The best baby book for documenting special memories

This baby book has it all. A calender with stickers for marking special events, a place to describe your baby month by month, sections for special milestones, and ample space for pictures. Truely a find for any new parent who wants to create a baby book to cherish.

A Really Great Book!

I purchased this book just after my daughter was born in January of 2000. It was a wonderful and easy way to track her important milestones and her little ones. I especially like having a picture with each month so you can see how your little one grows and changes. We are expecting our second child in October and I am buying another one for this child!

I got this book for my 14-month old daughter. She still really likes it at 2. She enjoys looking at the pictures of babies and mommies and repeating the words I read. It's also a book I don't mind reading over and over. Excellent toddler book!

Fun and washable

I bought this for our 6-month old infant daughter because she liked to chew on board books so I thought this was a good alternative. Unfortunately she continued to prefer to chew on the board books. Now that she's a year old, she's much more interested in this interactive, squishy book. Also, the tag says "surface washable" but I tossed it in the washing machine anyway, and it survived just fine.

My baby's 1st favorite toy!

We received this book as a shower gift before our daughter was born and thought it was so cute. Well, after she was born, this book became the absolute favorite, must take everywhere toy! Beginning as an infant, she loved the bright colors. Now that she's four months, her favorite thing is to grab onto the 3-D cloth characters and stuff them in her mouth. This has ended up being one of the best gifts we were given. Now I'm online looking for more books like this to give her for Christmas.

Are you a goop? If you're not sure, this book is for you! The perfect for book for children (and some adults) on etiquette. The book is funny and the drawings hilarious. Your children will be fascinated seeing how the goops are naughty, while learning how not to be one! A book that will be enjoyed for years.

A Fourth Generation Book

This is not a traditional review. It is a comment that I read it Goops as a child when I inherited it from a cousin. My children read it as did theirs! At 74, I can still quote directly ! "The Goops they lick their fingers, the Goops they lick their knives. They spill their broth on the table cloth ,Oh, they lead disgusting lives !"

It is in the group that includes The Secret Garden, Great Expectations, and coming up rapidly, The Mixed Up File of Mrs. Basil Frankweiler.

Now does some one know these lines? "Spring's the time for marbles and Fall's the time for kites.........." That book came with Goops in 1932.

How about " 'Quack', said Jerusha, 'I think I am a duck' "

The fourth generation deserves to know about these, too!

A Helpful Edition to the Series
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2004-05-12
A great sequel to the previous "Mother of All" Books. I have had the pleasure of hearing the author give a presentation and found her to be very knowledgeable, supportive and funny. I really appreciate the humorous, true anecdotes of many parents with toddlers throughout the book. This is the key comfort factor for me that grounds this book in reality..that I am not alone in sometimes being unsure of what to do and ocassionally regretting what I chose to do. The warm, friendly tone of the author, a mother of 4 kids herself, is carried through her books and adds to the comforting fact that she has "been there, done that" along with us. I also would like to recommend another book that focuses on behavior issues of 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds that has helped my family. "The Pocket Parent" is written in the same friendly tone by 2 mothers, each with 3 children. It also includes many short annecdotes from the authors' personal lives as well as from other parents relating to the hundreds of bulleted tips called "sanity savers" on every annoying behavior you can think of. Both of these upbeat, quick-read reference books are worth having in your home library.

A first-rate Canadian resource

I have been eagerly awaiting the publication of this book and was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy yesterday. I immediately sat down and read it from cover to cover. My verdict? It's excellent! I already recommend Ann Douglas' earlier books, The Mother of All Pregnancy Books and The Mother of All Baby Books, to my clients. Now I have an excellent toddler book to recommend as well.

Like the earlier books in the "Mother of All" series, The Mother of All Toddler Books is written with humour and yet is packed with all the need-to-know information: how to deal with everything from temper tantrums to food jags to toilet training. The chapter on behaviour management is packed with all kinds of innovative ideas for dealing with everything from biting to whining to screaming -- reason enough to buy the book.

Canadian parents will appreciate the fact that the book is packed with Canadian resources: leads on Canadian parenting and child health web sites, a directory of Canadian health and parenting organizations, health and safety recommendations from Health Canada, the Canadian Paediatric Society, the Canadian Toy Testing Council, and so on. It's simply a first-rate book.

In doing research in deciding to become a parent or not, I have read MANY books, but this is the only one that "tells it like it is". It is informative and realistic - just what I had been looking for.

I think this book should be required reading for young women and any couples thinking about or entering into parenthood.

Unexpected Treasure!

I came across this treasure of a book in my local community library. It reads like a heartfelt letter from a friend, who have gone through the joyous and apprehensive experience of being a first-time mother. This is a great book for those of us who do not know exactly what to expect and sometimes do not have the foggiest idea what questions to ask. Read on and know that you are not the only odd one around!

I found this book whilst on holiday in North America. The wonderful pictures and clear written style/layout made it easy to follow. It is packed with information and covers every topic a new parent needs to know. It really does go that little bit extra. Worth every dime.

I AM A FIRST TIME MOTHER AND THIS BOOK CONTAINS ALOT OF VALUBLE INFO. THIS WAS MY FIRST PREGNANCY AND I WAS NOT SURE OF WHAT TO DO, WHEN TO DO IT, HOW TO DO IT AND SO ON. ONCE I HAD MY BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL, IT ALSO PROVIDED ALOT OF INFORMATION ON BREASTFEEDING, BATHING, MASSAGING AND NIGHT TIME HINTS. THIS BOOK IS A GREAT ASSET FOR A FIRST TIME MOM AND I RECCOMEND IT VERY HIGHLY!

I found it very interesting. I learned so many things I did not know about this theme. I am not an especialist in the field. As a matter of fact, I am a translator and I had to choose a text as a final "work" to get my college degree; so I picked this up because I thought it could be of help for the kinesiologists and all therapists in the reabilitation institution where it was provided to me. As a book, I think it is brief, complete, explicative, easy-reading. I am sure it is an excellent reading and handbook for any especialist in the field, and believe me, I am quite certain of that.

The best baby book!
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2000-06-14
This is such a great thing. Both of her books are my sons favorite since he was even able to see. They were the only thing that kept him occupied for a few seconds. The best thing about them is that they are accordian style so you can pull out the whole book and it seems to impress babies quite a bit! my son LOVES them! I carry them everywhere I go. This one with the animals can be kind of scary because the animals are making strange faces. I would get the Baby faces one first.

My daughter has loved this book since she was tiny!

I was given this book at a baby shower, and started showing it to my daughter when she was only a few days old. She loves it, and it never fails to bring a smile to her face. The animal faces, and the babies aping their expressions are a riot! Even as a newborn, she was fascinated by it. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

I was given this book as a gift when my daughter was born. It is absolutely my favorite for little ones. I love books, we have hundreds, but this is the first one I reach for when I read a story to one of my kids when they are very young. Super sweet, adorable book. I love it and have almost memorized it.
