Diagnostic-Imaging Books

This is an excellent book to use if your fresh out of med school, pa school, or nursing school. The book is easy to read and gives excellent info that will aid in diagnosis. Again excellent ref. book for healthcare professionals trying to understand lab values or which labs to order for a patient etc.
Did I mention it's a pocket guide too!!

Ann Obergfell is an attorney and radiologic sciences professor who has become an authority on medical and labor law issues related to the radiologic and medical imaging sciences. This text misses very little, it has full chapters on not only the traditional areas such as negligence and malpractice, documentation, standards of care and patient rights, ethics, & risk management, but also addresses critical areas such as labor law, discrimination in employment, safety, whistleblower protections, and issues for education of students in clinical centers.

The strength of the text is in its down-to-earth applicability combined with a strong academic undercurrent with proper citations and references to case law as well as the literature of legal issues in the professions.

This is the one med law text that needed to be written.....now it's available.....if you are serious about administration, professional issues, or education, you really need to have this one on your shelf.

I found radiography school easier than passing the arrt exam. This book was easy to assess and learn what the author is explaining in a concise fashion. I also found "Limited Radiography" to be a wonderful book for studying for the law and ethics portion of the ARRT examination in Radiography. This is a concise, clearly written book which is a "must have" for anyone working in obstetrics today. Ms.Menihan knows her subject inside and out and explains technical material in an interesting and understandable way.

Prof R Von Kummer, one of the opinion leaders in the domain of stroke neuroimaging has gain managed to put together a very nice book on MRI of stroke. As we know there are quite a few books on this subject around at the moment. This is one of the better ones. especially since it does not just concentrate on acute ischemia, a subject on which there has been quite a few not-so-great books written recently, but he has chosen to integrate also other the imaging of other ischemic syndromes in this textbook whci at the moment is the definitive work in this area. Also, he has tried and managed to get authors from the different schools of opinion on the subject to contribute so that there is for once a balance in the opinions that you will not find elsewhere. This makes this book a necessary addition to any neurology or radiology library.

This text, which has subsequently been replaced by the 2003 Fifth Edition, is by far the best treatise of MRI at it's basic level. It contains numerous colour illustrations, often supplemented by clinical images, to illustrate the rather confusing physical principles of MRI. Included in the book is a CD-ROM containing two useful software programs. The one, MR Expert, is an MRI simulator, where, using real clinical images, one can change image parameters and immediately see the effect on the clinical image, and the raw data in k-space.

As a professor of radiology who teaches MRI Physics to radiology residents, I often use this text and the included software programs to demonstrate the complex world of MRI physics. Every radiology resident interested in understanding the basics of MRI physics should have one (insist on the latest version though !! - currently 5'th edition (2003)).

Truely a usefull book that helps you identify any easy step by step way to have more uptime, trouble shooting and creative ways to find alternative vendors. A must for all!

manual of diagnostic ultrasound

If you are an entry level radiology resident like me this book is for you. It tells you simply what to do and what to say in the middle of the night. Accompanied by nice illustrations and with great portability.

Highly recommended. Better than the old Lipton's radiology resident survival guide and that old book titled "Emergency imaging".
