Infants Books

This is a simple concept book, and one I still enjoy reading for the umpteenth time. I like it best of the books in this series. The rhythm of the words and their evocations are pleasant -- like "duck and bottle," "dog and dog," and (my one-year-old daughter's favorite) "dad and baby." The illustrations are also pleasant and low-key - similar in style to Martha Alexander or Helen Oxenbury.

Children who have lived with domestic violence in their home have experienced a traumatic event. Child-Parent Psychotherapy is the most effective practice to date that addresses child trauma as a result of witnessing domestic violence. The clinicians at our violence prevention organization use this book as a guide for their work with moms and kids who have recently left their abusers. It is very comprehensive and practical. I highly recommend integrating this manual into your own practice.

In Millie Spark's book, "Down To Earth Angels", Dr. Harold E. Leestma in the "Foreward" sets the tone for the content of her book and message for the reader. Followed by her own "Introduction" the reader will be unable to lay the book aside because of the wonderful and emotional "true to life stories" contained througout the 13 Chapeters. The "tone" of her manuscript rings "Real & True" and her book is a remarkable effort to connect people to "Real Down To Earth Angels".

How often have we tried to sift through all the clutter of the encyclopedic volumes of baby care advice usually found on the bookshelves today? With Dr. Carl Robinson's Basic Baby Care, there's no problem. It's written in simple, easy-to-understand words of wisdom from an African American pediatrician who saw the need to present his expertise and experience in a format anyone could understand. And it works. Targeting a segment of the population that may or may not have a level of education needed to decipher complicated medical terms, and offering no-nonsense advice about such things as child abuse, male/female relationships, and single parenting, Dr. Robinson has succeeded, in only 160 pages, in making readers say, "THAT'S what I needed to know!"

The illustrations and poems in Drawings from the Newborn were three years in the making, as Helen Spears traveled by ferry and bicycle to the Copenhagen NICU to draw for 4-5 hours each night.

Drawings from the Newborn makes an exceptional gift for family members and professionals who would enjoy the images of the NICU through the compassionate eyes of an artist.

This book is among the first to apply complexity theory to developmental psychology, and is definitely a must read for anyone interested in either topic. When read in conjunction with Port and Van Gelder's Mind as Motion, Walter Freeman's How Brains Make Up Their Minds, and Alicia Juarrero's Dynamics in Action, one begins to see aborning the outline of a new framework for a naturalized philosophy of mind.

This was a terrific book for helping a child with eczema. I found that pediatricians do not know enough, or have the time to explain how to make your child comfortable. This book offers many specific and implementable tips for helping your child.

Definitivamente lo debes tener a la mano ya que el contenido es muy completo y te saca de apuro.
Te puede resolver situaciones antes de tener que recurrir con el medico aunque de ninguna manera sustituye la atencion medica.
En mi caso lo hemos complementado con las indicaciones de nuestro neonatologo y pediatra.
