I absolutely loved this planner. It was perfect for every day life, and fit into my bag very well. It's definately the best in the way of planners. I just wish I could find the one for '99!

I had never heard of Anne Geddes before. My sister was nice enough to send me a 1999 Calendar of babes. Every one in the office, including my self loves her work. Some had even thought about collecting. One concern. We would had like to see more babes of color (different nationalities). But all of the babies are so beautiful, you can't help but appreciate this ART. (Just a suggestion)

I took a class on assessment methods and of all reviewed, the Carolina proved to be one of the best. However, people need to be aware that it is NOT a formal assessment tool and should be used as a guide. The great thing about the Carolina is that it is very user friendly, making it a great tool for parents to use with ease.

This book, or should I say this manual, is really important and helpful. I am a Ph.D student and I know exactly what it does mean to have a manual like this in schools. The manual gives you a chance to evaluate your students with special needs. Additionally, the manual follows the new trends in assessment and evaluation process through linking the assessment results with educational or intervention purposes. By using the Assessment Log and the Developmental Progress Chart, you, as a teacher, can link the ongoing assessment information with the IEP information for your students.
This manual will help you understand the developmental level and deviance for your students, as well as how to plan for age appropriate and functional interventions.

Though I live on the Westside of Los Angeles I often go to the San Fernando Valley and while there pick up a copy of The Warner Center News. I once noticed an ariticle by a Childcare director named Bette Simons that caught my attention. Being both a parent and now a grandparent the title hit my interest. It was called "Discoveries that come from living on the floor" The article so well described the dilemnas and delights that both parents and toddlers experience in this new setting of a childcare facility. I was motivated to seek out Ms Simons articles each time I went to the Valley. Only recently I discovered that articles pertaining to this age group are now published (as of l997). I doubt there is an parent that has not experienced the joys and frustrations of a child's development. I highly prompt parents to grab up a copy. When starting this review I noticed that Ms Simons has 2 other books in print. Good news and I will buy them ASAP.

Busy parents will find this humorous and easy to read book very helpful. It handles with a "down to earth and get to the point" approach real and everyday challenges which face all families. Separation anxiety, temper tantrums, troubling but common behavior are just some of the issues addressed in a wise and pratical way. This is definitely recommended reading for any parent.

In this book the chapter about twins really stands out and has more to say in five short pages than most other literature on the subject. The difference is that where others see twins more or less as freaks of nature on whom one can test ones ideas about the nature-nurture-issue, Winnicott sees them as individual persons. Where others stress the obvious fact of their similarity, Winnicott stresses that twins are two different persons right from the outset and that being a twin has its advantages, but also its drawbacks for the necessary task of developing ones own personality. he observes that while most twins get along well enough, they often did not manage to distance themselves enough to really love each other. This is a thought-provoking piece.

Winnicott is so right on with his observations, and in this book his thoughts are accessible to anyone who is interested in learning about how children experience the world and grow into being a part of it. His tone is so compassionate that one just knows he must have been a wonderful therapist - and person. His ideas are easy to follow and he writes as if he is speaking to you, as a friend and a wise person.

I operate a group home daycare in Michigan. Before we moved to our new location 3 and a half years ago, I was printing out single sheets of paper each day to send home with kids' daily info. This was a hassel, especially when you consider the cost of ink and paper..and the inconvenience of running out! In addition, I learned that some of the parents were keeping each and every paper that I sent home as keepsakes! This journal is spiral bound and perfect. I have ordered one for each child that I've cared for in the past 3 1/2 years! I have no idea what the total number has been. I keep a pile of these books on the piano by the front door and make notes throughout the day. It goes back and forth in the child's backpack each day. I would highly recomend this journal. I researched several similiar ones before I began buying this one. This one is the best because it works well for any age. Some are designed only for infants..and some only for preschoolers. If there is anything that doesn't apply (like a bottle), I just write NA in that space. It's perfect. This book has made communication much more efficient!

Fabulous! Ms. Marvin has designed a wonderful product to keep the lines of communication open between childcare provider and parent. Communication is so important when providing quality childcare! Each page has ample space to record the events of the child's day. What a great idea! This book also will serve as a special keepsake as the child grows older.

As a professional childcare resource and former childcare provider, I was very impressed with this book. This is a must have for every parent and childcare provider!!

Carol Flexor has created a great text that explains all the facets about hearing loss and amplification equipment and then adds the appropriate therapy techniques to consider with this population. Easy to read and apply to your students with hearing impairments.

Cole and Flexer are on the cutting edge when it comes to teaching children with hearing loss to listen and speak. If you are a professional or parent involved with a child with hearing loss, this is a must read!

This book is a wealth of information; I've already tried many of the parenting techniques provided with great success. It never makes it back to my bookshelf for long because I am always referring to it. What's more, the information is presented in an objective, non-judgemental way. You are never made to feel like you're a "bad mother" just because you can't stay home from work or have trouble breastfeeding. It simply provides all the information you need, then the decision is up to you to decide what's best for you and your baby. A nice change from some of the other parenting books that seem to be written by authors who believe that their way is the only way.

This is my first parental experience for me and my wife .we expect a little girl in a few months. We are very excited and we are trying to get prepared as best as we can. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Book of Pregnancy and Child Care was really a very good choice, it was recommended by a friend whose case is very similar to mine. The book is very good to read and use as a reference too, it is very detailed dealing with every case the mother may have from serious illness to leg crumbs .The book really covers all three stages of pregnancy, childbirth and childcare in a way that satisfies you and keeps you away from the headache of buying other books for such stages. Having such source of information covering mother health during and after pregnancy, baby's nutrition, signs and behavior milestones gave us too much confidence to deal with our first child in a professional way. One last comment is that the book is very bold at stating facts that may harm your baby like for example what smoking may cause to the baby. I think the book is reliable, complete and advanced

Nicky Weiss captured the quintessense of older sister's feelings as a new baby is brought home and after some time the girl realizes that the baby is here to stay.

An absolutely wonderful book about a little girl who is the apple of everyone's eye until her baby brother arrives. How she deals with being out of the spotlight, and how she moves out of jealousy to a strong bond with her brother, makes a great story for the preschooler who is suddenly displaced by a new sibling. Our family copy has been passed around to friends so much it's in tatters. A pity it's out of print-- look for it in your library.

Grate book, concised and helpful especially if your are assigned in the emergency room.

This text is excellent for getting information on the material taught in ENPC for nurses. The information is clearly written and highlights those issues encountered in pediatric emergency practice. Nice work.
