Great text, nice updates... only problem is the PDA download is not available until an estimated mid-June. There is no mention
of this on the website or even on the download card that comes with the textbook. You won't find this out unless you contact
the publisher.

The good doctors Shelley are my favorite dermatology authors; I have read and enjoyed many of their pithy, insightful and
truly helpful texts. I learn more in a single page of reading Shelley than in some chapters of other texts!
This book, while different in style, is no different in terms of the outcome. It is more colloquial and more story-like, but as riveting and densely packed as ever. There are multiple levels of learning: each case, while unique, has something to teach about a symptom, syndrome or presentation, while the overarching theme is one of looking more deeply and thinking about underlying causes for disease. An outstanding book!

This is a powerful and important book written by two pre-eminent physicians discussing 62 intriguing and remarkable cases
of "orphan" patients who did not have a proper diagnosis or treatment for their unique condition.
These eloquent vignettes are relevant and important to medical students, residents, and physicians, and most certainly to patients who have perplexing and challenging conditions for which diagnosis or treatment are lacking.
This book uses the inquisitive nature of Sherlock Holmes to deduce and aid the forgotten or dismissed patient. It inspires me as a physician to ask more questions and seek more answers, and in the words of Churchill, "never, never, never give up."
I highly recommend it.

This is a great book because it has great info and pictures, but it is consolidated into a quick reference. When I am seeing
pts in the clinic I don't want a 12 page description of a condition; rather just a quick review and a few good pics. If you
have ever matched paint colors with the color strips this "book" works very similar. It is a stack of cards essentially broken
up into loose categories of similar conditions (ie: vesicular rashes)... you can almost look up the discription and flip the
pictures until you find one that matches... the info is on the back ofthe cards mainly, some captions are on the front under
each picture.
Its a great book, esp. you don't want every known detail in the world on a condition and just the facts!

This is really neat. The pictures are great and very user friendly. Can fit in your lab coat. It covers many of the major
derm situations in primary care. I like the treatment section, it seems more thorough than Habif's larger red book. I'm
fortunate to live in Dr. Habif's neck of the woods and attend his wonderful lectures so it helps that I know and respect the
author.

This book is recommended by me all the time. I wish I had found it long ago, but better late than never. When my husband found
this book he paid a lot for it and I thought, "It's not going to help." I was so wrong! This book is excellent and researched
to the max. I wish the authors would do an update!

Dr. Michael Moore has MD has done a splendid job in his comprehensive overview of a very complex and unknown disease. I have
found myself referring to his book often as I travel my journey of porphyria as an AIP patient. Porphyria is a greatly undiagnosed
and underdiagnosed disease. Dr. Moore has taken a complex disorder and written his book in such a way that patients can
better understand their disorder and at the same time be able to share that information with others who are completely unfamiliar
with porphyria including many primary care physicians. An excellent resource and reference book!

Dr. Ackerman once again has produced a excellent review of a very important topic in medicine. Those cosidering the purchase
of DYSPLASTIC nevus most likely will be dermatologists, pathologists and physicians who have a special intetest in nevi and
malignant melanoma. This comprehensive text compiles all of the currently available pathology and scientific understanding
about one of the most challenging conditions in pathology.Dr. Ackerman's review is complete, easy to read and will be a very
important reference to those who are interested in the current thinking about Dysplastic Nevi. I highly recommend this book.

Since 1978, when Dr. Clark published his paper on the "B-K Mole Syndrome", this has been one of the most highly charged topics
in the field of dermatopathology. Dr. Ackerman and colleagues slice through this topic with such ease that it makes one pause
to ask why there was ever such a controversy. However, there still is considerable controversy about this topic throughout
the dermatology community. If, however, more pathologists, dermatopathologists, and dermatologists would read this book and
understand the premises the authors examine, it would clear up immediately so many of the so-called "issues" about these benign
neoplasms that the controversy would go quietly into the night and be heard from no longer. This book is not only interesting
from a historical perspective, but it also examines every major issue surrounding these lesions.

This book is the abridged form of the larger Skin Pathology book written by McKee. It has excellent ,sharp colour photographs
including many close up pictures of the rare entities of dermatopathology. There are short notes below each photo to give
succinct point of the disease entity . It is an essential book for any trainee pathologists who is aspiring to be a dermatopathologist
and also serve as a useful reference book for the busy pathologists who just want pictures to compare with their routine
diagnostic work. Overall, this book is good value for money and I would definitely recommend for trainees' pathologists.

Simply the Holy Grail of known physiopathology of oral tolerance, compromised oral tolerance, and all conditions linked to
food antigens, additives, and appurtenances related thereto. While several years have passed since publication, a review of
the last several years literature accompanied by reading this text will add immensely to the clinical competency of any physician
or dietitian rendering care. No where can the physician or dietitian find this much information on this subject in one text.

foreheadplasty. Informative photos from cadaver, endoscopy and illustrations are included. Knize's published articles on Journal
of plastic & reconstructive surgery regarding this topic are well organized in this book for better understanding. I recommend
it.

There has been a lot of development of novel statistical methods in the last decade which has resulted in a better understanding
of genetic disorders. There are not many existing books on the subject. This volume is a collection of excellent papers written
by some of the renowned experts in the field. The papers range from the basic concepts in genetic epidemiology to applications
of some of the most recently developed statistical techniques like CART . The precautions that one needs to take while analyzing
genetic data have also been addressed in details. The final chapter by Newton Morton is a treat to read and provides a great
overview of the future directions in the field. Overall the book will be very helpful to all genetic epidemiologists in their
research.
