Complementary-Therapy Books

A fascinating summary of Alternative Healing Therapies which serves to challenge our thinking and perceptions regarding our blind acceptance of orthodox medicine. The book is inspiring as it highlights the dedication and innovative thinking of many pioneers of unorthodox healing therapies. This book inspired me to search for more information on some of the therapies. However, it seems there is very little information readily available on the more fascinating and lesser known therapies covered in this book. It would have been helpful if Dr. Stanway had given information on sourcing some of the products mentioned as well as other sources of reference for further study.

This book is an excellent example of homeopathy's underpinning vitalism / animatism / animism / dualism 'purposeful life spirit' figmentation {like naturopathy, which educationally per AANMC schools and licensure-wise per NPLEX examination, requires 'such' full-blown classical Hahnemannian homeopathy woo [labeled as clinical science!!!]}.

"Hahnemann [...] believed that disease sprang not from a simple breakdown in the bodily mechanism [p.089...but from] the body's ethereal vital force [...therefore,] treatments needed to act on the metaphysical, rather than the corporeal, level [...] he argued that within all living bodies resided an innate healing power [...] 'the spirit-like vital force (dynamis) animating the material human organization' [...aka] vis medicatrix naturae - the healing power of nature [p.090...] 'dynamis' or vital force [...his] medicines more powerfully engaged the patient's vital force [...] 'by giving a remedy which resembles the disease the instinctive vital force is compelled to increase its vital energy' [etc. p.091]."

Every time I read this book something new comes across. I can pick it up and read from any point and come away feeling inspired or soothed. The stories told by "Sam Woods" give you a new way to look at life, I highly reccomend this book.

If you are so smart then define Science. If you can't, and you want to know what it is then read this book. Think you're a healer? Then define healing. If you're stumped again then read this book. I have never read a book (and I've read most of 'em) that explains Quantum Mechanics in such plain and easily assimilated language. Then as a bonus Doc Hamm will explain to you in simple logic how healing works. If you got a big ego and you like things to be complicated and full of curlicues and flowery language you won't like it. If you like to take complicated concepts and make them simple this book is for you. Quantum Healing, so simple even a mule-skinner can do it!

as a hypnotherapist of over 17 years i reccomend this volume to every practicing hypnotherapist especially the NGH. Everything is explained, tracked, & developed unlike most hypnosis texts. i have read & own hundreds of texts. This is outstanding, a must have!

I first utilized this book back as an undergraduate student in 1961. It was great then and it is just as good now. Better, actually because the spiral binding makes it easier to use, xerox from, etc. The drawings are clear and the coverage excellent.

Anatomy And Physiology For Holistic Therapists is a welcome and highly recommended addition to the growing library of personal and professional New Age medicine reference collections.

This is a thorough investigation of the origins of healing amongst peoples and cultures from around the world. The author discusses how people have dealt with illness down the ages, by developing treatments offered by their environment. This includes the use of nutritional remedies, herbs and other modalities like acupressure and acupuncture.

One characteristic of these healing techniques is their holistic approach, where the whole person is treated in order to address the patterns that manifest in a particular disease state. This excellent book bridges the gap between ancient wisdom and modern medicine, rescuing time-tested treatments from obscurity and applying them to our times.

These ancient techniques are mostly based on the principle of vibrational medicine, just like homeopathy and Dr. Bach's flower remedies. I therefore also recommend Gerber's excellent book Vibrational Medicine for a more thorough scientific analysis of how and why this system works. Ancient Roots, Many Branches is a valuable book for those who wish to take responsibility for their own health.

This one is a keeper! It provides clear, practical, technoques for the safe and effective use of crystals for healing or for wearing. I would recommend this book to sellers of crystals, healers who wish to use crystals in their work, and to anyone who wears crystals in any form.

Glenn writes of a life "his" that caresses the soul of forgivenss and lets the reader know that everything will be O.K.
