This is a must have for any home daycare facility. After running daycare from my home for five years, I still found the information
contained in this book to be a great asset. It truly tells you what deductions you can take and how to figure them out.
How to establish and maintain a record keeping system. How to claim ALL the hours you work (not just the hours with daycare
children, but how to claim the off hours work, too). How to track and record food expenses as well. And if you still have
questions, just send an email to Tom Copeland, he answered my questions, I know he will yours.

My 2 year old son loves this book! I kiss him and hug him as I read it according to the story. I misplaced the original book,
but am ordering another here on Amazon.
Young children will enjoy it, as it is not too long or too short and has nice, bright illustrations. I don't even mind reading it a "gazillion" times, as you have to have to do with little ones.

If your child has a difficult time separating from you, then this is the book for you! The Goodbye Game helps children say
Goodbye in a positive way. The repetition of playing the goodbye game not only a useful tool to combat separation anxiety
but also a math activity. My children have used the goodbye game at day care, pre-school, with babysitters and at bedtime.
Fortunately, they don't "need' to play the game anymore, but they still enjoy the story.

A Parent's Life Changes in an Instant

Something happens to a parent when their child gets sick. Normal life vanishes and Mom or Dad have only one goal - restoring
their child to health. When the illness drags on, or medical personnel can't make a diagnosis, normal life becomes a distant
memory.
Kay Day faced this situation, to a much greater degree than many parents, but with a happier ending than some families get. She shares her story, with detail, humor, and the background of not only her own family history, but also the familiar hassles and concerns of a family move. I identified with the Day family's experiences and learned from the medical research the author did.
My favorite part of the book is the contribution of the patient's older sister, describing the impact of her sister's illness on her life and the conflicting emotions she experienced during that time. It was a forthright revelation that reminded me strongly of my feelings towards my younger siblings, a long time ago.
This is a great read, for young people and their loving parents.

Rebeccasreads highly recommends KILLING EARL as an interesting & sometimes humorous memoir of a terrible time in a family's
life when their 12-year-old daughter suffers severe abdominal pain. It gives practical advice about navigating today's medical
establishment, as well as useful Internet links & tips for patient advocates.
The courage of both mother & daughter, who refused to give in to defeat, is the backbone of the book. It should bring encouragement to everyone who suffers from "undiagnosable" pain. Rebecca's "mystery illness" affects over 86,000 American children every year. Up to date information about treatment for such cases is given. If it saves even one child from enduring the year of horror & agony that Rebecca & her family lived through, KILLING EARL was well worth writing.

I have read the original edition of this book many times. It contains short histories of pivotal events in Chinese history
to illustrate particular doctrines of Chinese political or military philosophy, such as warring on those states nearby but
allying with states far away.
Not having seen this edition I do not know if it contains the original Wade-Giles transliterations of Chinese words and names or has been converted to the God-awful "pinyin" system in which letters are pronounced without any consideration of how they are spoken in any Western language. If this edition has pinyin, my advice is to to skip it and buy an old copy with Wade-Giles trabnsliteration, which is *intended* for English-speakers and in which most non-Communist histories of China have been published.
Chinese history can be very hard for the non-specialist to follow because of the unfamiliar words and names and the frequent re-use of a name throughout its five millennia of history. "The Chinese Machiavelli" contains all that the average reader needs to know to understand whatever Chinese theory the authors are trying to illustrate. The Chinese theory is explained clearly and it is illustrated by historical vignettes written in easy-to-understand English with relatively little use of unnecessary Chinese terms. The latter point is particularly helpful since Chinese words often have several meanings depending on their context. The Bloodworths are careful to explain all of the nuances of the words relevant to the concept which they are describing, and mercifully forego unnecessary jargon.
"The Chinese Machiavelli" is an outstanding entry-level introduction to Chinese history and politics and is very helpful to those trying to understand seemingly illogical decisions made by Chinese bureaucrats and politicians, both now and in the past.

Stay-at-home mother Wallis A. Simpson presents My Andrew: Day-to-Day Living with a Child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder,
her day-by-day journal of raising two sons, Andrew and Jesse. Jesse is an ordinary child, but Andrew is a child with Autism
Spectrum Disorder (specifically, a high-functioning form of the disorder known as Asperger Syndrome). The entries span from
Andrew's infancy to his entrance in the second grade (and Jesse's entrance in fifth grade). Simpson occasionally provides
her hindsight comments in brackets to add perspective to the verbatim original journal entries. My Andrew evolves as a heartfelt
portrayal of learning to adjust to raising an ASD child, and sharing one's hard-earned wisdom with the child's teachers or
other caretakers. An up-close and personal viewpoint, especially recommended as a supplementary resource for anyone responsible
for or working with a child with ASD or Asperger Syndrome.

Although I really enjoyed Annette Smith's first novel in the Ruby Prairie series (A Town Called Ruby Prairie) I must admit
that I loved this second book even more. Maybe that's because some romance started brewing (and no, I won't tell you between
who :) but also because of some heart-wrenching moments that made even grown men cry. Better keep a box of tissue handy. I
can't wait to read the final book to find out what happens next with Pastor Jock, Charlotte, the delightful Treasure--who
is a treasure--and the girls at Tanglewood along with the rest of the denizens of Ruby Prairie!

I, too, loved Annette's first novel in the Ruby Prairie series. But the second one, A New Day at Tanglewood, is even better:
more action, plot, suspense, more character development, more romance--yet still more of the same likeable characters in this
small town setting. Annette has a way of drawing the reader into the simple Mayberry-like lifestyle, and making you wish you
could go there and visit--if just for a day. You'll love the characters, the story, and the setting. I enjoyed this second
novel, and look forward to the next one in the series! Rebecca Barlow Jordan, author of 40 Days in God's Presence

This was a great book and I notice on today's grocery shelves that finally many manufacturers are following Dr. Cali's simple
recomendations from more than 14 years ago. Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide diluted by half as a mouth wash, tooth brushes
and brushing, it's amazing how much you never knew before and no one bothered to tell you. Everyone knows how to brush their
teeth. Right? Wrong!(I'm a prime example of more than 40 years ignorance on the subject) and Dr. Cali's book gives you the
simple tips to effectively brush your teeth--and gums. Since that's what we're talking about here, the gum disease that's the
most common cause of tooth loss after the age of 40. Expensive and timely stuff crowns, bridges, implants, dentures-- and
often not necessary if you follow Dr. Cali's simple advice early enough. I hope it can be updated for the end of this millenium
and re-published.

This is an extremely well-written book. As a parent of a child with low-functioning autism myself, I have read many books.
However, this one really stands out for me. It is written by a parent who has dealt with low-functioning autism in her life.
It is written from the heart by a parent to parents. This book gives us the information that we need, fact based and simple
to read. It is well researched, written with a sense of humor which is much needed some days. Excellent book for parents
wondering ok.. I have the diagnosis where do I go from here, how do I help, how do I reach my child. I give it 5 stars!!

In this unique book, Dara Lane explains in readable detail and a genuine voice the techniques that have allowed her to teach
her son, who has severe autism, to master tasks of daily living. She offers encouragement, caution, and practical tips that
work to teach skills in dressing, toileting, basic communication, and other essentials. Ms. Lane shows love for her son and
caring for everyone who's attempting this enormous challenge. Her book is a valuable work that I wish I'd had while raising
my daughter, who has a similar disability, through her toddler years and childhood.
