This is one incredible book. Inlander does the best job I've seen of voicing consumer concern and disgust with the current health care system. His humor is wonderful, but his message is quite serious. This is a book anyone using our health care system should read.

What makes this book amazing is the candor of the author. He holds nothing back when challenging the health care system. He clearly speaks for most consumers who are sick and tired of the greed and secrecy of today's health care system. This is a must read for every medical consumer.

Inlander holds no punches as he speaks for the medical consumer. He challenges everything from managed care to greedy doctors. He does it with style, humor, and understanding. This is a must read for everyone and a definite read if you're a health care provider.Buy this one and you won't be sorry.

The further one delves into "Conquer Crisis With Health Esteem" the harder it is to put down. Judith writes in the first person from her heart and soul. You get the feeling she is speaking directly to you as a friend. With each paragraph, page and chapter you are given the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of your exsistence. To observe where you came from, to see where you are now and what you can do to modify what is yet to come is truely an enlightening experience.

"Conquer Crisis with Health Esteem" is about the truth---how searching for the truth will help increase your self-esteem. Facing your worst enemy, is another way of putting it. In 1985, author Judith Parker Harris did just that in order to get well from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Not accepting this fate and after months of hopeless searching for a cure within the traditional medical system, Judith turned inwards. She sought deep into her soul where haunting memories stepped forward demanding her immediate attention. Slowly Judith became an expert in healing herself. It took five years. This workbook combines the soul with the physical. It lists the many questions Judith had to face in order to get well as well as some of her encouragingly brave and open answers. "Conquer Crisis with Health Esteem" is for anyone who wishes to master any crisis.

A REVIEW

of

Conquer Crisis with Health Esteem

by Judith Parker Harris

I wanted to write a review of this book for all of those healthy readers who might not consider it to be of value to them. I was one of those people. I am rarely ill, consider myself a pretty well adjusted person, have friends, a career, and deal with all of lifes little surprises fairly well. Also I have rarely been interested in or read what I considered a self-help book. And then I turned 49. All of a sudden I wasn¹t dealing with anything very well. And I was going through a complete reevaluation of my entire life....and coming up short. It was a very uncomfortable year. It left me in something of a crisis.

I picked up Judith Parker Harris¹ book because I have been privileged to work with her for the last few years producing public service announcements. For the first few years of our friendship, I didn¹t know that she had Multiple Sclerosis. And when I found out I was more than impressed by her ability to have cured her symptoms and controlled her disease. I have had friends completely debilitated by this disease and I had never known anyone who had managed to control it before. And when I talked to her about some of the things I was going through, she always had something very insightful to say. So I bought a copy of the book and skimmed it, pretty sure it wouldn¹t be relevant to my situation. I was wrong.

I have now read Judith¹s book cover to cover. I did the exercises. I took a long time to finish the book. And as I did each of the exercises, and read each section, I found a clarity that I hadn¹t expected. More than once I found myself saying: Well this finally makes sense. She gave me the tools I needed to make some changes. And now I find that I¹m going back to reread certain parts of the book sort of as a measurement and check on myself. When I am faced with difficult decisions or situations that leave me feeling powerless I can refer back to this book to regain a sense of control, a feeling of being able to solve my problem in a healthy way.

So, if you¹re looking for some answers, whether to a particular crisis or, as in my case, to several long standing issues you¹ve managed to not deal with and which are holding you back, you might try this book. It¹s one of the most worthwhile uses of time and energy I have encountered in a long time. To quote Heather Locklear and all those LOreal spokeswomen, in the end I did it because I¹m worth it.

This book lists many different ways to use 2nd and 3rd Reiki symbols. She has some things in this book I never would have thought of! A lot of thought went into this book, and I recommend it highly. So highly in fact, I recommend it to my 2nd & 3rd Degree Reiki Students. It also goes info on working with crystals at each degree, and gives info on setting up a Reiki practice, what to teach for each degree, and much more, like how to give yourself a temporary self-attunement. Don't hesistate to buy this book; you won't regret it...

I am usually quite the skeptic when it comes to some of these abstract theories regarding alternative medicine. I am also easily bored if the author puts too much into the "intro" before getting into the "meat" of the subject. In other cases, I find myself overwhelmed if there is not enough of an intro and I am bombarded with exercises and terms for which I have limited familiarity.

This book was written with "me" in mind. I read the first chapter and can't put it down. The author projects an amazing energy into her words and manages to give just the right amount of "coverage" to all of the above. The intro is gripping with personal stories written almost diary-style that literally propel the reader through each chapter, backed up with scientific evidence for skeptics like me and written in a way that makes the reader feel engaged, fully equipped, and capable.

To put it bluntly, buy this book for yourself. Buy it for a friend. Whatever you do though, buy this book. This book will open your senses to a wisdom conventional medicine muffles. I would recommend this book for those whom "conventional medicine" has failed...clearly all of us.

Energy psychology is a fast growing field with amazing potential for helping people heal long standing emotional and even physical problems. This book is a must have resource for all clinicians and students of alternative medicine fields. Eden makes difficult concepts easy to understand, and provides a multitude of diagrams and step by step instructions for self-help use.

I have read and done the processes in this whole series starting with Essential Energy Balancing I. I don't know that I would have if I didn't have such a high regard for Diane's earlier work Essential Reiki, because the contents of this series is pretty far out! Trust it though, and give it an honest, open-minded try and you will be astounded. So much weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and from my heart, I am a new person. These books truly are transformational.

Each time I complete one of her Essential Energy Balancing books, I am able to understand her work more clearly. This is the third in her series. I encourage everyone who wishes to evolve and heal to guide yourself thru all of her Essential Energy books. Tremendous amounts of healing can take place.

Covers many of the ethical issues confronting therapists
Helpful Votes: 16 out of 16 total.
Review Date: 1998-02-07
This is a very useful tool for any therapist, whether a mainstream counselor or doctor, or practitioners of complementary modalities such as massage. It discusses in plain language the ethical dilemmas we are all confronted by in our daily practice. I particularly appreciated the explanation of a client's vulnerability while in an altered state such as hypnosis or the deep relaxation produced by massage. The author also addresses the vulnerability of the therapist when faced with a client's issues that hook into the therapist's issues, creating a very murky situation indeed. The author assists us to provide appropriate loving care to our clients without violating boundaries.

Review Date: 2001-01-13
Too often, ethical questions are considered dreary subjects best left to a committee. This book helps us see ethics as integrally related to how we do our work, and to our own personal growth. It also embraces a wide spectrum of consciousness, in a systematic way. It is particularly remarkable for its emphasis on non-ordinary states of consciousness, and how to handle these intense experiences when they occur in our work with clients (whether deliberately induced or occurring spontaneously). The Ethics of Caring will be especially valuable for trainee caregivers, supervisors, clients looking for the appropriate therapist, and any professionals who finds themselves, as we all do from time to time, out of our depth.

Review Date: 2007-04-09
Ann Gadd has brilliantly explored the body/mind relationship between feet and our innermost selves in this book. The content re-discovers what has been ignored over centuries, yet was known in ancient cultures and by the wise. Gadd's aim is to enable us to become more conscious of ourselves and others, empower ourselves to be responsible for our own healing and release and make changes where appropriate. The first section shows how our feet reflect our souls based on the Finonacci Scale, the seven chakras on the feet, developing a relationship with our feet, and general observations on foot and toe shapes. The second section comprises a comprehensive A-Z of aspects of the feet, including amputated toes, sprains, fungus problems, bunions and much more. Each enrty is meticulously explored. The section on shoes includes insights into why we wear certain types of shoes and the meaning of their colours. Gadd concisely supports her research and findings with interesting case studies. A most enjoyable, informative book for anyone wanting more self-knowledge and personal growth.
