If you're searching for truth and understanding, read this book. As I read it, so many things that I already knew intuitively were confirmed for me. My heart and mind were opened to new and wonderful ideas and possibilities; confusion began to melt away. My faith was renewed and strengthened.

It was the beginning of a wonderful journey that brings peace and joy to my life every day. It's inspirational...life changing.

The insights you gain from this text will inspire you to read other books on the subject, and your intuition will lead you to the right books for you.

"Your Mind Can Heal You" is a rock solid foundation for spiritual growth and understanding. You'll want to give a copy to someone you love; so, I recommend you order two copies, because you'll certainly want to keep your own copy close by and read it over and over again.

BEST BOOK ON HEALING EVER!

Review Date: 2000-07-05
This is a practical introduction to the technique of mental and spiritual treatment. As a healer in training, this is the best book on the subject that I've read. Not only that, it also provides clear answers to a whole lot of questions I've had on a variety of metaphysical questions. For example, it explains in a clear and understandable way the qualities of and relationship between spirit, mind and matter. It furthermore provides welcome insights on universal healing principles and how to build a strong faith. As I was reading it for the first time, I found myself looking at the original publication date (1941) in total disbelief. Way back then, the author knew all the basics of what today is called PNI and NLP and much more besides. This should be on every healer's bookshelf and will be valuable to all searchers after truth and all those who are interested in metaphysics.

This book encompasses everything written by all others - it is truly amazing. Written in 1941 originally, it seems to be what other writers have read and pulled from. It is life-changing. Must be read over and over. Each time a new light emerges and a change is made. Keep it by your bedside.

Of the many hundreds of books I have read, this must be one of my favourites, so much so, that I for the first time decided to write a review. The books explains absolutely clear and meaningful the truth about healing and our true nature. This book is worth every penny, containing the beauty of our true strength without any useless glorification of the authors own personal stories, which is so often seen in modern books of this type. A true and significant classic. .

This Calendar is Great...
The Witches Spells are at times, hilarious.
I'd heard most of them, as a child growing up in New Orleans, La.
A lot of the Spells, have probably been passed down to the reader as an 'old wives' tale'.
I read my daily Spell over Coffee, and always get a smile to take with me to my Workday.

The 2002 Herbal Almanac is probably a must for any witch who grows an herbal garden. I received a copy of this book last year, and found myself referencing it many times, as I worked on my garden this year. While it has been an experimental year for me, this book does contain many solid articles. This year's book features articles from Elizabeth Barrette, Eileen Holland, Sara Greer and many others. The topics covered range from composting to herbal honeys and honey candied herbs (a sweet treat article), herbal care for expecting moms and kids and handling business stress with flower essences. There are many other good articles in here, too numerous to mention, as well as moon charts, eclectic herb plants and seed sources, zone charts, even potpourri recipes. A good source of information and ideas, and a great gift for that herbalist at Yule.

Review Date: 2001-11-17
I love this calendar. It takes up very little room on your desk and although it gives you a spell per day, one doesn't have to perform the working as it is given. These workings are light and easily adaptable to whatever you wish to accomplish. Room enough on each page to make a notation, and each page is small enough that you can take the page with you, if needed, to gather materials. Must have for those new to the craft, and for those who have been around for awhile, an excellent way to look at other works for inspiration.

Acupuncture, Meridian Theory and Acupuncture Points
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-12-28
Summary: The meridian theory is an important component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is the study of the physiological function and pathological change on the meridians, and their related zangfu organs. The essential functions of the meridian system are to "transport qi and blood," "to maintain conductivity" and "to resist invasion of exogenous pathogenic factors." The meridian system distributes to all parts of the body. the endless circulation of qi and blood in the meridians is responsible for the maintenance of life and the variety of functions which support it. Over the last two thousand years, the meridian theory has been the guiding principle for the clinical practice in the realms of TCM, particularly in those of acupuncture, massage, and qigong. By combining the meridian theory with the theory of the zangfu organs and the etiology of TCM, one can thoroughly explain both the physiological activities and pathological change which take place in the body. In this manner, a theoretical basis for the principle of treatment in accordance with the differentiation of symptoms and signs was established. Physicians throughout Chinese history have all paid great attention to the study of meridians, which has now become an independent branch of learning in acupuncture and moxibustion

I bought this book as a reference work,at the beginning, but after going through it,I realized that it deserved being read more in detail. I could find a few pages on usually neglected issues, such as the historical meanings of some acupuncture points. I am carrying out a research study on the definitions of the acupuncture points in Ling Shu and Su Wen (in Chinese) and I hardly had ever found anything on this topic in a non-Chinese language book. Only one regret: no full analytical index, alas!

Very Thorough, Practical Guide: How to Choose and Apply the Appropriate Flower Remedies

Review Date: 2007-10-17
Author Gotz Blome, M.D., does not waste space in these nearly 400 pages to convince readers of the usefulness and efficacy of flower essence remedies.

An excellent reference book for those who understand that to help a patient overcome illness, the essential first step to a cure is to stabilize and treat that patient's unique mental, emotional, and psychological states.

This book is divided into three sections.

First Section: each of the 38 single Bach Flower essences is discussed in four to five or more pages. There is a short, general description of the type of patient for whom that flower essence is appropriate: For instance, for AGRIMONY, e.g. "Agrimony...for people who...go out of their way to avoid conflict...try to keep their true feelings hidden from everyone else by maintaining a feigned carefree, happy demeanor." This is followed by a description of the kinds of mental states and behaviors to look for when deciding whether that flower essence applies: e.g., Agrimony "...tendency to repress, glossing over of personal problems, oversensitivity. In daily life, used to treat phoniness, playacting...". Then, there is a lengthy descripton of the causes and symptoms of a flower essence. E.g., "Causes and Symptoms of Agrimony Syndrome". This is followed by another lengthy discussion of the effects of a flower essence. E.g., "The Effects of Agrimony". After that, follows another lengthy discussion of pertinent psychotherapeutic notes. Finally each flower essence chapter ends with a list of "Common Combinations with Other Essences". E.g., Agrimony with Aspen, Agrimony with Beech, with Centaury, etc.

In the book's Introduction, the author states, "Because most illnesses arise from the interplay of various psychic or physical influences and particularities of personality and character, Bach flowers are normally administered by combining several essences."

Second Section of the book (in my paperback copy): 65 pages of brief descriptions for each of the combinations of flower essences. For instance, there are thirteen different combinations for Agrimony: E.g., among these thirteen, one can learn that the combination of Agrimony with Centaury is for patients who exhibit "Pathological good-naturedness", distinguished from the combination of Agrimony with Chestnut Bud which is for patients with "Learning difficulties or immaturity caused by shirking."

The third and last section of the book (137 pages in my paperback copy) sets forth, in alphabetical order, a long repertory of different mental, emotional and psychological states and behavior patterns and actions, "absentmindedness", "indecisiveness", "perfectionism", "stuttering"" etc., and the recommended Bach flower or Bach flower combination remedy.

ADVANCED BACH FLOWER THERAPY is the book I regularly refer to and cross reference with another important reference text, APPLYING HOMEOPATHY & BACH FLOWER THERAPY TO PSYCHOSOMATIC ILLNESS, 2nd ed., by Cornelia Richarson-Boedler.

Highly recommend these two books for your library of flower essence and homeopathy references.

I am not a health practitioner of alternative or allopathic therapies. I try my best to maintain and improve my health by learning what is available to me to achieve good mental, emotional and physical health. I believe that "action follows thought" and that illness results from unhealthy/destructive/negative thoughts and emotions (conscious and subconscious).

You will find the descriptions of each remedy very useful. The remedy combinations listed in this book are very helpful. This book is a MUST!!

An excellent guide to the Bach Flower remedies. Blome gives a comprehensive explanation for all the flower essences. For instance, he describes the characteristics, effects and has psychotherapeutic notes for each essence. He also gives common combinations with other essences. There is a section on physical and emotional ailments and possible flower remedies to assist them.

Dr. Blome has a very good understanding of the Bach flower essences and how to use them. One of the best books on flower remedies. Highly recommended.

First, I think I'll mention Richard Bandler's name so as to give credence to my comments. On second thought, no, I won't either.

Having settled that, I can tell you that Nick really knows how to weave a trance that will keep you spellbound as you begin an inner adventure that will take you places you've never even dreamed of ... and yet ... will bring you safely home again. To your own, true self.

Nick is a master of both indirect and direct hypnotic suggestion, yet even as he gives you direct instructions, you still know ... at the same time ... that the direct suggestions in here are just to set you free.

Free from fear. Free from compulsion. Free from pain.

I've listened to the CD twice so far and I'm here to tell you that after the first listening, only, I discovered I had recovered my old sense of confidence.

And now. Now that I have that sense of confidence instilled deep within me ... never to be wrested away again, I can only wonder what I might decide to do with ... and because of ... it.

If you, like me, don't easily experience deep trance ... I'd suggest you give this CD a listen. It's well worth your time!

Nick Kemp has achieved something quite remarkable with this CD. By mixing skilfully crafted music, and in language that everyone can follow, he carefully guides the listener through many of the concepts of meditation. But more than this the CD gives anyone the chance to experience some of the altered states of consciousness that meditation promises. The music may remind you at times of "Revolver", while the opening tamboura-like drone, and tabla, point to the source, Nada Brahma - Sound Is God. Truth seekers and sceptics alike will find flashes of insight here that might lead to further exploration, which I guess is what Nick Kemp has set out to encourage. Highly recommended.

Ms McElroy's books are ever a delight to read. I spent a lot of time with tissue close at hand during this one. The stories are enlightening and often reminded me of lessons that I had, or perhaps had not, learned from the animals in my own life.
The stories are not always cheerful, but they are thought-provoking if you see animals as more than property. Her story on the spiders in particular has made me take a different look at the creepy-crawly things that live in my house, which I'm sure they appreciate.

Shifting Our Paradigm of Relationships In Nature

Review Date: 2005-01-14
Susan Chernak McElroy's fourth book, All My Relations, is an excellent contribution to deepening our understanding of human relationships with animals. Having read her previous books and attended a few of her presentations, I realize that she may be one of the most original and insightful observers and storytellers of human - animal relationships in a generation. Her stories tell of a powerful and mystical oneness that not only she experiences with animals and other creatures, but of a level of understanding and experience that are available to us all if we are willing to embrace a different way of being with Nature. The exercises she offers at the end of each story are simple yet valuable pathways to reach and experience this deeper level. I highly recommend All My Relations not just to those persons with animals, but to all people, and the sooner in life - the better, such as for school english and literature classes. Perhaps it is not too late for the current generations of adults to be empowered to achieve a paradigm shift in the way we view and behave concerning all of our relations in Nature. Susan Chernak McElroy's book can serve as an instrument for achieving this paradigm shift.

If you're trying to learn about amino acids this book is a good place to start. At just over 100 pages it's a bit short. For instance, the amino acid serine is covered in seven lines. It's also approaching 20 years old. Having said that it still provides a lot of useful info. And combined with "The Amino Revolution" by Robert Erdmann, PH.D., it can give you a pretty good idea of the potential benefits of amino acid supplementation. There's so much more to learn on this topic and I'm still waiting for the definitive amino acid book. Unfortunately, most doctors don't have a clue.

This excellent book is a valuable guide to the therapeutic use of amino acids. It explains how amino acids function as the building blocks of protein, and lists the metabolic paths of the amino acids, the qualities of the individual amino acids and the disease states in which amino therapy can be helpful.

The author discusses the essential aminos (that the body needs to get from food) and the non-essential ones (that are made in the body), and how these relate and interact with one another. The co-factors (vitamins, minerals and trace elements) of the individual amino acids are covered in detail.

The author provides valuable information on the therapeutic application of amino acid therapy, including a summary of therapeutic dosages and cautions. Some of the uses include treatment of depression (DL-Phenylalanine, L-Tyrosine), insomnia (Tryptophan), cold sores (L-Lycine), detoxification (L-Cysteine, Glutathione) and wound healing (L-Arginine and L-Glutamine).

An appendix provides the amino acid content of certain common foods (besides meat, other excellent sources are eggs, milk, yoghurt and chocolate). The book also provides the contact details of various organisations and contains a thorough index. I also recommend he Amino Revolution by Robert Erdmann and Meirion Jones.

I purchased AROMATHERAPY FOR COMMON AILMENTS for the full page, breath taking photographs of 13 essential oil plants. But - it is much more. Illnesses and ways to heal these illnesses with essential oils are discussed. Massage techniques are illustrated and explained. Safety guidelines are outlined. Recipes for blends are given. This is a good book for the beginning aromatherapist. It can also be useful to the more advanced person. Shirley Price is a professional, practicing aromatherapist. Her love and respect for the profession shines through-out this text. Highly recommend!

The solutions she offers to dealing with problems I still face are helping me cope with my own personal issues. I highly recommend these CDs to anyone who feels adrift in today's society with no obvious place to turn for help.

This was the first book or audio tape I purchased from author Judith Orloff, M.D. She de-mystifies the psychic abilities that lie dormant in each one of us and approaches the subject from a logic point of view. I have since purchased two other books from this author and can't wait for the next one. I am truly impressed with her abilities to teach this subject from the basis that this is a practical sense we all need to engage to enhance our lives. I highly recommend these tapes!

I was so moved when Judith Orloff talked about her experiences growing up in Southern California as an intuitive empath, the years when she turned her back on her intuitive insights in order to practice traditional medicine, working with hospice patients at a VA hospital, helping her mother let go as she was dying or the various interactions with patients in her psychiatric practice. It was all so fascinating. It wasn't until she started discussing how we can also develop our second sight that she lost me. Maybe it's because it came so easily to her while the rest of us must really work at it. She does make you believe that it's all worth it in the end. She has chosen to share her amazing gift with the world and I for one am grateful.

Dr. Judith Orloff is a true medicine woman. A board-certified psychiatrist and psychic from birth, Dr. Orloff shares techniques that foster a right and left brain approach to healing from the intellect and intuitive side. Still a practising psychiatrist, Dr. Orloff offers sound wisdom based on her clinical training for anyone who seeks to enhance their healing practice. What is to be noted about Dr. Orloff is that (A) she was born psychic and it was something passed down from her family, (B) she went through a rigorous medical training and still is willing to be acountable to an authority, and (C) has found a way to harness her gifts with a true spirit of service to others.
