If you are seriously interested in finding relief for your chronic constipation DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Basically, this is a pamphlet from the late 1800's with the most ridiculous, outdated advice on how to "cure" constipation. I threw this pamphlet away by the end of day two. Why I kept it that long I don't know.

Totally useless book.

This book does not have any important information and it constantly prompts you to his other one, the Mucusless Healing Diet (which is interesting but somewhat outdated for 21st century standards). Total waste of time and money. His cure of constipation is included in the above mentioned book. I follow a vegan diet and bought it out of curiosity, so I have to say if you are eating like an average American, it is a very radical change. Do not bother.

Although knew much of this, I came up with new ideas that reinforced my knowledge in overcoming constipation. I strongly believe that constipation is one of the major factos of many chronic diseases. So, read this book.

This book is okay, but seems like mostly common sense type stuff. Our daughter had a UTI about six months into potty training and our Ped jumped the gun a bit and sent us to a Ped Urologist. The Urology Nurse Practitioner informed us that this is quite common and to read this book, put a stool under her feet when she's going and use a potty ring. The stool and potty ring were the only things I learned while reading the book!

An OK book

This is more like a booklet. Covers the common basics you can get from your pediatrician.

There is nothing in this book you can't learn by doing a little research on the web. If your child is having a "pooping problem" I recommend trying "It Hurts When I Poop, a Story for Children Who Are Scared to Use the Potty". I bought this for my daughter and it worked like magic!

I bought this book and was very disappointed. I have a 6 year old who has been dealing with encopresis for 2 years. This book did not nothing but give a 2 page brief description (and not even a very good one) of the condition. They are taking advantage of parents who are dealing with a difficult problem by including the word "encopresis" to hook us into spending money on their book, without actually providing any real insights or guidance. It's really all about selling their gimicky products related to toilet training. There is nothing in this book that can't be found in a more comprehensive way with a web search. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Although the explanation of encopresis was adequate, and the overall treatment gudelines were consistent with today's literature, all of the research and case studies presented were from the 1970's, with information that is significantly outdated. I think there would be a lot of controversy if these cases were presented to the medical community today. The case studies were actually a little disturbing.

Buy another book

After looking through various books on gastrointestinal health and constipation, I chose to buy this particular book because it seemed concise and to the point. I wish I had bought another book.
The author continually makes basic spelling and grammatical mistakes throughout the book, sometimes making it hard to understand what he is saying. This also cuts into the credibility of the content; if he's careless enough to make such basic errors, he's probably careless about the content as well.
The book does not offer anything special that can't be found in other books. So, my advice is: buy another book.

I'll never eat Kellogg's Cornflakes again!

It may be of interest to some, however, that Kellogg's protege, William S. Sadler, founded one of America's more successful UFO cults. Look up The Urantia Book here on Amazon, or google for the full text online (this is not an endorsement, btw).
