Lost 23 pounds

I started this diet after hearing Dr. Gundry speak in a radio interview. I had just taken a cholesterol test at that time, so I was compelled to go on the diet and see if I could lower my cholesterol without the use of drugs... which I was on. I was very strict... no cheating... and lost 23 pounds in 90 days, and lowered my body fat percentage to 12.5%. I never felt that I was fat, but my main concern was my cholesterol, mainly because every man in my family has died of heart disease in there 50's. Well unfortunately, it went right back up to over 300. However I felt like a completely new person and I am very happy with the results. I wish Dr. Gundry was more available via email, I want to talk to him about my blood test, but I could not find any email on him at all.

It really works, I feel better than I have felt in years. I have lost 16 1/2 pounds in less than two months. I have more energy than I had at 10 years ago. It is not hard.

It could save your life, or at the very least - extend it greatly.

If you're interested in living a long and healthy life, buy the book. It not only teaches what to do but also it teaches why we must do it. Everything rings true. I'm doing it - it works - it's easy - it makes sense. We have evolved to a grain & sugar based diet today which is calorie dense/micronutrient poor. Hence: Entire populations are obese. We need to reverse the habit and consume micronutrient rich/calorie scant foods and thereby normalize our weight, health & longevity. Good luck to you regarding your wellness.

A couple of illnesses in the family triggered my fourth re-read of this wonderful book.

I agree with all the positive reviewers here.

Dr. Fulford had wonderful insight into the medical field, questionable medical practices, life, living, and the afterlife.

One thing I didn't see mentioned in the reviews is the exercise section of the book. It has 8 unique exercises that are for overall health, nothing to do with athletic ability or conditioning.

This book is a keeper for sure, and one that you will re-read, too.

This is an excellent book reviewing the amazing Doctors way of using his Ostopathic training. It is a profound reason to consider Alternative Medicine over the oft accepted Allopathic way. A most enjoyable read.

A friend of mine who is a massage therapist and is exploring cranio-sacral work gave me this book. I have had pains in my lower back and neck for several years now; i've also been through some painful events 20 years ago, and again 10 years ago with the loss of my respective parents. My current life is very busy with famile (children), work and projects and emotionally difficult at times with a strained relationship with my husband. Overall though I'm a positive and upbeat individual believing in the spiritual and soulful nature of humans, beyond just mind and body. I've been more and more interested over the years in the relationship between body, mind and spirit since the death of my mom which has been a very difficult and painful event for me at a time that I was just starting in life (I wasn't 20 yet).
I am considering seeking treatment with a DO for my back and neck pains, and reading this book has emphasized the importance for leading a balance life and not just 'patching' some areas with perhaps a visit to the chiropractor's office that will mostly focus on the spine or taking muscle relaxant medicine or simple pain medicine. This is a great book, with a lot of food for thoughts and practical exercises for anyone to do. I am thankful to my friend for giving me this very valuable book and wish that I would have received it while Dr Fulford was still alive so that I could have thanked him for giving this testimony to us.

The reviews explain this short book very well. I really enjoyed the first few chapters. His transition into more philosophical healing ideas in the later chapters didn't do as much for me, but if your a fan of Weil or even Chopra you'll appreciate them.

Dr. Fulton really makes the reader consider Osteopathy as a medical alternative.

A Bully Grows Up: Erik Meets the Wizard

As the baby boomer generation reaches the 'new middle age' we search for new information to assist in creating a more healthy and viable future for us, our parents and our children. The connection between our daily environmental and personal stressors and our overall health is important. Studies have proved that stress has a significant effect on our longevity. As an author of a children's book regarding bullying behavior and frequent speaker regarding the topic of bullying and stress, I am keenly aware of this connection. This book offers a vast understandable quantity of information regarding our predisposition to DNA damage and offers easy to follow steps on how to hold on to or improve our health. A great navigational aid for our journey into the future.

I have been an anti-aging patient of Dr. Giampapa's for over 5 years. My energy levels are high, my body is muscular and my skin is the best it has ever been. I look and feel fifteen years younger then my acutal age. Dr. Giampapa is well ahead of many medical practitioners in his understanding of the human aging process and therapeutic interventions to slow it. The Gene Makeover-The 21st Century Anti-Aging Breakthrough describes the newest findings in the field of Medical Age Management and explains very complex information in a plain simple language that everyone can easily understand. This book is a must read for all who want to remain healthy and active.

Gene Egidio ; "Torch of Socrates"
Helpful Votes: 7 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 1999-05-22
Historically great souls have appeared on the Earth destined to assist humanity through its modern day plights. Gene Egidio displays the humility of such a great being.

If one were to take a historical perspective, we would find with all great souls, a common thread. While these individuals were commonly termed "Stand Alones," in reality they "Stood in Oneness." The Oneness of a "Godship" that guided them in humanity's work.

Winston Churchill; "We shall never surrender," Martin Luther King; "I have a dream," Douglas MacAuthor,"I am guided by God," Jesus; "Love One Another," Gandhi, Buddha and Lincoln are just a few examples of the servers of this Oneness.

Their common denominator ..."Selfless desire for Unity." Gene Egidio clearly carries the eternal torch (love/wisdom) of Socrates and other notable "Brain Trust" in his enduring life works. He is a living example of what Jesus meant when he said "Love One Another."

His book is priceless because for those who can see, those that can hear, and those that can feel, it holds a valuable key to unlocking the worlds within yourself. Change yourself and you change the world.

Thank you Gene, it doesn't matter "Whose Hands Are These" because truly to Know Thyself is the eternal gift. After all, could the answer be ... These hands are OURS?

Do you know how about my feeling when I got the book and skimmed through it at first? I found it is just what I am hungry for cit indeed is an excellent source of information for beginning the study and research of adenovirus and its application in gene therapy. The book represents the tremendous effort of the author in presenting a comprehensive map of adenovirus and covers both the biology of adenovirus as well as progress in gene therapy field. Indeed, it is very important for one to grasp the basic and systematic background knowledge and get insight into the update progress before he begins something positively, of course adenovirus-related research field also is no exception. And it is difficult for one to attain this goal within a short time without such a adenovirus topic-specific volume. At last, my suggestion for reader is that a shortcut for your successful Adv-story is to read it at first; for author is that it will be more comprehensive and practical if a particular chapter dealing with basic methodology is included in the second edition in future.

This is a well needed reference. It's rather small, about the size of a large pamphlet, but it's got an amazing amount of information packed into it. There aren't enough books out there describing this form of cancer. This one is very well written and I would recommend it for anyone diagnosed with ovarian cancer or anyone who knows and loves someone with ovarian cancer. It answers all the questions you might have and takes a serious look at the myths out there. It's very informative and easy to understand.

Walters and Palmer present here a solid argument regarding the impending technology of human gene therapy. They walk through the science carefully, but the core of the book is on the development of criteria for when trials in gene therapy would be acceptable. While this reviewer does not agree with every stand they take, the book will be a classic in the ethics of gene therapy because of its careful argument and thorough analysis.

I'm very glad I read the Fidget Factor. It was short, simple, and motiviating. Just reading through the different activities I learned that at almost every point in my day I can find opportunities to move, just a little more. I work 70-80 hours per week and have trouble finding time to exercise. Reading this showed me that there are many little things I can do to increase my level of physical activity, and burn extra calories. Michelle
