Based on a longitudinal study of children starting in the 1930's, this book describes behavior of children at certain ages.
It does not tell you how to raise your child. It simply tells you what to expect at 3 months, two years, eight years, etc.
Instead of perceiving your child's behavior as peculiar or bad (and therefore punishing the child), the parent can see the
behavior as normative. It enables acceptance of your child as he or she is and should be.

In my work I support teachers in improving the quality of their infant and toddler classrooms. I am also working on my masters
in Early Childhood Education. I really appreciate this book. It is so full of excellent ideas and great information every
care provider should know. I love how this book stresses the importance of building relationships as the foundation of quality
care. If you are teaching a class or trying to improve the level of care in your own infant or toddler classrooms, or you
are a parent who wants to know what quality care looks like, this is the book for you.

wealth of information relating to child care and the reader will return to this book again and again as (s)he practices and

When i read this i was very intrigued because my fathers life was so different and peculiar. He has been through a lot, and
for his families sake he didn't put it all in this book. But he was able to tell us about his past and what made him the man
he is today.

Infant Research And Adult Treatment: Co-constructing Interactions by Beatrice Beebe (Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology
in Psychiatry, New York State Psychiatric Institute, Columbia University) and Frank M. Lachmann (Clinical Assistant Professor,
New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis) is a scholarly, meticulous and comprehensive
summary of the authors extensive and longer term efforts to research and better understand the psychology of parent-infant
bonds and the thought processes of infants. Applying their work to current psychoanalytic treatments of adult patients, a
body of original research that traces psychological problems all the way back to pre-verbal childhood days, Infant Research
And Adult Treatment is both a reference and a treatment guide, which is confidently recommended for academic psychology/psychiatry
reference libraries, as well as supplemental reading lists or for students, researchers, and practitioners with a professional
interest in contemporary psychoanalytic research.

I bougth this item for my toddler who is in Speech Therapy for delayed talking and comprehension. I wanted to find something
that could help me to teach him and to practice skills when he wasn't at speech therapy. These cards are great. Each card
not only has pictures, but also gives you sentances to use the pictures in, songs, etc. It is a wonderful tool for the baby/toddler
that is not in pre-school. Although it is a bit pricey, I have not found anything else which offers so many different ways
for the parent to teach their child at home. I give it an A+ and well worth the money if you aren't spending it on pre-school.

Harvard professor, T. Berry Brazleton, shares a lot of insight into infant development in a way to help parents understand
their own babies. This book covers the first twelve months of the infant's life. He categorizes babies into the quiet baby,
the active baby and the average baby.

It is designed to be both highly survivable (laminated both front and back) and EASY to read and do. Students use this in the Red Cross I&C CPR Course and then take it home to place it where they need it most -- their desks at work or in their home first aid kits! I like the concept, and so do many others who have taken the course.
This is a step-by-step guide to Checking the Unconscious Child; Conscious Choking (Heimlick Maneuver); Unconscious Choking (Chest Thrusts); Rescue Breathing; and Child CPR. The other side of the card has all of the same skills illustrated, but for Infants.
This Card is currently used in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED Program courses at the Citizen-Responder level. The techniques are Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) 2000-compliant.
No home, work, or recreational first aid kit should be without it!
