A time to travel.....

This is one of the most comprehensive and delightful books on time travel I have read. The clear step by step processes Shelley lays out are easy to use. Using one of her techniques, I found myself in a past life in 12th century Europe. The experience was vivid in detail and the journey was a delight.
I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to explore their past.

During a period of deep grief I found myself consoled, then motivated, and even inspired by Shelley Lessin Stockwell's easy-to-read book, TIME TRAVEL. Turn the page and you will be delighted to discover not just a thorough and comprehensive book, but an embodiment of the passion, poetry, prose and paintings of this gifted artist, as she delivers a work that joyously journeys down all avenues of the subject matter. As an added bonus, Stockwell's writing is riddled with humor, and her joie de vivre lights up every page.

Following Stockwell's clear instruction and suggestions, I, a novice, soon found myself channeling my loved one through automatic writing with ease, feeling confident because the results in my case were in rhyme, never my style or capability, but true to my loved one's poetic prowess.

With this kind of success, along with the sheer enjoyment and fascination I had reading the book, I highly recommend Stockwell's TIME TRAVEL:Do It Yourself Past Life Journey Handbook, no matter what your level of interest in the subject. I give it five very bright stars, and, quite frankly, look forward to feasting my eyes, and spirit, on another Stockwell book soon.

Whether you've been going to an acupuncturist for years or are just now considering traditional Chinese medicine as a cure for your ills, Heidi Nye's primer is for you. In just a few pages, she discusses all you need to know about the theory and application of this 5,000-year-old system of health and healing. Nye includes sections on how the Five Element Theory can be used to pinpoint personality types and how ancient Chinese sexual practices can increase pleasure and longevity.

It's about time somebody wrote a book about traditional Chinese medicine that is well-formated and easy-to-follow! With our growing displeasure of chemical treatments that appear to often be worse than the disease itself, the time has come for this fresh and informational book. Nye's book not only challenges our beliefs about healing and prevention of disease, but offers a cornucopia of ways to clarify our beliefs through the wisdom of our ancestors. Having recently lost my 50-year-old husband to cancer, I can attest to the vain and misguided attempts by the medical profession to treat him. Their "treatments" made his last few months a nightmare, not only for him but for all who loved him. Unsuccessful and dangerous in their treatments, yet they lead more lambs to slaughter daily with their ignorance of natural health and preventive care. If I were diagnosed with a serious illness today, I would first turn to Nye's book before I considered any other alternatives. Kudos to a fine book and a fine writer! The book is a MUST for any home library!

I refer to this book often, as I have a great interest in the subject of Traditional Thai Medicine. It is well written and ultimately gives the reader a sense of the true depth of history behind the medicine that preceded Western culture in Thailand. The tradition that shaped medicine in Thailand exists today and this book opens the reader's eyes to its history, culture, and spirituality. That is what makes Thailand and its traditional medicine so unique.

I have a bookshelf full of esoteric books on Thai healing, culture and spirituality. Most of them are written in the language of academia to such an extent as to render fascinating subject matter into brain numbing boredom. Pierce Salguero successfully manges to be an adademic without losing his passion for his subject, and without forgetting that someone might actually want to enjoy reading about it.

Very good study of the social environment and the nature of herb man Tommie Bass. An excellent reference for any herbalist or wildcrafters bookshelf. This is not much of a how-to, more of an overview of the social, geographic, and economic environment that Tommie Bass lived in, and how he made his living.

Although I never had the honor of meeting Tommie Bass, I know him through his students and herbal colleagues. Crellin does a great job of portraying Tommie Bass with his unique personality and take upon life. Bass had an unsurpassed knowledge of the medicinal use of herbs, drawing on the Appalachian, Cherokee, African-American and southern traditions. Crellin lets Bass speak for himself about the herbs he loved, and the newer directions his medicine took before he died.

I can't outdo Peter's review--just want to say that one of my most promising Reiki Classes used her 21-day writing exercise to find very helpful self-knowledge: pick one topic that she suggests, and write on it for 15 minutes a day for 21 days...it's positively AMAZING what you will realize about yourself, your inner drives and how you angle yourself for results; behaviors and deep needs.

The gentle healing touch

The Ultimate Reiki Touch is a moving and inspiring work that explains the essence of Reiki which is the Usui method of natural healing. Reiki is a healing modality in which the healer transfers universal energy to the patient through the laying on of hands on specific chakra points.

Suitable for both the newcomer and the established practitioner, the book is an excellent practical guide that explains the power and application of universal life force energy. It deals with Reiki as a gentle healing art and as a way of life based on love.

The book also provides the healer with multiple ways in which to become more receptive for the compassion and healing force that is the essence of Reiki. The author writes with great insight and skill. Her techniques are easy to understand and apply. The Ultimate Healing Touch is one of the very best works available on this simple but effective healing modality.

Everything I have read written by Tom Harpur has benefitted me in so many ways. His common sense approach, directness, intelligence and fun style of writing inspire me always. Many authors have provided interesting and absorbing reading, but Harpur's books have motivated me to make significant and lasting changes in my life that have made it better.

This book describes various forms of spiritual healing along with specific scientific research verifying their effectiveness. Well researched and documented, it gives substance to an intriguing but often discounted subject. There is hope here for all who suffer and have not found help through traditional means. There is inspiration for all who take a deeper view of life.

I really liked this book for a number of reason. The science supporting the premises is accessible and doesn't overwhelm the reader. The effects of alternative healing techniques are described as natural and explainable phenomena, grounded in real-world physics, and not the result of some kind of "magic". His theory of healing seems intuitive and obvious after it has been laid out; one almosts wonders why it hadn't been thought of before? Now, if only Big Insurance and Big Medical would read his book...

Why can't I heal?

I am astonished by Dr. Forciea's new insight into what makes effective healing. That is, it is not conventional medicine, nor alternative medicine (two ways we have been taught about), but rather, the flow of information and the patient's ability to assimilate it that heals. Using Dr. Forciea's 7 Keys i.e. "Channels", I have been able to expand my belief that I have to choose from one of two sources i.e. an M.D. or chiropractor, for example, but that I can use many healing sources, including my own thoughts, to facilitate optimal health. Finally, Dr. Forciea's book works towards elilminating turf barriers common in the healthcare community by proving that information, not necessarily the technical discipline, is the catalyst behind healing.

This is a refreshing book which brings health choices back to the individual rather than promoting one magic cure for everyone. It has very helpful discussions about the history of medicine and will as well as intriguing insights into the health choices of the famous people described in each chapter. Dr. Reynolds gives many inspiring stories of his patients who made choices for health as well as provides a wealth of information about research on many health problems. The book has a wonderful rhythm, especially when read aloud.

This book has it all - stories and advice, common sense and experiences that hit home in an easy-to-digest yet masterful way. I could relate to many of the stories he tells and was able to actually use the information provided by Dr. Reynolds for my own healing. This book can change your life and the way you look at things. I highly recommend reading it, using it, and sharing it with your family and friends!

I couldn't have put it better than the last reviewer. This is by far, my favorite book that I've read on the subject of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. Kern has an amazing ability to put things into laymans terms, and because of that, this book is an incredible joy to read. Franklyn Sills, while a brilliant mind, doesn't really know how to break it down into terms a common person can understand. Upledger, who is clinically and medically gifted, also tends to overcomplicate the subject of cranialsacral work in his writings. Pick this book up, it's a must as a starting point.

Wisdom in the body. The Craniosacral approach to Essential Health. Michael Kern

I love this book. It is my all time favorite cranial text book. It is a strait forward introduction to Cranio-sacral work. It reads well, the concepts are in a logical way laid out and discussed. Kern is extremely knowledgeable about the subject. He has a unique gift in translating complex subject matters into easily understandable and digestible language. The illustrations are very clear. You get a sense of the scientific benefits of this form of therapy AND the beauty of it. If there ever was a cranial book that you could read beneficially before bed time, this is it. I recommend this book to all professionals who want to know more about this modality. It will help you decide if you want to study cranial work. It will also give you clear guidance to which of your clients would benefit from this form of therapy. Ursula Popp
