Infants Books

This is an amazing book !!! Full of great tips and ideas and ways to help your baby's brain develop fully. The first time I read it, my son was under a year, now he is thriving in an acclerated school program at age 11. I bought more copies for each of my friends that had babies too.

This book is a wonderful resource for parents. It decribes how your child's vision develops and how you can support it with simple,fun games. Since we see best when we are relaxed, these activities help your child relax and to see more clearly and comfortably. There are also activities for you to do if your child is having trouble with their eyesight.

A very nice simple book that has easy to follow patterns for someone with a little sewing experience. The patterns use just a few pieces, that you can easily enlarge if necessary. The clothes are nice simple loose designs that are easy for baby to wear and easy to grow into.

I read this book in 1971, just prior to my fiirst child's birth. I read many child psychology books prior to this one, but this one strcuk me as the most down to earth. Dr. Salk's approach made the most sense. I have recommended this book to every new mother that I have met. I am trying to buy more copies of this out of print book so I can give one to each of my children . My wife and I want to enjoy our grandchildren RJD .

Oro Selket is truly a modern day Dr. Spock. His no-nonsense approach to modern life's incongruencies and his deep respect and admiration for children makes this book a breath of fresh air among the over-psychoanalized child development books riddled with untested theories that abound in bookstores today.
This guru puts it simply: love your children, teach them well, interact with them at their level and encourage them to learn at their own pace.

This book is what my mother used to teach me to swim over 40 years ago and I could swim before I could walk. I have always loved the water and I am a great swimmer (swim team helped too). I will be using "How to Teach Your Baby to Swim" to teach my baby. He is 4 months and the pool opens in a few weeks. I can't wait!

using the book and our baby is now 7 months. he loves the water, is going under, coming off the side from a sitting position while holding hands, and floating on his back with support under head (when he doesn't stick his feet up in the air). we have had some serious giggles in the pool. i still recommend this book. the pictures are great, the instructions makes sense, the author has a very gentle approach...an oldie but a goodie!

This book is wonderful. The beautiful illustrations help even young children understand the birth process. This book can be very useful when parents are expecting the arrival of a younger sibling for their pre-school or elementary school age child. That said, this book is also great for expectant parents. Most of the text is informational (and isn't is reassuring to have that unique question you have answered?). Others may find the text simplistic in that the comments are not only presented in standard paragraphs but are sometimes placed on the page around the illustrations. Definitely worth purchasing to look at at your leisure throughout your pregnancy.

I Have Been Baptized ~ by James D. McGuire and DeVere Ramsay with illustrations in color by Jeannie Holmgren. This delightful remembrance of infant baptism is unique in Christian publishing! Truly a charming little book which includes instructions for use and even a cross stitch pattern.

This book is full of messy rooms, harried parents and a child's description of her little sister; as well as the emotions she feels towards her. Every page and sentence rings with the truth. Older children will connect with the honest feelings of the big sister. The artwork is well done. An enjoyable read and a treat for the eye.

We are expecting our second child in December so I checked this book out of my local La Leche League lending library for my 3-year-old son. He loves it! He asks me to read it to him all the time.

This wonderful book deals with the sometimes-negative emotions that children have when a new sibling is born and gives them a realistic look at newborns. It is very positive and gentle - I highly recommend it!
