The most Up-to-date Dermatopharmacology Book
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 1998-12-22
This book is the most Up-to-Date dermatopharmacology text with detailed insight into many systemic drugs for dermatology. It is an excellent supplement to the original classic dermatopharmacology text, Wolverton and Wilken's Systemic Drugs for Skin Diseases. However, this book is a bit pricey for a book with no color illustrations.

A must have for all dermatologists
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2007-07-16
This is an excellent quick reference book. I usually get a new version of the Litt text every couple of years just to keep the information current. It is a must have for the dermatologist's office. It gives a quick reference source for cutaneous drug reactions. I use it more than any other book on a daily basis. It is far more useful than the PDR or other similar drug books. Look up the drug, check to see what it can cause on the skin and elsewhere - as simple as that. There are even listings of anecdotal reports. If you have never used it, get it. You will wonder how you did without it.

Best ECG book I've ever seen as a med student !
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 1999-04-29
I took an ECG course while in my third year of med school and flunked it. I had a lousy teacher who tought us to look for certain patterns in the ECG without understanding why they look like they do. I was desperate and hated ECG! Then I came across this book who belonged to a friend of mine, and I started to look through it. I spent almost a whole week going over it from page to page, and I LOVED it! It has the best explanations, it's simple yet concise, and it rocketed me in a few days to an ECG star-of-the-class position. Everybody was amazed to see this, including myself! Today I'm a doctor, and I feel that I have a firm knowledge in ECG, and I owe it COMPLETELY to this book... I wonder why it's not recognized ?? I reccomend it so much!

It offers color photos of common skin diseases in both the dog and cat, offering insights on testing, treatment options, and life cycles of diseases. A Helpful way to Save Money and be Creative....

I'm actually interested in this book for my mom. I'd like it for a Christmas gift to her. My mom read this book years ago and shared enthusiastically the ideas for making her own skin care products as explained in the book. I remember going with her to the health food stores and purchasing a conglamoration of items ranging from lavendar oil to dry oats and Rosemary tea to create eye creams, face creams, etc. She still prefers to make her own creams. The pages she copied back then are now old and blurred and difficult to read. She can loan the book out from the library, but unfortunately she cannot find it for sale anywhere (it's out of print). I would really like to get one, new or used, no matter if the cover is damaged (but no pages missing, please). I know it would make her Christmas special. Thanks.

Pediatric dermatology

This heavy textbook in pediatric dermatology is edited by professors Lawrence A Schachner from University of Maimi School of Medicine and Ronald C Hansen from the University of Arizona School of Medicine with five associate editors and 85 international contributors.
It is a beautiful textbook divided into eight parts: Basic science, neonatal and inherited disorders, diseases of mucous membranes, reaction patterns, neoplasms and systemic diseases, infections and infestations, injuries, and drug eruptions with a total of 30 chapters.
Every chapter and entry has a logical and extensive explanation with wonderful layout and color illustrations in a very instructive way, so that I can only without any reservation recommend this text as a resourcebook for every practising pediatrician. I would also suggest that every pediatric department should have this book in its library. A CD-ROM presents the more than 1,200 color pictures for slide presentations.
