Best Body CT Book to own
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-03-23
I have bought multiple copies of this book, for the four hospitals that my group covers. This book is well organized and beautifully illustrated. The tables of differentials are very helpful. This book is more comprehensive than theFundamentals of Body Ct (3rd Edition), although both are commendable.
The other books are more costly and encyclopedic.

Introduced to this book at National Naval Medical Center, although not the text we use at MUSC, I'm glad I found it, great buy for the cost.

Best Radiology Text Ever
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2007-04-21
I have read all of the classic radiology textbooks ever written. This is the best, most concise textbook covering chest, abdomen, and pelvis CT that you will read. I take it with me wherever I go. Absolutely indispensable. I would pay $2,000 for this book, which proves why it is no longer available. The book manufacturers, who certainly are not practicing radiologists, make decisions about books for the rest of us.

This book is WONDERFUL! It touches on everything you need to know about PET in a very clear and concise manner. I used it for studing for my PET Certification and it was by far the most helpful book. The questions at the end of each chapter were also very helpful. I have recommended this book to every PET and nuclear medicine tech I meet.

This book is a "must have" for every radiology resident and after residency. I have been a thoracic radiologist for some time and I always tell my residents to read it from cover to cover. It is clear and concise and has the information you need to make the diagnosis in most cases. Besides that, the authors have an extensive contribution to medical literature that gives them experience to highlight the most relevant data about each disease entity, making the reading easy and informative.
Great buy!

Greatest differential diagnosis book for the whole body
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2007-08-25
This is the best in the differential diagnosis genre. It assesses the whole body, making CNS and Head and Neck comprising almost half of the book. Organ systems are evaluated, with lesions classified by location, configuration, density, calcification and enhancement pattern among others. The format does follow the classic tome written by Dr. Eisenberg.
The ultrasound differential diagnosis textbook in this series is also highly recommended. The MRI differential book is not up to par of its brethen, however.
This book should be available near all CT reading monitor.

Best Book for SPECT / PET Design
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2005-01-12
This book is by far the best book for understanding the details of SPECT / PET design. It comprehensively covers every aspect of the design of these machines. I am currently designing a SPECT machine for a medical instrumentation company and this book has been an invaluable guide. My co-workers borrow this book so often that I have ordered a second copy. If you are serious about understanding SPECT / PET then this is the book for you.

Worth the c-note
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2003-09-20
The illustrations alone make this a worthwhile buy, whether you're a gastroenterologist or just extremely interested in colonoscopies. Ever since Katie Couric's live colonoscopy on TODAY, I've been intrigued by the procedure, considering it something of an art form as well as an intrusive medical procedure. But Abraham Dachman and his team of writers make a compelling argument for the use of Virtual Colonoscopy in lieu of long tubes, nano-cameras, and liquid barium. It's a brave new world.
