loved this for my baby, made my own as she grew
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2007-02-12
I received this before the birth of my first child and I loved it so much, that I created my own for her second year (age 1 to 2) and now her third (age 2 to 3), and created stickers of my own on my computer. The stickers make it fun and colorful and there is plenty of room to journal all the events of your baby's life. The only addition I made to my homemade calendars was space next to the journal section each month to paste a current photo. No more hassling to try and complete a baby book, just make brief notes in your baby's calendar each evening.

Bedtime magic
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2004-07-27
This book was the magic go-to-sleep book for my daughter from ages about 4 mos. to 18 mos. It never failed. After this book, at about 8PM, she would happily be carried to her crib and promptly fall asleep -- for the next 10 or 11 hours! The book cost $5 and is worth $5000.

It is a quick read, one word per page, connecting baby to her bedtime routine, with soothing photos of different babies carrying out each step.

The only drawback is that you will, like an old boyscout reciting the scout law, always remember these words:

Rubber duck
Boat
Bath
Shampoo
Towell
Pajamas
Slippers
Storybook
Blanket
Bottle
Pillow
Teddybear
Doll
Goodnight kiss
Goodnight!

This is the perfect baby book. I was give the girl version for my daughter and I loved it so I purchased the boy version for our newest addition! I love the vintage feel to it. I get tons of compliments on the books . . I leave them in the kitchen for easy access. It's a great book for recording all of your baby's info. I especially like the immunization page. I make a record every time I get back from the dr. office.

Baby's Own Memory Box

I loved this keepsake. It is a wonderful box to have for your baby as he or she grows, or in my case, if you have lost a child. The spaces under the photo slots give the parent their own lines for saying whatever they want to. The box at the end of the photo album section was just the right size for my son's little things I will cherish forever.

We bought this book for our two year old. The pictures are so familiar to him and his delight is appealing as he calls out each word that he knows. As school teachers, we feel this book would be exellent for helping young children to build a basic sight word vocabulary. Children will be excited about the activities and objects that they encounter. We highly recommend this book for toddlers.

After having 2 children in 3 years, any relationship can get a bit stressed. I really enjoyed the point of view this book was written from. They included many, many experiences I could relate to. At times, I also though that 'Gee, things aren't so bad!'. I plan on buying this for all of my friends who are expecting or who have had a child within the past 2 years!

Dr. Malone is a friend who has served his friends well in this important book. He has laid out carefully and faithfully the exegetical and doctrinal issues involved in New Covenant baptism. Those who for biblical reasons have become dissatisfied with Arminian over-use on the one hand and pedobaptist over-reaching on the other will find the Reformed Baptist case for baptism clearly put forth. I hope his book is only the first of many modern presentations of Reformed Baptist Covenant Theology.

Excellent overview of Christian baptism
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-08-27
Michael Green offers a cogent, simply explained overview of Christian baptism that includes perspectives from the Catholic, protestant and pentecostal views. This book provides what are the basic underpinnings of the act of water baptism and what pentecostals call the baptism of the Spirit.

Green looks at the differing points of view and provides pros and cons for each of them while always supplying the Biblical and traditional applications. Most importantly, Green emphasizes the meaning of baptism--mainly that it is an act indicative of God's act of providing for forgiveness of sins and salvation for people. It recognizes the work of Jesus on the cross on behalf of people and not peoples' work on behalf of Jesus.

His objective explanations of differing doctrines are helpful and instructive. He also includes his beliefs regarding baptism. He includes an in-depth discussion on infant baptism and the arguments for and against it. He discusses the idea of being baptized in the Holy Spirit in addition to water baptism and also at the idea of being re-baptized as an adult.

As he offers opposing view points, the book is thoughtful and objective. It ultimately provides all of the basics regarding baptism. It is instructive for parents, pastors and any Christians wanting to learn more about baptism for personal reflection or teaching. If you are wanting to make a decision about infant baptism or re-baptism, this is an excellent resource.
