The authors covered all aspects of startup from location and economics in your area to business plan examples. Showed implementation
of their "flex-time" programming which is wonderful. I checked this book out of the library and two days later (after I finished
it) I went out and bought it. It will be used over and over I am sure.

There are very, very few books on starting and operating a for-profit child care business (believe me, I have looked!). This
one is a gem; very well written by a person who has been there. Her flexible time system is right-on, although I'm not sure
I'd have the guts to implement it. Margins are thin in this business; this book should help you get all you can out of it.

logically organised. The author covers every area of developing a center, from organisation of the space to conflict resolution
to highlighting the ten most common mistakes in running a center. I would thoroughly recommend this book for anyone considering
starting a business in child care.

I received this as a gift for my birthday and the title is a bit of a misnomer as I think it is more a beautiful little book
of quotes on living and experience and the love of life. This compliation lead me to Ms. Crowe's other complilations all of
which are great gifts and nice to have around for a new viewpoint from time to time.

Age can do a lot of things to people - including making them very grumpy. "Senior Days: Insightful Tales and No-Nonsense Help
from the Frontlines of Eldercare" is a collection of anecdotes from the author about her days serving as a senior care expert
- and the insanity and sadness that serves as an occupational hazard. With stories of over ninety year old sex machines, miracles
of sight, and other tales, "Senior Days" rarely has a dull moment. A top pick for community library memoir collections.

Choosing Quality Child Care, from the American Red Cross, is packed with useful information and lots of worksheets to help
parents navigate this most important of searches. The 161-page soft-covered book includes many definitions, and even has
a section to help parents define their child care preferences. Once this important step is accomplished, parents can set their
sights on finding the type of child care that best meets the needs of the family. Because it's difficult for any one parent
to remember all the details about what to look for when visiting with potential child care providers or centers, Choosing
Quality Child Care includes everything from telephone questions, to what to watch for during an on-site visit. Of special
help throughout the book are "Smart Tips for Parents." These notes, in the margins throughout the text, include many helpful
hints and other insights to help parents in their search. There are few searches as significant as this. Choosing Quality
Child Care goes a long way in helping new parents sift through lots of information and lots of choices. It is a book that
has value to new parents in communities throughout the United States.

child care options are available and how to pick the best one for my needs. I learned good questions to ask providers and
what to look for when I visit a site. I also learned how to find out about the local licensing procedures in my area. This
is a must for a first time parent. (A great shower gift too!) Even experienced parents will find this a great resource!!

what the people were feeling at the time and you can really see how this is portrayed.

I got this book for a friend who was grieving for her lover, who had died suddenly. I hesitated to give it to her because
it has some powerfully disturbing images in it which, if taken out of context, I felt might magnify her grief. In the meantime
my mother borrowed it and felt the impact of the images and feelings in this book- she said they helped her to remember. She
then gave the book to her neighbor, whose son had just died in a car accident. The neighbor decided to explore art therapy
as a result. This is a beautiful, powerful book, transformative for readers who might be grieving. I did eventually get a
copy to my friend and she called that same day to tell me how much it meant to her. I haven't, thankfully, experienced the
kind of grief these people have, but their stories and their art resonate even for me. The hole in me since the day you died
is a book that changes lives.

Marvin Gersh was my son's pediatrician 30+ years ago. His down-to-earth caring approach to child care is well reflected in
this book. Helpful hints as well as practical solutions to every-day problems. He even has a chapter on toxic plants. A
must have for all new parents. Easy to read, funny and extremely informative. I have given this book as a gift at many baby

This book is indispensable for any parent. Informal and down-to-earth, it gives you all the information you need (and some
you didn't know you needed) in terms funny enough to make you want to read it just for the good lines. I have Spock, but I
don't use him half as much as Gersh. I got this book when it came out in paperback about thirty years ago and I've relied
on it ever since. It told me more than my mother did and kept me from driving my pediatrician nuts. I think it's great and
I ought to know -- I've raised nine children on Gersh and all the married ones call me to ask what Gersh says about their
kids' ailments. If I could afford it I'd give a copy to each of my kids as a first-baby gift.
