Great addition to Nim Adventure!Review Date: 2008-08-13
Nim at Sea just as good as Nim's IslandReview Date: 2008-06-06
I am a BIG fan of Wendy Orr and just loved the first book, Nim's Island. My daughter and I read it LONG before it was made into a movie. The second book, Nim at Sea, is just as good. It is funny and creative.
I don't want to give away the story for anyone who wants to read the book (and you should). The first chapter starts off with Alex and Nim being seperated which is why Nim is at "sea."
I, my daughter and my mother all enjoyed Nim at Sea and thought it a great sequel.

Great book for computer obsessives ...Review Date: 1998-11-15
But, Sanjeev needs the Cyber Kdz who are located around the world to give him a hand in pinpointing the smugglers and ... (well, you'll have to read the story.)
The neat parts are a) Sanjeev's crashing the ship's network and getting Sarita and himself booked into a first-class cabin and b) Deeder's crashing the ship's maitainance and safety servers to cause all sorts of funny confusion.
Good book

Small ships that go to off-the-beaten path placesReview Date: 1999-05-26
REVIEW FROM TRAVELWRITER MARKETLETTERReview Date: 1999-06-17
"The Table of Contents for this book is very reader-friendly. Under each chapter heading are all of the chapter's subheads, with page numbers, so if you want to reread the paragraph on seasickness, for example, you find it under Chapter 2, page 35, and find it quickly. The first several chapters tell the many differences between sailing on a small ship and a large one, discuss costs, things to do, places small ships can go, and the many questions the reader might have about small ships. There's a chapter on life aboard a small ship, with detailed descriptions, then one on saving money on cruises with various ploys, and a chapter on ship profiles which takes up more than half the book describing more than 200 ships. The final two chapters are about barge cruising on canals, and sailing in small romantic schooners. It's all good, juicy writing, even if your cruise is not imminent. But if you are about to take a cruise, it will save you money, prepare you, and insure that you have fun."

The one book that propective cruise employees must haveReview Date: 2002-09-11
The book isn't perfect. It could have used another round of editing for missing information (almost none), duplicate fields (a few), and some typos that were visible to someone not trying to use the information. I'd bet that there are a few bad phone numbers and street addresses as well (although I didn't actually find any). But these are real nits--overall the manual is well formatted, readable, easy to use, and apparently overwhelmingly complete.
Other books might give you the flavor of working on a cruise ship, or try to seduce you with tempting descriptions of cruise jobs. This manual appears dedicated to getting the reader first and foremost the facts and the data--the stuff needed to get a foot in the door of the cruise business.

Y Chromosome Fun Adventure With Message AttachedReview Date: 2008-08-18
Endeavoring to seek his fortune with little more than a sketchy clue, skimpy budget, and big ideas he heads across the continent to a rugged Paradise in the process of being lost.
Blessed with an excess of beginner's luck, the kindness of singular strangers, and sheer pig-headedness, he survives darn fool adventures in the face of big weather & commercial greed with his sense of humor intact. He even matures and makes good.
If you like honesty, ideals, and individuality, if you value the epic struggle to teach the selfish why it's not smart to trash our very nice planet, if you like to have fun when you read... who could ask for more?

A marvellous wordless book, packed full of action and drama to entice and concentrate the most distracted and distractable minds. Gloriously produced, beautifully illustrated and full of possibility. An ingenious devise and every bit as special as it's forerunner. A must have.
