Mother Goose Time is a classic collection of rhymes, songs and poems for children. As a librarian who works with infants and toddlers I found this book to be an invaluable resource. Many of the nursery rhymes are familiar and bring back memories of childhood. The tips for interacting with little ones ring true and have very practical applications. Although aimed at the librarian, this book is essential for parents, teachers, caregivers and anyone who wants to get some toothless grins, touch the minds of little ones and start the spark that creates a lifelong love of reading.

Can a child exist that never really was? After reading this book you'll wonder if it is indeed possible. "Pearl" is a baby that was taken from one mother by another and then returned. The journey these three women take is all based on a lie that each must weave into their own lives. Sometimes fate can be cruel and loving at the same time. Take a chance and try to find this gem, you won't be disappointed!

I picked this book up at my local library while pregnant with my first baby, and now can't wait to get a copy for myself! Cynthia Copeland Lewis' writing style is very clear and direct, making it an enjoyable and easy read. The information inside is very to-the-point for first time mothers, especially if you're afraid or unsure of how life will change once that baby comes into your life.

What really sets this book apart from so many others I've read is that it's focus is not on the baby, but rather on YOU, the new mother. Ms. Lewis writes with great sincerity and understanding about how your life will change, about your relationships with others, including your husband. I definitely recommend this as a must-read, or as a great gift for an expectant mum!!!

This book is a collection of 49 real-life stories and poems written by mothers, fathers, siblings, and grandparents. All of them centre around a theme - the loss of a child. Works in this book cover miscarriage, multiple miscarriages, late miscarriage, stillbirths and infant loss. Each and every piece is heartfelt and incredibly painful, the sorrow and loss screams out of each and every page.

As someone who has had loss of her own, I related to these stories and felt huge empathy and sympathy for them. It's a heartbreaking work, but if you or someone you care about has had a loss, it's good to know there are others out there who feel how you feel, and that you are not alone.

Losing a baby is very painful experience. The author interviews 30 women and men who have lost a baby to miscarriage or stillbirth, and asks them about family support, religious and community support, medical and psychological services, and other aspects of the experience. The stories are very moving, and provide insight into the complications that western culture places on an already devastating loss. Parents also provide helpful insights into the ways that they came to term with their losses through ritual, activism and their own spiritual strengths.

Helpful to pracititoners and parents alike.

I remember when I was a young child and my grandfather reading this book to me. I hope this book stays in print for a long time to come--I hope to read it to my children one day, and I'm sure other children will love it just as much as I did when I was their age!

This new revision by Mary Ellen Pelligrini tells what to expect during pregnancy and childbirth, and the baby's first year out in the world. The book assumes that the young reader is on a tight budget and may, perhaps, be a single Mom. Helpful instructions are brief and to the point,yet the reader can feel the warm concern of the writer. Each section is followed by a test which a mother can use to measure her own understanding of good childcare. Although useful to the individual, it will also be perfect in a small group setting.

A wonderful baby book for Catholic parents. Includes the usual areas for baby's birth, eruption of teeth, etc., but also include baby's baptism, confirmation, and sacraments received. I have one for each of my children and plan to give them as gifts for Catholic friends.
