This book takes the steps and principles and promises already familiar to those in a 12 step environment and with real life applications show how to use that knowledge in child rearing. Breaks it down into simple and easy to use ideas.

This book was a gift to me from my mom and I loved it. It gave me ideas for many activities to do while sick. The reciepes are tasty. I became an aupair and this book was a neccesity. Even if the kids were not sick, we were able to to some nice calm fun indoors on not so nice days outside. (like clay making and shadow puppet shows) Now, I am useing this book for my child and husband. No matter how old you are you can use this book to make anyones day a little brighter.

I thank God so much that I obtained an original near-mint copy of this rare book. Most major university libraries should offer it. Early Childhood Educators, please read this essential book if you can because it only covers about 80-100 pages.

Rosa, the high spirited little English bull terrier with the anvil shaped head attends a doggy day care in her neighborhood. She makes friends with other dogs; coughs along with them when there is a cough in the air; digs holes outside and shares and takes turns with her doggy pals.

A nice story that very young children can relate to about day care. The use of the delightful anvil headed dog is a cute distancing approach.

I really found this book useful as it addresses everyday topics that a director of an early childhood setting would face everyday. It is extremely interesting for a novice director who yet has a lot to learn... it highlights issues and how to deal with them in a positive and practical manner. For experienced directors it is an asset as well. At times even the things that one knows can become rusty and crowded in ones mind due to daily issues and dilemas. This book works as a refresher course and source of vision for those hard to handle situations. Thanks Ms. Lee for writing a superb book!

The two-page Don'ts and Dos for each age-group were a god-send! I reviewed these quick, easy-to-read reference guides frequently, especially on rotten, no-good, frustrating days.

A simple but comprehensive presentation of the creative learning process with emphasis on it's implementation using concrete examples from the author's experience as a teacher. This book came in excellent condition. It shipped really fast from the seller. The price was very good, and the shipping wasn't bad either. Used the book for a early childhood education class, and it was a good resource.

Tender Care and Early Learning reinforces what we know is right and good for infants and toddlers in group care settings. It explains the High Scope Approach in an infant and toddler setting with its focus on Active Learning, Supportive Adult-Child Relationships and Arranging and Organizing the Environment. It would be a wonderful source for those interested in starting/setting up an infant or toddler classroom. It describes in detail what to include for the physical setting with checklists at the end of each chapter. Anecdotes throughout help the reader to understand how infants and toddlers respond to the environment and caregivers. Its easy - to - read format makes for an enjoyable reading experience.

Bought the paperback in 1984 and just reread it. A very good book, just too short. Sorry to see it's out of print.
