Every day people are finding out they are diabetic. Counting Carbohydrates adds years to your life if you find yourself to
be a diabetic. This book actually can help with meal planning for both the type 1 or type 2 diabetic. Sometimes it is just
not practical to count carbs at fast food locations, beginning on page 557 is the fast food section. The calorie and carb
content in this section is quite a revelation. It is very practical stuff. The book covers it all: from breakfast bars to
candy, cheese, and cornbread to every type of food you can come up with, these pages cover everything. This book actually
saves lives because it gives you the facts. The diabetic no longer can do the death dance with the facts in hand. As a funeral
director I often see diabetes as the secondary cause of death. The truth is there is still no cure for diabetes. This book
is a welcome tool in blood sugar control. Every Diabetic needs to purchase this book.

This book gives an great overview on sport nutrition for a wide variety of sports and touches on subjects such as hydration
requirements, and pre/post event nutrition as well as what is myth and what is fact when it comes to what to do and what not
to do. Recommended for anyone working in the sports/health industry and anyone looking to begin or better their athletic coaching
skills.

A very enlightening, easy-to-read nutrition bible. Unlike most nutrition books which deal with one major issue, Complete Nutrition
deals with most nutrition topics which makes it very useful to keep at home as a reference book. I enjoyed its style and
I found that it makes a great gift for friends and family.

Although not OA approved literature, it is well worth any OA'er reading. The author states that the BIG BOOK is still the
bible, and he reads it often, but his book shows us overeaters the 12 steps from a compulsive overeaters perspective. Something
he said helped me to return to program something like its not just another diet program, it's a "save your life program".

I wrote this book because there is a lot of confusing information regarding the best ways to control weight in a way that
keeps you healthy and unstressed.
With all the headlines regarding obesity and the fattening of America, weight control has become a national obsession. But, we know- you know- that diets don't work- it's a lifetime lifestyle. There are no two ways about it. But, a lot of my friends have tried constricting regimens that have turned them into weight-loss automatons. They get so boring in their single minded determination to lose weight. And, just when they reach their "goal," they go right back to doing the things that made the weight creep up in the first place and gain back even more. They end up hating food and, even worse: themselves. I couldn't take it any more.
My approach is to just get it right the first time. Love food and love life. Get out there and live it- don't wait until you're at your perfect weight. Go play with your kids- or borrow some- to sneak exercise into your day. Eat the fruits and veggies. Don't super-size it: use a to-go box. Cook beautiful meals at home.
Some of it is as easy as cleaning out the cupboard under the sink: put your cutting boards and colanders under there instead of toxic waste. You eat more fruits and veggies and lower your risk of caner all at once. Other parts are a little difficult: like taking time to plumb the depths of your own soul. OK- a lot difficult.
But the result is worth it, I promise you. I even had a picture of my 45 year old back side published in a cruise line catalog- in a swim suit. No Kidding!

I bought this CD because I own other Gael Chiarella meditation CD's and have found them all to be very helpful. This is a
good meditation even if you don't have any major eating issues but would like to make some better choices. The pacing and
the language that Gael Chiarella uses in her CD's is excellent in that it isn't pushy. She speaks with a beautiful, encouraging
and calming voice. The pauses between suggestions leave time for the messages to be absorbed and integrated. I was eating
healthier the very next day without effort. The meditations are segmented so that a quick meditative "tune up" in a particular
area is quickly accomplished.

After years of looking for feminist perspectives on eating disorders I came across this amazing book. What makes this book
particularly unique is that it is edited, and contains the views of many different feminists and feminist therapists. Not
only was the theory the most useful I have read, but this book also contains many helpful ideas for how feminists (and feminists
working in the mental health field in particular) can best help their clients who are struggling with eating disorder and
body image issues. Anyone who works with eating disordered clients cannot pass this book up--it is WELL woth the money!

skillfully takes the reader through an understanding of how the digestive system works, how you may be diagnosed with a digestive

This books gets right down to it. No useless filler pages showing you how to cut green beans, or how many variety of tomatoes
there are. You get 330 recipes, and for the price of the book that about 5 cents a recipe. And they are tasty and innovative!
There is a small section in the front of the book about weight loss and how to figure you BMI and caloric intake needed. There is even a 14 day meal planner to get you started eating healthy.
Each recipe is laid out in a very easy to read format and shows the calories per serving and prep time. The recipes run the gamut from appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and much more. I have tried a few and they are incredibly tasty. You won't even know you're dieting!
The best thing is that the recipes are uncomplicated while being satisfying and low in calories. There is literally a recipe on every page. You are getting alot for your money here.
