Dr. Marcus synthesizes three systems of discipline- energetic, medical and functional in a very coherent manner. It is an extremely difficult task to integrate Western orthopedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, but I believe that Dr. Marcus has done a beautiful Job. This book is the first of his kind and is an important addition to Western literature.

This text is a must for any practioner who wants to learn about musculoskeletal medicine. The text integrates the diagnostic strength of Cyriax'Orthopaedic Medicine, the energy of Chinese Medicine, the ligament diagnostics of Hackett, Ongley and Dorman, Travell's Myofascial Pain, the biochemistry of nutrition, and the spinal diagnostics and philosophy of Osteopathy. This is a massive work that encompasses and coalesces the many and seemingly disparate fields that any sophisticated practitioner needs to know. The information is useful both for understanding multiple approaches, and as "how to" book for performing many of the recommended procedures. It is not a book that will languish shelf but will be well worn by continued use. Bravo and well done!

What an absolutely fabulous book! Very important read for anyone who loves music and healing.

This is not a light read but it is well worth every minute. Wonderful innovative ideas!

Listening to these tapes has opened up a whole world of sounds and of life to me. Kay Gardner also plays the flute to the different frequencies she is explaing to you. A must for anyone interested in a better understanding of how sound effects the universe.

Kay Gardner has created a course that covers many aspects of sound healing in a very cohesive and easily undefstood format. Her personality comes through beautifully in spoken word, singing and her flute playing. She illustrates by example. I cannot recommend this more highly.

Howard has done an excellent job of putting words to the ineffable experience of being a healer. In a world full of suspicion and the history of forced assimilation, Howard has generously shared his experiences of integrating two worlds, brought the best of both together to shed light on the great mysteries of his culture, language, song, and traditions. Howard has taught much by opening his heart and being willing to share from the place of joy and happiness that comes only from within the self.

"God gave you a brain, you figure it out!" This was Bill Eagle Feather's response to many a question.He was the Sundance chief of the Rosebud Sioux. Howard Bad Hand never says it in his book, Native American Healing, but that rough response was always in the back of my mind reading this book. Through his own voice, and the voices of his wise elder relatives like Kills Enemy & Jimmy Dubray, these healers & medicine men imply a world miles away from the materialistic money-grubbing white man's world. It is left to the reader to figure out the truly deep meaning embedded in this beautifully readable book. Near the end of the book, his uncle Jim Dubray takes Bad Hand to the Sacred Tree during a Sundance. The absolute rock-bottom simplicity of Uncle Jim's wisdom, as he passes it on to Bad Hand, brought tears to my eyes. If you want to learn something about the Indian way, and begin to comprehend the chasm between it and the American "way of life", read this book.

Some of the medical info is dated in this book, as it to be expected as it's 5 years old now, but the reference on the Homeopathic Remedies is just fabulous. I bought it for that alone (that is most of the book anyway), i love how she explains which remedy is for what. Just excellent and i bought it on that merit alone. Great reference, worth the $$

This book is concise, well-written and informative. It gives detailed information about various herbs and homeopathic remedies and specifically cites interactions and effects.

The women who wrote the book took great care in not insulting their readers while maintaining a very accesible, easy to read style.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in spiritual healing. It is also full of excellent up-to-date recommendations for all kind of health problems.

This is a treasure book that everyone should have in their house. An excellent encyclopedia of natural medicines that I've used numerous times for different illnesses. Most recently, my child has been diagnosed with severe ear infection and prescribed antibiotics. However, instead of using antibiotics I've tried the black seed powder and olive oil mixture ("under Earache"). Ten days later during check up the doctor said there was no trace of infection anymore in my child's ears. That's just one of many instances that I've found this book extremely helpful.

I have used the remedyies for skin problem and bronchitis form this book. It worked like a charm. I found that it is important to read the very first few pages before applying any remedies from this book. This holy master puts down the very essential conditions for the remedy to be useful. Moreover he has given an extraordinary explanation of the root of all diseases. This helped my family a lot.

Vitalism is a profoundly science-ejected concept, though many CAM or 'natural health' cabals falsely claim that vitalism survives scientific scrutiny.

I quote: "naturopathic medical practice nevertheless is still comprised of distinctive therapies backed by faith in nature [...] detoxification, like all other therapies, is meant to serve the more basic purpose of strengthening the vis medicatrix. Naturopathy still means trusting in nature to cure [...per] 'confidence in the perception of a vital force or life force.' Hence, today's hydrotherapy procedures are justified in terms that Lust, or even Thrall, would commend: hydrotherapy provides 'general stimulation of the vital force' [...] naturopathic medicine thus retains much of the old in its now 'science based natural medicine' [p.291]."

hey guys....i think this is the first time i'm doing an online review....i think this book is amazing!!!!! has a wealth of health information that really makes sense (based on other health books i've ready - this does not contradict) I'd say it's a must have....great book- you will not regret your purchase unless u really dont care about health or diet.

I used to suffer from asthmatic cough for many years from childhood to young adult. I happened to come across this book in a second hand bookstore and ever since then, my health has increased tremendously. All I did was follow one simple advice: take Cider Vinegar...for ticklish cough. I started taking a tablespoon of cider vinegar everynight before I sleep and I have never had asthmatic cough since. What's more whenever I felt I caught some illnes, likely flu, I would only suffer slight symptoms of headache, neckache, a stuffy nose, but no runny nose, fever, or cough. However, it must be taken regularly. It's a preventive measure and not a cure! I have also taken the advice to take honey and molasses too. They are as stated in the book...Wonder Foods! This book is really enlightening in healthcare advice....Read It!...for a lifetime of healthy living.

I am extremely impressed with this book. It is the most usable Herb book I have. It has a way to tell if the Herbs are working on a lot of the Herbs by showing you which blood tests to have tested. It also has a section on diseases so you can find an Herb that will heal that ailment. You can also find a lot of adverse side effects in it that you can't find in other Herb books. And you need that if you are trying to heal someone instead of hurting them.

This book has very good information on interactions with drugs and other herbs. This is a good source in my nursing practice in the instruction of patient medication interactions with any herbal supplements they may be taking.
