Dr Phillip takes the reader on an anatomical journey, exploring all the ups, downs, rights and wrongs of surgery for the colon, rectum, and of course... the anus. This journey is not without it's share of danger, however Dr Phillip always reveals the perfect solution to the reader. I have no doubt that this story will continue to shock, intrigue, and amuse readers for years to come. I highly recommend this book, it is a fascinating read, and it contains frequent use of the word rectum!

a classic

A book can not be responsible for humanity development imposibilities. If there are no cures for many disease, like psoriasis, there are though much more disease control therapies than in the past. One should remember that a few decades ago, syphilis, leprosy, and many others diseases were important mortality and morbity causes, and the development of knowledge and dermatology dramatically changed the natural history of theses diseases.
Many other skin diseases became curable and many others are responsible to newer therapies, with unquestionable quality of life improvement for many people with skin diseases all over the world.
Rook is a classic. It is the most important reference dermatology has.
If one compares different editions, will be a testemony of incredible clinical dermatology evolution since last century

Dr. Goldman covers the topic from A-Z. He cover both the smaller (spider) and larger verins in his book which is not a large volume despite its price. He provides the young physician with a concise, orderly manner with whihc to approach the problems in his practice, the tools, medications, methodology and and the forms both for record keeping and legal implications. It is a "turn key" program that if done with attention to detail will serve the new pracitcioner of this medical discipline well, whether dermatologist or plastic surgeon

This text is a fantastic resource for the practitioner new to the treatment of venous diseases. It is an indispensible tool in setting up a phlebology practice. The appendices of office practice tools (i.e.-eval forms, consents, manufacturers) was a wonderful suprise. Bravo!

All You Ever Need To Know About Your Skin

This book is properly titled "The Skin Sourcebook". I purchased "The Skin Sourcebook" after spending some time in Guatemala working with some doctors. I found I needed to know more about certain skin conditions and diseases. This book was exactly what I was looking for. It covers every possible skin condition, has tips on taking proper care of your skin, discusses modern medications used by doctors, and takes an in-depth look at all types of skin cancer. After reading this book I have been able to discuss with many people certain prevention's they can practice to take care of their skin and (Thanks to Dr. Boyd) I have recognized the risks I have been taking with my own body. Trying not to sound too cheesy, I must say that this book is a life savor. I suggest to anyone with skin to pick this book up and spend some time taking care of yourself.

Brilliant work and so clear and helpful

Small Manufacturer's Toolkit: A Guide to Selecting the Techniques and Systems to Help You Win

Not just for small manufacturers
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-08-13
The business advice in this book applies to manufacturers of all sizes, not just "small" ones. About 4/5ths of this book's information can be also helpful to a host of occupations outside manufacturing: service businesses, creators of intellectual property (I ran a recording studio) any many others.

The price of this book is substantial. Still, it's a lot less then the tens of thousands of dollars it would cost to hire someone to travel around the U.S. Asia and Europe collecting the same competitive intelligence what methods the industry leaders use to improve their operations.

One Nice Package!

I looked for months for someone who could do a presentation on selecting the right tool for a small manufacturing company. Experts all said, "Wow, that would be a really good topic. I don't know who could do it." Now we know. Steve Novak has pulled it all together in a nice package with a personable style. If you are manufacturing anything and don't know which tool is right for you, get this toolkit!

This book is a must for every clinician involved in the care of newborns, whether in private practice or academics. Every hospital neonatal unit should have one also. It discusses a multitude of congenital and neonatal skin disorders, many accompanied by excellent color pictures. Included are chapters on fetal skin development, structure and function of newborn skin, premature skin, and neonatal skin care. There are many concise tables on diagnostic and treatment issues, as well as differential diagnoses. Every attempt was made to include the latest information on pathophysiology, genetics, and treatment. This is a long-awaited book that will boost our knowledge and understanding of neonatal skin disorders, as well as improve the care we give to newborns.
