I've never looked at this book, but an important message from one of my colleagues:

Be aware that there is a major error in the dosing of insulin for the
treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis published on page 10 of the 1st Edition of the above reference book. In the second paragraph it states that "The usual dose is 0.5 to 1.0 U/kg/hr,..." If the MD looks at Box 1-3, Guidelines for Management of Diabetic Ketoacidosis, the proper dose is indicated.

The usual dose should be 0.05 - 0.1 U/kg/hr

This book has chapters written by a variety of authors. Some of the authors write very well; others leave something to be desired. The text by Balint Kacsoh is a much better overall buy.

textbook of endocrine physiology by james E.Griffin(editor), Sergio R. Ojeda (editor)

This book is excellent for anyone interested in the basics of endocrine physiology - unfortunately it fails to go into sufficient depth for anyone trained to at least an undergraduate level knowledge of physiology. Some sections are reasonably detailed, but the treatment of the adrenals was way too brief to be effective.

Worthless! Doesn't tell you anything you don't already know. If you want the full information and an easy reading book, read " Feeling Fat, Fuzzy and Frazzled" by Dr. Richard Shames, and Karilee Shames.
