I have been out of the field for a few years and this book is great to kinda tweak your mind and refresh your skills. Highly recommend this book answers all of those common sense questions we take for granted in the field and are likely to forget if not always on our minds

Excellent, easy to read. Relevant to my clinical practise. Made me think more about what I do and why I do it. Good to find so much relevant information in one book.

It is an excellent book for those, who want to be up-to-date in his work as anesthetist for outpatient and dentist clinics. The problem list of the book is short, but complete and concrete. Nothing to add. Very useful book in everyday practice.

This is possibly the single most all embracing and informative book on english art song and the major players in the vocal music of the English Musical Renaissance. The style is lucid and practical, and the bibliography, catalogue, and index are superb research tools. An unqualified recommendation.

This volume is the latest in a series devoted to the strategies required by intensive care specialists to combat the evolving challenge of microbial infections. The Editors' objectives are to provide an update of therapeutic implications and discussion of controversial topics in specific infections involving critically ill patients. Two authors representing management perspectives in Europe and North America discuss each topic. This volume focuses on life-threatening infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, arguably one of the most adaptable opportunistic pathogens. Twenty-five expert contributors discuss a spectrum of serious P. aeruginosa infections in intensive care units and chronic infections in individuals with cystic fibrosis. The focused nature of the topic might limit the volume's appeal to a wide readership. There is no doubt, however, that the 13 well written contributions reflect the importance and evolving challenge of P. aeruginosa infections, and provide clinicians, scientists - and inquisitive, young microbiologists - with a highly informative and state-of-the-art resource. This is by far one of the best ECG interpretation books I've seen. It's format is very well organized and it goes into descriptions of the "how & why" the rhythm appears that way. It even shows a side-by-side comparison of the most commonly mistaken rhythms and highlights the differences and shows how to pick them out.

This is a great reference for paramedics and for health care professionals that do not encounter cardiac interpretations every day.
It's an invaluable resource to keep at hand.

Emergency work is an exciting field for veterinarians. The numerous authors are comprised of a 'who's-who' of the veterinary emergency world. I found this book particularly useful in coverage of common and uncommon scenarios an emergency vet is faced with on a daily basis. Internal medicine topics like acute pancreatitis and acute renal failure are also tackled from a different angle or ICU perspective, compared with 'traditional' internal medicine texts. There is fantastic coverage on respiratory emergencies including ARDS and PTE, cardiovascular disorders, acid-base and electrolyte disturbances, fluid therapy, acute endocrine presentations, in-depth discussion of various intoxicatins seen in emergency practice, neurological disorders (including a chapter on CSF sampling), infectious disorders, haematological disorders, intraabdominal disorders including management of peritonitis and GDV, urogenital disorders and trauma events. Colour plates depicting various emergency procedures such as chest tube placement etc... There are also chapters on hard-to-find topics such as mechanical ventilation, ICU care of post-operative patients, colloid osmotic pressure and osmolality monitoring, blood gas monitoring, intracranial pressure monitoring, capnography, anaesthesia and analgesia of critically ill patients, and an extensive section on drugs commonly used in veterinary emergency and ICU wards. All-in-all, a worthy read and essential text to have on the emergency room shelf. This book has been a long-time coming.

Top book, fantastic content and covers a huge amount of detail in the form of easily readable questions and answers. So easy to digest. Highly recommended and actually essential for MRCS.
