I am planning a baby shower for my daughter (the first time I have organized a baby shower). I have done numerous searches online for baby shower games and party ideas etc. and have found plenty of free information detailing games and ideas. I did not want to spend a lot of time constructing and printing up games however and this book is absolutely wonderful in that respect. The book comes with eight shower games and includes 15 copies of each game. The pages (a golden color with cute graphics) are perforated at the top (top spiral bound book) and tear out for immediate use. The book has only 3 brief pages in the beginning that outline the book, the games in the book and suggested prizes for the baby shower games, so if you are looking for a detailed baby shower book then this is not the one for you. If you are looking for a quick short cut to some cute games, then this is the way to go.

"Baby Signs" is a sturdy board book that provides 13 signs that are helpful for a baby to learn so that he is able to communicate before he can speak. Among some of the signs taught in the book are milk, more, diaper, book and sleepy.

Cayden: Points to the cover and says, "He's a baby, like you are a baby Max!"
Max: "Baby"

Cayden: "He threw it! There was milk in there!" (referring to the baby throwing his bowl when he was done eating)
Mom: "Who does that?"
Cayden: "Babies like Max!"
Mom: "Maybe we should teach him the sign for `all done'"

Cayden: Pointing to the illustration of how to sign diaper: "What are you supposed to do here?"
Max: Pointing to the diaper that the baby put on his head "Hat, Hat!"

Mom: "What was your favorite sign to learn?"
Cayden: "I like this one! The dog one!" Then they both stick out their tongues and pant (which is the sign for dog).

Parent's comments: Cayden and Max had already known a couple of signs that were in "Baby Signs" and recognized them right away when we got to that page. The book definitely held their interest and the illustrations as to how to do the signs along with the written directions were very helpful. I think that there is just the right number of signs so as not to be too overwhelming for a young child.

The CD didn't singlehandedly solve all of the sleep problems we were having with our 10-month-old son, but it pushed him enough closer to sleep that we could use sleep-encouraging techniques from various books. With the CD playing, I could finally get our son to sleep without nursing.

The book part of the CD was not that useful--we have much more appealing nursery-rhyme books. But the CD is why I bought it, and it was definitely worth every penny.

This book really opened my eyes to the Miracle of conception and birth in the BIBLE. How wonderful it was to find out that the women of the Bible felt a lot of the same things we do today. I highly reccommend this book as a gift to pregnant mothers!

I love this book because it offers up things one can do to help the child learn. It also tells you what to expect at different stages of baby's growth. It is easy to read and understand and offers up early intervention. I highly recommend it.

My baby loves this book. She carries it wherever she goes. I am buying this book again because the one she has belongs to my niece who also loves this book. Right now we are having to take turns sharing it. My niece can 'read' it and feels very proud of herself.

At 160 pages this is a wonderful book. The first fifteen pages explain how to read your baby's signals and such. Almost every page of the rest of the book has photos - big ones! Each page is labled at the top as to what is being expressed by the infant and there is a description for each photograph. It is separated into sections by age. It is amazing the wide range of things a baby can express. Occassionally there is a series of photos showing the progression of mood on a baby's face. For instance, the initial caution of a baby shown a new stuffed animal, to being interested in it, to smiling in delight.

Also, insights are offered. For instance, "A smile can indicate not only happiness, but also a release of tension, the end of doubt."

I found it most useful to learn that a yawn doesn't necessarily mean sleepiness. It could mean that they have had too much stimulation and want a less intense activity.

This book has helped us "read" our baby better. It has been a delight. Highly recommended.

I really appreciated the style of how the book was written because it was a difficult stage for me with my first baby. The book injected both humor and some really good tips.

I found this book to be helpful in just about evey page I turned. The book has everyday helpful pointers that revolve around you and your toddler. Toddlers covers the often-erratic years of your life with your todler, who will likely fluctuate between being an adorable,curious,energetic child and rambunctious terror. The book is easy to use and easy to find answers.

This album has beautiful illustrations throughout, with appropriate quotes and verses that are both amusing and profound. The pop-up features make it all the more fun to write in the mini and major milestones in your baby's life. I wish I had one when my kids were babies!
