This book is more of a rapid pre-exam revision guide. The writing style is very monotonous, archaic and brief; no effort is
made to rationally explain concepts. Instead the authors presume you know the basics, thus you will need sound fundamental
knowledge of radiological physics to make out heads and tails. If you are looking for an exhaustive text look elsewhere. I
give it the 2 stars only because I cleared the first FRCR examination by revising exclusively with this book. (Of course I
have read other books on this subject previously). Be warned it will require a huge effort and perseverance to read this "gothic"
book. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEWBIES.

This book has numerous incorrect answers to questions. I am currently registered in ob-gyn and a friend of mine passed the
abd registry. We both found this book to be confusing and inaccurate. There are many better review classes or books available.

The book is not very visual except for the quiz at the end of five chapters. More radiograph figures adjacent to descriptions
are needed. It doesn't help that the cost of the book was dropped by $17 after I bought it. Also there's no Index.

I had this 2 vol set for a cross sectional course- The pictures were poor quality, the labels ambiguous, and the author had
a tendency to be inconsistent with viewing aspect- one image is a sup/inf view, and the very next one is exactly the opposite-
and although recognizing the anatomy from different aspects is important, this book did so in such and random, disorganized
manner. The orientation went against all of my training as a radiology and ct tech, since the image orientation was not consistent.(the
right should ALWAYS be the right, doncha know?) I do not recommend it to imaging professionals, as there are better books
out there, but it might be ok for medical students or the like. Overall, I began to despise this book to the point that I
gave it away as soon as class was over, and I found myself using other texts and online resources to study, because the book
was just too confusing!!
Heaven Help You! If you are required to buy this for a class!

This 2 volume set is horrible! The diagrams in the Applications book are vague and confusioning. The way that the Concepts
book is written is just terrible it is jumbled and runs together. It is impossible to besure that you are labeling or even
answering most of the questions correctly, let alone all of them. Diagrams in the workbook that are totally different then
the ones in the Concepts book and you are suppose to label them? correctly? There has got to be something better out there.
I can not wait until I am done with this class, I will see if everyone wants to come over to my book burning party!

The format of the book is fine and information seems to be good. However, not sure where the blame lies, but someone should
lose their job over this product. All of the images in the book (of which there are more than 1000) are incredibly small!
Each image is 1.2" x 1.3" in size. That's only slightly larger than a postage stamp. It's bad enough for the whole body PETs,
which admittedly being nuclear med are not extremely high resolution, but come on, you can hardly make out ANY details. And
the correlating CT's, I have to place my nose against the image, or truly use a magnifying glass, to even get a hint of the
abnormality they are apparently showing. I am all for being green, but this is ridiculous. Think of your PACS monitor being
on a 300 matrix (which no manufacturer would even conceive of) for these images. Absolutely incredible. This book needs
an immediate revision to redo it; as it stands, worthless and was returned.

I am sorry to say this book is a great disappointment compared to the other very good books in the series. The author comes
across as arrogant instead of informed. The illustrations are not as useful as they could be, not of much introductory help
for the residents or deeper reference for those in practice. Pablo Ros book (CT and MRI of Abdomen) is much better, if you
can find a copy.

it is not available anywhere.
So, expect long wait if you order.

I guess not much to add beyond my title. No matter what is the quality of the text the pictures totally disqualify the book.
Similar title - Chest X-ray made easy - is printed so much better and one actually can see some detail. Additionally X-ray selection concentrates on massive pathology obvious to nearly anybody, even with minimal medical background.
