.

Impotence & Prostate Solutions, by Donald L. McCarty,J.D., was very informative, and the information found in it is just what my marriage needed.

My husband has been impotent for some time, and it was not a good thing for my husbands ego. In fact, it was very difficult for him to accept impotence, after his prostate surgery. It put a strain on our otherwise good marriage.

It wasn't until he read this book that he realized that other men have suffered what he has been going through, and have acquired new ways to satisfy their wives sexually. Impotent men worry that their wives will not be able to be sexually satisfied and that they might look elsewhere. This book is just what my husband needed. It answered many questions that he had, and made him realize that there is hope, and that we can have sexual intimacy again. Using the techniques outlined in the book my husband has been able to develop his self-esteem once again, with the knowledge that he can fulfill my sexual desires. In fact, he is enjoying the sexual techniques that the book outlines, and said that he is enjoying sex once more. The techniques that the book suggests that the wife do to enhance her husbands sexual arousal are some things that my husband really enjoys. And I have discovered that I enjoy doing those things for him and to him, and wish I would have tried them earlier in our marriage.

The information that the author gives, as a cancer survivor, concerning the care of the prostate and the questions to ask the doctor, as well as the different options available for treatment are some that would have helped my husband in a very tramatic and difficult time. I could have used the information too to have more knowledge in being a part of the decision making process.

This book is a must read for every man and woman. Information is given that can help men to better understand the prostate and its functions, and possibly assist them in avoiding prostate problems with better care. I'm happy to say that we have developed a better understanding of the importance of taking time during love-making. We used to rush right through the act. Now, we take more time with our love-making, and explore each other, as suggested in the book. This enhances my sexual feelings and I have been able to have numerous orgasms, something I was not able to achieve prior to reading this book. For this, I am thankful to the author who has taken the time to share with others his experiences in how he changed his attitude about his impotence and used new avenues to bring sexual excitement to his wife, and discovered in the process that it was very sexually stimulating to him too.

The chapter on sexual techniques should be read by everyone who desires a deep sexual intimacy with their partner. It never hurts to fine-tune ones sexual skills, and to learn and try new things. In fact, it is just down right exhilarating and a real boost to ones sexual heights. Read the book, try the techniques, and you will discover, as we did, that love-making can bring hours of joy, and keep you falling more inlove everyday. Good Luck!

Crossfertilizing feminist, postcolonial , and queer studies.

"Infertility's: exploring fictions of barren bodies" by Robin Truth Goodman is a compelling read. It points to the role of lesbian representation and reproductive politics in ongoing critiques of globalism. It is a book that can be used as a companion reader to those interested in queer studies, feminist and postcolonial theories.

It is a book that explores how global market ideas about family, femininity, and reproduction are traded on as if they were a currency. Goodman takes Darwin's studies on sterility between species as her starting point, exploring evolutionary science as the intersection of a colonial worldview based on class struggle while pathologizing female identities that fall outside reproductive normalcy. She also examines Joseph Conrad constructs a vision of femininity as a product of miscegenation. She discusses how ecological devastation of the Brazilian Amazon is envisioned through failed Indian marriages.

Fertile Conceptions as Cultural Criticism

Robin Truth Goodman draws together in persuasive thematic mode materials from science, literature and environmental journalism to illuminate the work of Conrad, Vargas Llosa and Carpentier. Beyond the gift of careful readings of texts, this book offers ways to read cultural representations of the body, lesbianism, and reproduction. We see how our current preoccupations are rooted in basic concepts like Darwinian science and ancient constructions of gender in our own and other cultures. I'll never look at Conrad again without thinking of Goodman's "barren bodies," and at the same time when I contemplate "saving the rainforest" I will now have critical thinking tools to recognize narrative control and class struggle inherent in well-meant hopes for environmental activism. goodman's work is helpful for a range of disciplines, from courses on empire in the British lit offerings to studies of global issues in the women's and gender studies program. Most important of all is the way Goodman shows how to think across the constricting divides that limit our ability to hear, see, and act in the world.

This book is one of the titles designed to present advances in the field of research concerning male infertility. This book does just that , present diagnosis and treatment methods for impotence, but it fails to discuss any of the social and psychological problems of impotence, let alone talk about other methods. For a more complete study on sexual disorders maybe you should try" Natural Penis Enlargement: New Methods of Avoiding and Curing Impotence, Premature Ejaculation, and Erectile Dysfunction Safely and Inexpensively. I purchased this book expecting to have some guided imageries, some instruction on how to self-induce a hypnotic state to then implement the suggestions in the book. The book has many, many suggestions for things that can help deal with the infertility, but they are better suited for your hypnotherapist to include in your sessions. It is an okay book, but not really suited as a stand-alone self-hypnosis book.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to become pregnant as well as for hypnotherapists. Lynsi Eastburn shares many insights into the mind-body connection that will help moms-to-be not only in becoming pregnant but in carrying a healthy full term baby as well. The case studies she has chosen to share with us are so heartwarming. An enjoyable and informative read. Enjoy!

This book was recommended to me by my dental hygienist who also has PCOS. She attested very passionately to how well it has worked for her, so I was very excited when it arrived. I began reading it right away and was happy to see that a lot of the book contained education about PCOS as well as their dietary recommendations. It's not just a diet. I was surprised by how many foods would not be ideal for PCOS patients. But, my surprise was not discouraging. It is clear that a lot of time and research has gone into this book, so I trust to content very well. I am in the process if integrating the diet into my life rather than jumping in full-fledged right away, as it does eliminate several food staples to my typical diet like dairy and grains. I know that I would not be successful if I jumped in 100% right away, but I will be there soon. It's important for me to make these changes at my pace to ensure that I have success. Good luck to everyone else!

Solid, Well-Researched Advice

I was leery of this book and its advice after a cursory glance, but everything the authors put forward seems to be well-researched, documented, and on the (current) cutting edge of research about PCOS. They recognize the underlying insulin resistance problem many women with the syndrome suffer from and offer an extremely detailed dietary approach with explanations and supporting studies for their suggestions. Possibly my favorite aspect of the book is that there is a ton of information on all types of foods, drinks, supplements, and the bodily responses brought about by these things that I have never seen anywhere else. I didn't, for instance, know so much about the dangers of peanuts (pesticides) or the benefits of different types of fat before. You can tell that a lot of work and research went into every page, cover to cover. The end of the book contains great looking recipes, detailed meal plans and a shopping list. Unfortunately, the diet is hard. I have successfully completed the Atkins and South Beach initiation phases, and this diet scared me off for being too restrictive. No dairy or even 100% whole grain whole wheat bread is allowed. I recommend this book for people looking to add to their education on eating and the PCOS body and to hardcore women who can commit to the plan. Ultimately, The Natural Diet Solution is a great book to take some information from to help tweak your personal approach.

A couple's journey through male factor infertility

This book chronicles a woman/couple dealing with male factor infertility. While Kelley (author and main character) herself is not infertile, her husband is diagnosed with a congenital defect. The couple decides to try IVF and fortunately, they are successful in achieving pregnancy within their first try. What I like about this book is that Kelley shares her emotions and connects with all readers who are planning to or have traveled the road to IVF. Kelley, although a successful lawyer, talks about the impact of the costs of IVF and teaches that sometimes we have to make certain monetary sacrifices in order to follow our dreams. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I am picky about the writing. [...].

Pregancy Wishes and IVF Dreams is an honest and touching account of a couples difficulties with conceiving a child. I have not had to experience infertility directly, but I have a sister and a friend who did. I could also relate to and empathize with Kelley's story as the mother of two children. Kelley Taylor's book is an inspirational story about the challenges that life can present to the reader. It's a must read book for anyone who is facing infertiltity as well as those who have a loved one or friend who is experiencing infertility.

This is a fun read for those of us who have spent many hours in waiting rooms, months hoping for a positive test and years of trying. If you are green to the IVF scene this book is a slice of reality that shouldn't scare you away, but give you a quick dose of what you might be in for in the process.

Review Date: 2006-12-30
A book for those who may want children, who have thought about having children, and even for those who have had children. This book holds many gems in the way of information, humour, and emotional challenges. As a woman who has had children, I was hesitant to read it when a friend recommended it, but found myself being drawn into the author's quest to have a child. It considers many of the moral, ethical and practical dilemmas faced by a woman wanting a child, who becomes more and more aware is unable to have naturally.
Not only is this book a mature and honest resource for those wanting to plan to have children, it is an important insight for those who have never had to, or will ever have to endure the costly and complicated IVF rollercoaster. This book is a crucial read for IVF partners, friends and family in explaining seemingly strange behaviour as well as the effects of the IVF torments, drugs, doctor's double-speak and let-downs.
I came away thinking how lucky I was to have been forced to have my children early (unplanned), and that I will never take my children for granted again.
In short, a great, easy to read book full of laughs, the odd cry and a few lessons.
