Diagnostic-Imaging Books

This Book has really helped me. I'd had it & just brought it for a co-worker. Will highly recommand. Only disadvantage is that I wish it would of had some picture for the anatomy, especially of the vascular system; like circle of willis, heart, etc.(even if small ones).

This is poorly done as it contains some erroneous information, mismarked images, and is not up to date despite its recent release. I do not recommend it as a reference as it is misleading and difficult to understand for a simple handbook. A listing for major branches from the aorta has veins mentioned. A right kidney is actually a left kidney. Suggests use of 256 matrix for most routines studies which is an outdated suggestion. Some of the information is OK, but I would not recommend.

For the physics that want to go deeper in quantum optics, a really good book.

I bought this CD purely for the CME credit. I am a board certified radiologist. I got thirty hours of credit in the comfort of my living room. I'm not sure how they came up with the 30 hours, you might take 10. The cases are limited in scope with only a single image per case. This CD won't help those of you looking for review before oral boards. Only worth the money for the CME. 375 bucks for fifty teaching file cases is too much. An interesting touch was a program that read aloud the case discriptions. Probably used by all those vision-impaired radiologists at VA hospitals.....

That said, I do hope that Dr. Baker publishes future CDs on a single topic 100 or more cases in a single subsection (ie chest or bone) would be nice. Several images per case would be helpful esp. some cross-sectional imaging. I did like the web-browser based format. Buy this CD and see how they did it if you want to publish your own cases.

The problem with this new series of books is that they contain only lists of differential diagnoses and do not contain the text which usually places the pathology within the clinical context. I guess it is the way the want to write textbooks now but it is very incomplete. It may help you to pass the speciality exams but you will not be able to function as a neuroradiologist. Buy the regular textbook by Barkovich instead, it is simply a masterpiece and I own 3 versions of it. The bibliography at the end of each chapetr is also incomplete and will not help you if you want to serach for something more (if writing a paper for example). Anyway I guess I am biased against this new format.

I thought this is a case-based book like the rest of the series but it is not. the chapters are broken according to the Ultrasound appeance e.g. liver hypoechoic lesions, liver hyperechoic lesions and so on.
It's a new approach not like other books but i beleive the case-based approach is better. i recommend Diagnostic Imaging:Ultrasound if you want a smart Ultrasound textbook.

This book is aimed at medical students just starting out in a basic radiology course. I was looking for a book for use by a primary care physician, out in practice, for help in sharpening skills a bit in order to better read some of those films that may be more difficult for the primary care physician. Not really enough radiographs, lots of text--fine if that is what you are looking for.

This book provides an excellent quick reference for any busy CT office.The broad spectrum of reference studies and protocols are an excellent platform to create and build a well rounded protocol base. This book also provides the basics to the first time spiral users and provides a quick information base for the experienced tech.

it is easy to read, it has basic infomation for any physician interested in head and neck imaging.
