A beautiful little girl and her family and all that Victoria does, at school, playing games with her friends, at ballet, at
the farmer's market, etc. in her busy day. Just gorgeous pictures throughout and a wonderful presentation of inclusion. I
love that the Down syndrome aspect is only mentioned on the back page. My two young daughters love it!

I recieved Victoria's Day by Maria de Fatima Campos as a gift, and what a delightful book. I wish I had this book when I
was a Special Education Paraprofessional. Inclusion is not only benefical for Victoria, but to all those she interacts with.
Because she has Down's syndrome doesn't mean she can't take part in educational or social activites. This book show her interaction
with peers, and hopefully these experiences will be the foundation they need to make them more sensitive and emphathic to
others during their lifetime. We need more books that cover Down's syndrome and the successful transition to independance
and adulthood. Great job, and wonderful pictures!

This was an excellent book. I was looking for alternatives for my 2 boys who were diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. The psychologist
wanted to put them on ritalin, right away. I can now say, thanks to this book, it got me started on my research for a more
natural way of supplementation of vitamins and minerals for my kids. They are now SAFELY on the road to recovery and I have
already seen good progress.
Easy to understand. Very informative.

I am a nursing home social worker and was given this book to read for Christmas to know what it is like for my clients and
their families. Everything Doug Manning says is SO true and helpful. I wish that I could order them by the hundreds to give
out to my families! It is such a quick and easy little reader.

This is the best book I've found on the adult child's dilemma when a family elder's care requires nursing facility placement.
It covers a breadth of feelings and responses of both the adult child and the elder, and gives sensitive guidance.

For the young woman facing breast cancer

Nancy Reuben Greenfield's book is a one-of-a-kind find. Young women experiencing breast cancer often have the added pain of
facing the experience through the eyes of their young children. This book helps mothers and other adults find the words to
explain beast cancer and mastectomy simply and sensitively for the very young child. The theme centers around the effect
from the child's perspective, namely the difficulty in "hugging my mommy" as she recovers from mastectomy surgery. The book
offers mother and child ways to deal with this stressful time. It is probably ideal for the 4 to 8 year-old girl, but would
also be suitable for boys and for older and even younger ages. The combination of sensitive words and exquisite illustrations
by Ralph Butler brought tears to my eyes.

I work as a psychiatrist in an academic setting, and use this book frequently for teaching purposes and as a reference for
residents and students. I used it extensively for Canadian psych boards preparation. It is especially valuable because it
gives perspective to new research by giving the history of research papers that established for example the use of Lithium
(on which little has been written since the 70s and 80s), it also describes very well psychosocial treatments for a wide variety
of mental illnesses, much more clearly and exhaustively than in the Kaplan and Saddock, for instance. It also reads very well.
Highly recommended

In searching for a way to work with a child in the autism spectrum, I stumbled on this book, and was immediately drawn to
it, since I have done yoga myself. After reviewing the book online, I tried this with a group of autistic students. They
immediately loved the simplified/adapted movements, poses and breathing exercises.
I would recommend this to a parent/teacher or therapist who is working with autistic children/teens.

My brother has autism. We all try yoga together. He a little slower at it, but my mom says it relaxes him. I'd like to meet
the kid in the book. He looks like he is about my age. I think you would like the book. It has a lot of pictures.

If you are in early intervention and are not already familiar with ABI (Activity Based Intervention), this book is absolutely
necessary for you and your program. A mom and an interventionist, I have seen the best and worst of intervention approaches
-- the approach laid out here is logical, complete, and responds to potential problems. Any program can be adapted to include
activity based intervention, and anyone entering the field should be familiar with these pretexts. I highly recommend this
book.

This book was found to be extremely helpful in development of a new aquatic facility for the developmentally disabled. It
is a good assistance source in identification of program focus with excellent and clear suggestions for specific populations.
Additionally, it offers ideas for practical applications with issues such as transfers, emergency procedures, and facility
modifications. I love it, use it frequently as a reference, and refer to it in teaching new staff and university student

This is a fascinating book that combines brilliant legal scholarship with cultural studies and social theory. Rollins has
done something wonderful here. His argument about the ironies and silences within legal discourse on AIDS is provocative and
convincing. I highly recommend this book.
