A great help. Full of factual information and practical tips from parents who've "been there." It's a valuable resource for those of us who have a child who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

I was loaned the 2nd Edition in the hospital after our son was diagnosed with ALL. This book is so valuable to the family to help you learn and weather through all the processes you could face during this difficult time. I knew I had to have my own copy and bought a second copy of the 3rd edition to share with other families through the hospital. Many other members of our family intend to buy their own copies of the book as well.

If you are hungry for information, buy this book. It calmed my nerves and made me a better team member in my son's fight against cancer.

Our Son was diagnosed in April of 2006 with ALL Leukemia. Trying to understand all of the terms, meds and schedules is hard enough. This book is written by a Mom with the help of her Doctor's expertise. It puts very scary helpless feelings in laymen's terms. This Mom goes into detail on how to comfort and successfully treat your child. She gives you her experiences on what works and what doesn't and what to expect. It is also an up- to- date book, whereas many books were written years ago. As a Mom who has gone thru 7+ months of this diagnosis, I wish someone would have given me this book the moment our Son was diagnosed. It's great for the whole family to read as well.

As a grandparent of a recently diagnosed 3 year old with ALL leukemia I have found this book an important resource for me to understand the treatment for this terrible disease. The descriptions of the types of chemo used and its side-effects have been particulalry valuable during the early months since the diagnosis. The book is comprehensive with all aspects of the disease and is full of anecdotal and suggestions for coping with this disease at all phases of treatment. It also offers lists of available resources to be accessed. I highly recommend this book for parents, family members and caregivers.

Wish this book was available 23 years ago!

I have been a survivor of ALL Leukemia for 23 years now, and really wish there were books like this then. But now is when all these books are coming out, I am trying to find a book or information on how long term survivors can cope with the long term issues we face.

Topics like planning for college, buying a home, saving for retirement. These are issues my mother addressed with me, and now it is too late to start addressing these issues for me. For others it is not to late. We are surviving longer, and this is a new arena for the doctors and social workers need to address.

This book has changed my life ... much for the better. After reading the solid scientific studies relating to nutrition as it relates to disease, we changed our eating habits in concert with the author's recommendations. The result: 10 lb. loss of weight, cholesterol drop to 150, blood pressure down 20 points and PSA stabilized.

The book presents well documented, well written, well illustrated material and is an easy and interesting read. I have recommended it to many of my friends and family who have followed the same advice to their benefit.

THE CHINA STUDY is a powerful, compelling, controversial blockbuster which dispels many modern myths.

Drs. Campbell and Campbell expose the truth, gleaned from decades of research on nutrition and cancer. They draw heavily on results form the largest human study ever attempted; a group of 835,000 people living in various provinces in China. They de-mystify and expose the correlation between animal proteins and the incidence of cancer in humans.

It may come as a shock to learn that dairy products and meats of all kinds (including fish) can dramatically increase the likelihood of getting cancers and heart disease. The balanced diet from the "four food groups" proffered by the AMA may be a recipe for disaster. Consumption of all animal proteins can lead to a much greater likelihood of getting ill from cancer.

What then, plants? Perhaps. Proteins obtained from plants appear to be the answer and, in some cases, can actually reverse some of the ill effects of an animal-rich diet. Who knew the American breakfast of meat, eggs, milk, butter and other animal-based foods could be killing you?

I also recommend "Eat to Live" by Fuhrman who draws from the China Study in his eating handbook to live healthier and lose weight.

I must thank Amazon for their understanding and support. I made a mistake of ordering two Audio CD'S instead of a book.
Therefore, Amazon has agreed to refund me for the wrong purchase of the two Audio CD and now I am placing the order for the book.
Thank you for your support.

Are we in control of cancer and heart disease?

Author Colin Campbell concludes that the answer to cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity, etc... is known and within our control.

I was well aware of how the formula industry is destructive to breastfeeding.

I am familiar with how pharmaceutical companies have their own interests in mind when it comes to research and your health isn't their priority.

I have noticed that in every chapter in my medical books suggests more fiber, less fats, more produce, etc... but without emphasis, just a "little" suggestion.

I've have noticed that nearly anything that comes labeled with Busch, Kraft, School Box Tops should not be eaten.

I was not aware of how powerful these food industries (and meat and dairy corporations) are over nutritional research. Meat and dairy industry are to good nutrition what the formula industry is to breastfeeding: undermining, financially self-motivated and selfish.

He grew up on a cattle farm certain that beef and dairy does a body good.

Systematically he describes his life on the farm and his strong beliefs about the "benefits of protein."

In his academic research he expected to find that meat and dairy protein would prevent cancer in Asian children. He found the exact opposite, "Animal proteins, all of them, are dangerous to our health: leads to heart disease and cancer." As he continued to do research, all his studies confirmed the nutritional benefits of plants and the hazards of animal protein. He describes how big corporations are covering up these facts in the name of profits. Research and spending continues on to find cures and supplements, however nothing replaces good nutrition.

He has been a vegan (no meat, no fish, no eggs, no cheese) for like 15 years after giving up all that fresh milk and beef from his own cattle. It makes me think about my nutrition and the impact on my long term health.

It makes sense to me that the antioxidants and enzymes in plants would suppress cancer growth, prevent arteriosclerosis (an inflammatory condition), improve sugar regulation, fat metabolism (cholesterol and obesity), improve blood pressure and much more. Fortunately, his research also shows how some of the damage can be reversed.

Before you drink that milk, I recommend this read.

Jessica is wonderful! This book is encouraging and inspiring to anyone like myself who has been struggling with their weight for a long time. She encourages us to be healthy, but her definition of healthy includes accepting and loving your body and rejecting the media messages about what healthy should look like. Reading this book was like a refreshing talk with a close friend.

YOU CAN'T FEEL FAT -- BECAUSE FAT IS NOT A FEELING...

If you're tired of dieting, this may be the book for you. Jess's book is a breakthrough experience for anyone who has struggled with self-appearance and self-esteem....and isn't that most of us. She believes that by focusing on what others tell you are your shortcomings-- you miss opportunities to feel connected, sexy and powerful. Whether you're a size 2 , 12 or 22 or beyond-- you can benefit from Jess's words of wisdom. The motivational speaker, author and self-described "actionist" versus Activist...writes in plain English and tosses in some great motivational quotes from famous people and some fun facts about self approval and more. Twelve chapters plus an afterword are included..and the chapters are fun to read-- get this even if you don't have the time to read it-- just scan it and you'll benefit -- I promise...ANyway the chapters range from Decoding the Language of Fat...to the Famous or should I say infamous question most women ask daily "Do I look Fat in This? to "I Feel Fat" to If I were Thinner, He'd Love me" to Thunder Thighs Run in my Family to Ch 6-- I'd be so happy if I looked like a Celebrity to 7) Once I lose some weight..... to 8) All of my Friends are not and I'm not...9) But I'm jsut trying to be healthy to 11) [...] 12) Sorry I don't speak that language. Quizes, roleplaying experiences and fun quizes are interspersed with TAKE ACTION steps...Probably the most important thought though is that YOU CAN"T FEEL FAT -- because fat is not a feeling-- and if you read that section alone (I don't want to steal her thunder with her response to this) ...you'll benefit greatly...AN amazing lady and a fun, easy-to-read book that's great for girls above 12, teens, college chicks and women of any age...great to get this before the holiday parties start! Fun birthday gift...

I loved Jessica Weiner's books A Very Hungry Girl and Do I Look Fat In This. Therefore, when I saw she had a "new" book out, I immediately ordered it from Amazon without paying attention to details. Please be aware that if you already own Do I Look Fat In This, you do not need to order Life Doesn't Begin 5 Pounds From Now; this is the same book with a different title and a new forward. So now I own two copies of this book with different covers, but I don't mind so much because it is filled with wonderful information for not-slim women like me. Guess I must have needed to re-read it, huh?

I can't begin to describe my difficulties of growing into the body I am going to have as a woman, but I don't have to because Jessica did it for it for me. There are very few ways to describe how it feels to read "Do I look fat in this?" except to say it's freeing. As I turned the pages I would eat up every word & little by little i could breathe easier.
Jessica is the start of something amazing that i want to be a part of!!

There are many fine books to tell you about sugar in your diet. This book however is the most concise with over 500 practical, easy to read and remember suggestions to really help you to get the sugar out of your life. It gets right to work with what it tells you. Particularly excellent for someone who already knows a lot about the dangers of sugar but wants to have practical , intelligent and doable suggestions you can begin following immediately after you read them. Excellent simple recipes which are not complicated are also included. A must have . A must read for anyone who is seriously wants to get the sugar out of their lives especially anyone with conditions that require sugar be eliminated to gain or regain their health e.g. obesity, diabetes, etc. Great!

Everything I was looking for and more

This book was everything I was looking for and more. After reading "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty, I wanted a practical "how to" book to help me cut excess sugar out of my diet. However, I am not an anti-sugar extremist and wanted to find creative ways to get rid of unneccesary excess sugar, while keeping the sweetness and taste in my food, including desserts, and "Get the Sugar Out" definitely provided that.

The book suggests varying levels of sugar extraction, from simple sugar substitution to complete elimination, making the book applicable to anyone and everyone wanting to cut some or all of the sugar out of their diets. Ann suggests several alternatives for refined sugar and white flour that are worth exploring. I found sucanat and fructose to be excellent sugar substitutions. Also her glycemic index is handy, though not as exaustive as other books I've seen. I've tried several of her recipes with success, and have raised the level of nutrition of my own recipes using her tips and substitutions. Overall, I enjoyed her wholesome approach to food, and will continue to refer to her book often when eating out and cooking at home.

I think that this book was very helpful. The background info about the dangers of sugar/sugar substitute consumption and the diseases/conditions related to sugar/sugar substitutes was concise and informative. Personally, I am not going to make use of all 501 suggestions, but with so many ideas, I found a bunch that are going to help me kick the sugar habit (hopefully!).

A very nice feature was that among the 501 ideas, there were also a bunch of recipes that look really good, and they're (for the most part) healthy.

I would recommend this book!

No Medical Reference Library Is Complete Without This Book

For those of us who feel the need to take control of our own health issues, or our loved ones, by utlizing our gifts of independent analysis and choice to decide what medical protocols to pursue (whether conventional, alternative etc.), no medical reference library is complete without this extremely thorough and courageous book. It is thorough because many similar self-help books I have read do not cover any of the issues tackled here. It is courageous because the author, a board certified neurosurgeon - Dr. Russell Blaylock - is a whistleblower in taking on areas of medicine that have been for far too long accepted without public challenge to procedures and protocols long understood by the experts as harming masses of people. I don't know of any other book by such an expert who would ask, and answer, questions like - why are we dying and/or made seriously ill from poisoning by mercury, fluoride, food additives, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides - and what can we do about it? You will never regret buying this reference at this bargain price from Amazon. It must may save or life...or someone whose life you treasure. Thank you Dr. Blaylock!

I think this is an excellent book. The most important health book I've ever read so far. I haven't finished the book yet, I'm halfway through it, but already, half of the book I've read so far is the most informative stuff I've seen with answers to questions I wondered about. The book sheds light on some of my medical problems and is pretty comprehensive, it seems, about the ill effects of each of the substances addressed. I'm writing before I totally finish the book (i've gone ahead and looked at the suggestions for treatment) with the hopes that Dr. Blaylock reads these reviews. I would love for you, Dr. Blaylock to write a book with equal detail about alternative treatments. You've touched on some of it with your vitamin suggestions and some chelation recommendations. I wonder though, what types of vitamins would you recommend, synthetic versus food based? What about those fillers in the synth. vitamins, some of the fillers in these vitamins look strange, with weird names. A lot of them contain magnesium stearate and some other unpronounceable stuff, excipients which I'm not sure are good for us. The Organic Consumers Assn did a write up about the rise of cancer with the rise of synthetic vitamins. What about that type of stuff? Also, what about diet? Are some foods better than others? Are there foods that chelate I've heard cilantro, but how much can that chelate? Is MSG damage permanent? Is there a way to reverse this if a person has had years and years of MSG? Also, once you have Parkinsons or early Alzheimers, what can anyone do? Also, if the brain is elastic, can you recommend activities that can help us along with vitamin/food treatments. This is what I'd like to see next. I'm going to buy several more copies of the Health and Nutrition secrets as presents for Christmas to friends I care about. Thanks for writing about this stuff, it seems you are the only M.D. to write a serious book about these issues? I hope that other MD's read this and actually learn from it.

This book is used in one of my courses (M.S. in Holistic Nutrition) through Clayton College of Natural Health. It is written academically, and for most readers it is not a casual read. I believe that it is worth the time to pour through, underline, make notes, and dog ear this book! If the general population were to become educated about these facts, it would change the view of our commerce and the health of our public. For example, rats fed MSG become obese even though the calories/exercise did not change. This MSG fat is also resistant to exercise and calorie restriction. Sounds like America! Take the time to read this, get mad if necessary, do what it takes to educate yourself about the misguided direction of our governmental agencies that make the public "think" that all these chemicals are safe. Then tell everyone you know.

This book quite possibly saved my husband's life!

Review Date: 2008-09-08
My husband had been suffering from a myriad of unusual health problems following a back injury. He was given several epidural injections in his back in an attempt to alleviate the injury. Those injections shut down his immune system and caused the mercury leeching from the fillings in his teeth to build up to a toxic level. I had been receiving the Blaylock Report and decided to check this book out. Needless to say the chapters on fluoride and mercury were eye-opening to say the least. We located an environmental dentist and he is undergoing removal of the mercury poison in his teeth and chelation to remove the mercury from his body. The lab testing done showed his mercury levels were in the 95 percentile before beginning chelation. They have been reduced dramatically! Had we not found this book, I don't know if my husband would have survived. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would! THANK YOU DR. BLAYLOCK!

Why don't some of these diets work? Metabolize tells you why

I took one look at this book and bought it immediately. The idea that one person's metabolism is probably different than another person's makes a lot of sense to me. And why do all these fad diets assume that they work for every type of person on the planet?

First you take a self-test in this book to determine your type. Then you can figure out a diet based on relative amounts of certain nutrients you need. Apparently, certain nutrients have exact opposite effect in some people--a high protein, low carb diet may be absolutely WRONG for you. I sure would like to know that BEFORE I decide on a diet plan.

I also like the fact this book includes exercises, breathing exercises and recommendations for supplements and vitamins. The calorie levels are also set so you can pick one that suits your size and sex (not everyone should eat an extremely low calorie diet.) Of course the book also has sample menus, which are always helpful. Finally, the paperback edition is a reasonable size to fit in a purse or in a briefcase, meaning it can go with you anywhere.

I wasn't sure if I was Atkins, Pritikin or NO KIN to any of these (turns out I am mixed, so that is why I had trouble) This book is really excellent and I can recommend it to anyone who wants to lose weight and eat right.

My last effort was the high protein diet because it was all over the news and best sellers list. I gave it 100% effort for 6 weeks and couldn't take it anymore. I was misearble and constipated! After deciding to forget about dieting I ran across Metabolize on Amazon and decided to give it a go. Best diet I ever tried! I found out why the high protein diet didn't work for me and why it will not work for many people. I found out I am lean metabolizer who can enjoy carbohydrates and lose weight with them. I feel great and my energy is high. No more constipation!!!! I lost 49lbs in 5 months and found it easy to stick with the diet. I think everyone should try Metabolize. Thanks for reading my review! I didn't even get past the diet. First, there are all the different ratios of proteins, carbos, and fat, depending on your type. Then there are different foods depending on your type. Then you can factor in blood type to make this even more complicated. If you are single this may be great, but I am cooking for a family and not everyone is the same. Way too complicated for me.

i am a night owl that needs 9 hours sleep.
even daylight savings time messes up my body clock.
.
you may be one of those people who jets around the world and has no problems. good for you. but if you do suffer from jet lag this book will show you how to prevent it.
.
we used this book when we took the kids to europe for their graduation.
6 time zones away and i was in sync within a day and had no trouble keeping to their time zone for the full two weeks.
.
forget the scoffer and skeptic here who claims it is just anecdotal.
it works. and he cant prove that it doesnt. all the other folks here , giving the book 5 stars , who actually used it are proof that it does.
.
who you gonna trust - your own body or someone who never tried it?
.
it would be nice if it had a shorter version to just do it , without reading all the theory. but you can skim the background info and just do what it says to do without a lot of effort.
.

A must for any time-zone traveller

we have used this book and the method for more than 20 years - with children from infant to adult age! You actually start following this method 3 days before your departure. It truely works!
The first few pages explain how your body works, how caffein works, and how that can be used to overcome jet lag. The next 80 same pages you look up the individual time zones that apply to your trip. That's where you find the diet schedule for your personal trip. In the back you find several pages of food items and sample menues, that allow you to put your diet together according to your own tastes. Overcoming jet lag with this guide is EASY. We have followed this Jet Lag diet for about 5 years now. We combine it with the NO-Jet Lag homeopathic remedy. We never have more than one day of slight jet lag. Interestingly, the airlines seem to use the jet lag diet strategy in the meals they serve on the plane--at least in business class.

Concise yet detailed book outlines a highly effective program to beat jet lag, no matter how many time zones you may be crossing, no matter what time of day or night you are traveling.

Basic theory behind the program is described well, but most of this nice, short book is a full how-to for every possible flight... time zones involved, direction of flight.

Reader simply looks up the schedule that best describes upcoming flight, and follows the instructions. But don't do this at the airport the day of the flight. Diet must be altered three days in advance of travel.

My family and I have been using this for 15 years, and we swear by it. The only time it hasn't worked for me is when I've tried to cheat the system (watched an in-flight movie when the book said I was supposed to be sleeping, that sort of thing).

Unfortunately, most airlines do all they can to keep passengers stuck in their departure time zone (ensuring days of jet lag for all), but this book shows how necessary it is to board the plane and get right into the arrival time zone. It does take a sense of discipline to follow the program while in flight. In general the flight is not particularly enjoyable if you're following the program and are therefore out of sync with all the other passengers, BUT if you are a business traveler or don't have the luxury of wasting several days, you will find that the short-lived discomfort is insignificant!

A highly useful book for the international business traveler... would make a nice gift for someone going off on a round-the-world or other long flight. (But give it well in advance of the travel)!

I have used the program detailed in this succint little book for 10 years now, beginning with a trip from Los Angeles to Thailand. After following the program and flying for what seemed like days, I arrived at midnight. The following morning I was fully functional and alert at 10 am and suffered no symptoms. I recently used the program for a trip to London and back with no appreciable jet lag. The book explains in very simple terms how our body clocks work, and how modern studies have learned how to reset them quickly and easily with a minimum of deleterious effect. One starts the program from 1 to 3 days prior to travel, and much of the book is filled with detailed instructions for each time zone interval. It does take discipline to adhere to the program while on the plane, but with a little effort it can be done and the result is definately worth it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who travels by air. It will make your journey far more enjoyable and you will have more time to enjoy your stay instead of recovering from jet lag for days. A must read for business travelers as well.

Not a good first read. Mr. Bruno is depressing. I suggest Dr. Silver's book Post-Polio Syndrome, it is excellent!

I had polio at the age of 5. I was so much luckier than alot of Polio Survivors. I got Dr. Bruno's book from the library and read it and read it at least 3X. I have recently ordered the book through Amazon and I am so excited to receive it.

He is an exceptional man, who writes so we can all understand. I will be meeting with Dr. Bruno and his team the end of March, I do not know where my new journey will lead me but I know that I will be safe and in the best of care. I recommend this book to anyone who has had Polio or has unexplained weakness, pain and fatigue everyday.

Reading this book I felt like someone had entered my life and could see my thoughts and frustrations. It was strange. It is so true- we were taught avoidance of the issue. As a nurse I learned about polio in the past tense, and had read few articles on PPS. I had seen polio survivors, even gone to school with a couple but never talked to them and when problems started did not even know who to talk to.
Dr. Bruno covers just about every physical and emotional aspect-- now if I can just retrain myself to take care of me.
I was able to go to the Clinic and meet with Dr. Bruno and he is as genuine in person as he seems in the book. All the built up anxiety came tumbling out in a rush-- because this book showed he has pulse on my life as a post polio patient and seemed to CARE!!.
I think this book should be required reading for all in the medical field.

"Ah ha!" are the words I'd suck in as I read Dr. Bruno's book. After a year's research on my own, I found the PPS Institute and Dr. Bruno's book. Those of us who had Polio (or didn't know that "it" was Polio) only knew one thing - we were over it and had to get on with life and catch up ASAP. We had fear at our back door, and it pushed us onward, every minute of our lives. For me, after cancer, I kept thinking "Its just the chemo" but I had been told in 1982 I had PPS and "Use it or lose it" was the theory protocol, so I kept going like I was short in the back with a "22" fearing I'd lose some dendrite that would nourish a neuron, and the first symptom I had (in '82) would come back. Instead, I became worse - the results were what drove me to discover Dr. Bruno's book and go to the Institute: hundreds of falls, broken bones, lacerated head injuries, tripping for the past 50 years and feeling like a clutz, when I was known as the regional "Happy Tom-Boy" BP (before Polio).

By the time Dr. Bruno told me to just "rest - chill for a few weeks" I had to do it; nothing else worked. It DID. I read the book again, and again...trying to find a glitch in his neuro-networking and neurology statements, but I couldn't. So, I did go to the Institute.

Everyone who knows anyone who's had Polio, or any sudden onset illness, or even as my little sister, used to drip food out of her nostrils at age 2 (it was Polio - 1954), must read this book. Be prepared to talk to doctors - they must have PPS as part of their required CMEs NOW. Post Polio surivors can no longer accept mediocre care, and repeated anesthesia "accidents (as I did)." With or without insurance, humans have a basic right to respect and care. I had Polio - I knew I did - and the fears associated with going "back" into it were at times paralyzing in itself...thus I kept swimming daily - often for three hours and lifting weights, anything to avoid breathing problems again, or the horrid stiff neck, or ... seeing my arm next to me and not moving even when I yelled at it!

Post Polio Paradox will give the reader the information needed to take to the medical professionals, and to educate themselves, and . . . gradually, safely, comfortably, change their lives from the fatalistic Type A personalities (which did get us through the horrors of Polio), but paradoxically - aptly put, can destroy us now. IF we are real, we will be able to see our 'worn' parts, accept them, and move on to another phrase in our lives - taking care of ourselves. "Polio Class of 1950"

Barlowe`s Guide is a classic! A Field Guide for the Sci-Fi Novel.

I remember getting this wonderful book when it first came out and being amazed at seeing such professional paintings of the creatures and beings from many of my favorite science fiction novels. The illustrations are so well-done that even non-sci-fi fans enjoy them. The sketchbook section in the back of the volume is particuarly fun to look at.Anybody who has read some,or all,of the novels Mr.Barlowe used to people "Guide to Extraterrestrials" will get a kick out of comparing Barlowe`s version to the version you created while reading a particular novel.Over the years I have either lost or lent out 3 copies of the 'Guide'...and I always replace it.
Thank you for reading!

The artwork in this book is fabulous. It's a neat little companion book for sci-fi fans; it has wonderful illustrations of all the various organisms that have been portrayed in some of sci-fi's classic and canonical works. And along with those illustrations? Little one-page write ups on their biology, social structure, etc.

Once I saw that there was a Velantian in this, from E. E. Doc Smith's Lensman series, I was sold, and had to get it. Done as a page by page look at each species the artwork is excellent, and these are the sort of funny looking monster types that kids like too, so it can work on more than one level, most definitely.

Good book. I have owned this since I was a child. It was a great portal into many of these classic Sci Fi books as I would have never heard about them otherwise. Barlowe has a fantastic nack for bringing life to these aliens. Highly recommended.

Darren Main's book was great inspiration for me. I began yoga 11/07 and our group has some recommended books and Darren was recommended. Darren was also interviewed by my instructor. I enjoyed what Darren had to say so I purchased his book. The book is GREAT because it is real and about a real person, a real guy! Recently I attended an intensive retreat in New Mexico and I truly believe that I brought home more from the experience because of Darren's book. I will continue with my practice and work on study as well. Thank you Darren - I recommend your book to everyone interested in learning more about yoga and how to integrate it better into my life.

This book was chosen by the book club at Cosmic Dog Yoga in Livermore, California. I found it to be an amazing book not only about the various limbs of yoga but also about deepening your awareness of self and the oneness of everyone around you. Darren is an amazing teacher of life and brings a wonderful gift of healing to this world. He is a great inspiration. This book is a must read! I will buy it for all my friends for the holidays - yogi or not.

I have tried to read many books about yoga and the eight limbs, but for the most part, I usually get frustrated and feel disconnected and quit. Darren Main has done something very unique. He has woven some of the more difficult concepts (and quotes from those "frustrating" books) and brought it all down to earth. I would recommend this book to anyone trying to deepen their practice, but not quite ready to isolate themselves in to the wilderness. It is a great easy read and really inspiring.

I had the delight of taking John Main's classes at the Yoga Tree when I lived in the Haight in 2002. I just re-ordered thsi book to read it again, my first on being purchased from the Yoga Tree. His honesty and simple, straight on writing and thoughs are inspiring and make for a great, motivating book.

As a relatively new yogi, I found Darren's book to be a fascinating read of the Eight Limbs. I hadn't a clear understanding of each until I read Darren's words. Not only do I feel a much deeper understanding of each limb, but I am able to deepen my practice. Darren's book was as wonderful as he is a person! Thanks, Darren.
