This tome is definitely for the in-depth holistic care giver.
Every aspect of care is covered in a complete and organized manner. This includes the very over looked self-care subject.If you are seeking the 'Bible' in holistic work, search no further. I can not imagine another source as complete as this one. A big thumbs up.

I bought this book because I admire the author's wonderful biography of Florence Nightingale. This is an essential reference for all nurses who want to be compassionate and effective care givers and who would like to be conversant with holistic medicine. We have so many patients who ask about that now that we owe it to them to be properly informed.

I came from India to USA to visit my garnd son in Minneapolis.While in Hennepen County libraray I have seen plenty of books and one of these was "HOME REMEDIES" by Michel VanStraten published in 1998. after going through the contents ,to my surprise EUREKA ! I found init ,both conventional and compemantary medicines for common ailments viz Allopathy,Homeopathy,Naturopathy,Herbopathy,Aromopathy,Occpressure,Alexanders Techs,Yoga,and grandmom's home remidie's etc.This gives option to anybody to go in for any type of medicine within his reach as these medicines prevent diseases in the initital stage itself.This is a rare goldbin to the poor and middleclass.Had it contained Magnetic Therpy,CosmicRay therpy,and Deshanes systems and Unanisystem of Medicines it would be more commen and universal. However prevention is better than cure I would like to carry this trusure to India.

This is a very good book; I refer to it very often. Common sense remedies, along with some MD recommendations and cautions.

I have several "home remedy" books, but this is the most clear and concise. It's very easy to use and follow (not a lot of unnecessary technical information), and it covers everything from anal fissures and bad breath to varicose veins and warts. I refer to it almost daily.

As far as I have read so far the book is informative and easy to follow regarding cell salts, how to use, etc.

I liked the book, easy to read and comprehend. Very practical with some proven results. The only question I have is how the authors relate to homeopathy or Cell Salts. Usually these books are written by people who have degrees and practical experience in the subject. In the info about authors there is no mention about either of the above. Both of the authors are writers/ journalist and there is no mention how they came to the information and what credentials/ experience they have to write on the topic of Cell Sats/ Homeopathy and recommend the remedy. But if you take the above for granted the book is very very good and easy to follow.

This book is the best introduction to Homeopathy I've read. I would strongly suggest that beginners start with the book and that long-time students of homeopathy read it to be reminded of the true nature of homeopathic medicine.

Homeopathy, Healing and You is a repeat of the book "Let Like Cure Like". I found this disappointing. I was really looking forward to more information from author Vinton MaCabe. Being the two books are the same, it is excellent reading.

This is change your being, your mind and what you thought was TRUE in the whole world. You will see yourself like you've never seen yourself before and you will be terrified and yet very aware and happy to know what an IDIOT you've been all your life. Listen to Roy on the radio too. He will change your life! This is not a joke!

In the first few pages of the book, Roy Masters shows how virtually every one of us lives our entire life in a hypnotic state. As if this isn't humiliating enough, he then goes on in over a dozen chapters to show exactly how this is so in every major area of our lives - interpersonal relationships, personal habits and addictions, and even in our approaches to religion.

Once you get started reading this book, you'll either declare Roy Masters to be a mad man and throw the book away, or you'll at last see yourself as you truely are, and begin to awaken from a life-long dream.

Is a book, that show us how the organism can react a small stimulations.

This is an excellent book for doctors who practice neural therapy. It has excellent photographs of a real subject with exact position of entrance sites and illustrations to help you locate the right place for anesthetics application. A must for any serious practitioner of neural therapy especially beginners, but also good help for experimented practitioners to review infrequently used sites.

Content and context: Very significant in the understanding and reliably informed from known principles. Why i liked this book: Most educational in the major changes which recognizes the natural healing oils from one part of the world to another; in the interaction between herbal substances to repress or stimuulate within the cells. I found this book to be most up to date in assessing the major role between the oils and modern day medicine in the changes observed in the health care field of today.

The author, Ms Beers, has done remarkable justice to the subject of Jamu in her book. It is very well researched.

The many references she makes in her book transports the reader, especially those who are Westernern educated and who have visited or lived in Indonesia, like me, to the domestic level of how jamu is manufactured both at cottage industry level as well as in large factories and how jamu is packaged, marketed and sold both in its raw domestically dispensed form and in glitzy packaged boxes for export.

Remarkably, she has managed to capture how much traditional jamu is appreciated by millions of Indonesians and foreigners who have benefited from its holistic healing properties.

Jamu is the indigenious health tonic and elixir which is and has been trusted by numerous generations of Indonesians. It is very much a part of the fabric of Indonesian society and counts Kings, royalty, Presidents and the general populace, right down to even humble poor peasants who wish to enhance their health and/or remedy ailments as its regular consumers and believers.

The range of the different types of jamu is so vast. It is not a cure-all but from my days in Indonesia, I believe that jamu has a potion or tonic for almost every ailment and is easily affordable even to poor peasants.

To people who enjoy and appreciate the health benefits of jamu, Ms Beers book paints a lucid landscape of the real world of jamu and the exotic ingredients and spices which are used to make jamu. I read her several references to the larger Jamu manufacturers as being little oil lamps to create greater awareness of and for jamu.

Her book is not sponsored by any of the large jamu concerns. Therefore, I am flummoxed at how or why William Beatty came to the conclusion that her book is something close to a Sales Pitch. I beg to differ. In fact I see Ms Beers book as an attempt to promote the awareness of jamu internationally and, hopefully, it may become another cash export product which may help boost Indonesia's economy while bringing a "new" art of ancient HOLISTIC HEALING to the world.

I would go one step further and hope that her book will be a catalyst to generate greater interest in jamu. I hope that it will lead to collaboration with manufacturers and practioners of Western medicine and other healing practices so that jamu will become scientifically refined, tested and manufactured to meet the highest medical standards of the open minded sophisticated Western world.

Like every new product or cure, jamu has to survive the mandatory sailing in a sea of trepidation and cynicism before earning greater acceptance and following. Ms Beers book is a plus for jamu.

Congratulations! Ms Susan Jane Beers, on a well researched and written piece of "jamu" work. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book; made more enjoyable by my rather basic knowledge of and experience with jamu. I keep it on the bookshelf as a reference.

Susan-Jane Beers through her personal experience provides a wealth of material complete with references and recipes that opens a door to this all-encompassing holistic system.

This is not a novel - yet it drew me into its world and enclosed me in feeling tones of healing, simplicity, and nature.
Ms. Beers has more than done her homework! The act of drawing attention to the preservation of this culture by the author is something to commend. There are side stories with photos of the fascinating small business people dedicated to running their healing business in a traditional way.

Susan-Jane Beers has been a wonderful vehicle to bring Jamu to us - leading us on this journey from the kraton to the current state of affairs with plants becoming endangered. She is applauded to be a credit by not only increasing our interest in this subject but also importantly shedding light on the potential outcome of the endangered plant/eco system issues.
Ms. Beers points out the fact that Indonesian medicinal plants can make a major contribution to world health.

This book is not a quick read. You reach a corner and you stop and can see the people. Massage therapists, healers, herbologists, botanists, beauty experts, spa staff, and travelers will all find this book to be a keeper. I have it on my shelf to use as a manual and reference.

This is the most comprehensive book on holistic healing that I've ever found. If you've ever suffered from rosacea, or any disease where the doctors don't really have answers, I strongly advise checking this book out. Georgie's story is amazing, and there are several exercises, diet changes, lifestyle changes, attitude adjustments, and practical examples laid out for you that, with faith, will provide results.

A very uplifting book--filled with faith, joy and practical advice. Georgie's story is amazing. I really liked the way she explained deep emotional healing and gave concrete things to do on our own journey.
