An incomplete, factually inaccurate overpriced farce of a book

This textbook is a thorough and up to date review of nuclear cardiology. The chapters on physics, instrumentation and radiopharmaceuticals are clearly organized with chapter subheadings that allow the reader to quickly search for specific details. What was most impressive to me about this text is that it has not only the required technical information, but also includes the most recent literature on outcomes, prognosis, and cost effectiveness. The inclusion of these topics makes this book more than just a technical reference. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to keep up to date on the latest concepts in nuclear cardiology.

This is the best introductory spectroscopy book on the market. A must read if you are just beginning to perfom MRS in your practice

This compendium purports to cover the gamut of MRI spectroscopy, but, in reality, only Dr. Castillo's portions of the text seem to be well edited enough to contribute substantially to the body of knowledge as it currently stands.

Very user friendly. I found the book full of information valuable to my practice.

I am a CT tech in the ER at Bellevue Hospital in NYC. When i bought this book, i was new to scanning so I didn't know any better. This book has random pictures of brain pathology with very brief explanations of what you are looking at - in NO PATICULAR ORDER! Some pictures are of contrast studies, some are non-contrast, and others simply do no say - all mixed together! I don't know who the winner is who wrote that this book helped him when working without an MD on location, b/c I wouldn't want him scanning me if this was his only aide in detecting acute pathology! a complete waste of money, and I'm angered now that I was fooled into thinking it would help me learn. complete garbage!

I recently returned to Emergency Medicine after 15 years of Family Practice and was faced with the need to read head CT's when the radiologist was not available. This book will keep you from sending anyone home that needs to see a neurosurgeon. I found the size, format and info all precisely what I needed.One day the radiologist, walking by, noticed me reading it and reminded me to put it back in his bookcase before I left. He thought it was his copy!

The great strength of this volume is that it covers essentially every clinical area that now involves fMRI. Of course, some areas, such as fMRI applications in Epilepsy are well-developed, and will be common clinical procedures in the near future. Others, such as using fMRI for hearing disorders, are still the subject of early studies and a standard clinical procedure has not yet been developed. If you need a well-written review of the cutting edge in numerous clinical areas,this is your book. The book also has some great images of clinical cases that I plan to scan and use in my courses.

But it is a lot to spend on a book which doesn't cover anything new except for that which is experimental and quite a ways away before reaching your local theatres.
I suggest you let the rads you work for buy it for everyone, and you go have a very nice night on the town instead.

I went through the case review series for the boards and thought they were great. Some were better than others, it's true - but this was one of the good ones. All I can surely say is that this was the only dedicated GU book I used (with a quick review of the Requisites)and did well on the GU section.

This book is not designed as intended for a board review. It is fill of CAQ level cases, with less than optimal images and is set in a 'what am i thinking' format. A waste of time and money.

This is a good book on musculoskeletal MRI. A little on the pricey side but most books in this category are pricey. Previous review stated that there was no mention on Bankart lesion. Bankart and Hill Sachs lesions were described in the shoulder and arm chapter. In fact, there was an illustration showing both lesions. There are many good illustrations in the book which solidify the depiction of pathology on MRIs. Each chapter contains labeled anatomic images so to orient the novice reader to the anatomy, which is a big plus. In summary, the major advantage of this book over others is the many illustrations which are worth more than long winding sentences.

For the size and price of this volume, there is very little in here. For example, there is no mention of Bankart lesions, a common injury that is not discussed in its short description of shoulder instability. Surprisingly there is more information in the thinner and cheaper Kaplan book. Perhaps his new edition is an improvement.

The purchase experience was just horrible.
Paid for next day delivery, but was informed -after purchase payment was made- that the deliver was scheduled for the next 4 days.
When tried to cancel the order, I was told by the agent from India that this was NOT possible.
The book I received was not in it's original package.
I will NOT recommend this site to any one.

If you are looking for an easy to read and concise nuclear cardiology text book, then this is a book for you.
I wouldn't waste my time reading the physics part ( get the Chandra book)but otherwise this is a superb book for the clinician.

If you are a cardiology fellow setting for the nuclear cardiology boards you might want to consider using this book as your main text.

As I complete my radiology residency nothing has been more instrumental than the Requisites Series. I consider the collection of books as essential reading for radiology residents.

This is one of the Requisite series that is not up to par. The book is too brief and this really shows when reading the text, which is abrupt to the extreme. This makes for a very tedious read, and you often have to reread the same paragraph multiple times to figure out the point. There is also a noticable paucity of pictures (big no-no in radiology), and the illustrations provided are of poor quality. I recommend you physically pick up this book and browse thru it before plunking down your hard-earned cash. Addition to review: I recommend checking out Donnelly's Fundamentals of Pediatric Radiology. It's smaller and cheaper, well-written, and much better in terms of content and practical facts for pediatric radiology.

This is a great little pocket book. The pictures are detailed. It's a wonderful book for a new tech.

It's an okay pocket book. But I needed more explanations to go along with the images. I'm a beginner.
