This book is a must have for all of you wonderors who like to explore life as it is in the early life.

This is a conference proceedings book and is very detailed on many aspects of brain hypothermia in the injured brain. It serves the purpose of a reference and research book maintaining an encyclopedic character throughout. It even has new chapters on brain slices, new ICU technologies, aspects of subarachnoid hemorrhage and hypothermia, etc. It has new indications 2005 for cardiac arrest, ischemic stroke, and the traumatically injured brain. This is the new hot volume on hypothermia, excuse the contradiction in terms.

I got this book for the whole ICU primarily for lab values and explanations for why labs would be elevated or low. It does the job. There have been a few things I coudn't find in there, but it still is a very good book, and it used by everyone, even the docs use it.

This handbook succeeds in adding depth and color to a subject which can sometimes be somewhat dry and technical. It serves as an excellent companion to any major text of critical care. The emphasis seems to be on supplementing conventional thought with the wisdom of the author's experience rather than on summarizing information which can be found elsewhere. Presented in a readable and witty style, it is not only useful to practitioners of critical care medicine, but is also a pleasure to read.

"The ICU Manual" by T.E. Oh is really an outstanding book. It is packed with information which is presented in a practical, easy to read format. As such, not only is it excellent for reading, it is also easy to refer to for direct patient care in the ICU. A must-read for anybody interested in intensive care.

Nowadays It is almost impossible to keep up with all new information in Intensive Medicine. JL Vincent's update book is very useful to help us to deal with all those ultimate issues. Chapters are short enough to make your updating job easy and fast. They are also very well written by the most important authors in the Intensive Medicine field.

for a newly qualified nurse about to take a post in a busy intensive care setting i have found this an essential to buy. i have found this book to contain an essential variety of clinical information tailored specifically toward the nursing profession. this in itself could make this a valuable asset to any book shelf yet somehow i found this text an amazingly informative and comprehensive read after only a short while. only a brief glimpse through this book has confimed my ideas that this is an ideal text.

I would recommend this EKG book for anyone having to do anything with EKG's from someone new to EKG's to someone experienced. This book is a must and answers questions very well with easy understanding.

Irwin and Rippe's Intensive Care Medicine is the best book on this subject. It has all the information needed for physicians who deals with critical patients.
