This book introduces the unique and powerful healing properties of crystals. Katrina's healing technique is to put a pattern of stomes, based on intuition, along the different chakras of the recipient. She also integrates many practical therapeutic skills on the crystal healing which enhance the healing effect. When I firstly received the crystal healing in Crystal Academy, I realized the crystal energy can bring me to a different dimension which I can't imagine before. The informationm of the 12 Master Crystals is also advanced material

Infomation is good but organization is wrong

The information about crystals was authentic and acurate but some of the methods were not very safe. Such as when she was speaking of channeling crystals and suggested that you speak with entities you felt around you with out first telling you to place you self in protective light was a dangerous mistake. I only hope no one has hurt them self with this misleading onformation. Although she dose speak of protection she don't put the right kind of stress on it. I guesse she dons't come in contact with unfriedly forces but they are out there and looking for ingnorent victims. The methods of healing in this book is a great way to conduct your healings. I just wish she gave more information on how to heal your self with crystals.

If i can start with the reason i bought the book in the first place, then this is it, I saw this book on the shelf, picked it up and flicked through some pages, now in my mind at that particular moment while flicking the pages i was looking for a layout picture of where placement of crystal need to go on the body, normally i read the reviews on the back cover, but because i didn't find what i was looking for in that book i put it back on the shelf,on my left was the shop assistant and on the other side my mother, when i put this book back on the shelf behind all the other books it was behind when i picked it out, i walked away, and yes it happened, THE BOOK FELL OFF THE SHELF out of it's neat little place and from behind 3 other books that were placed at an angle on the shelf. The other books did not fall, only the one that i had picked up to look at, and it fell with the back cover facing up, and there on the back of the cover was the picture i was looking for, my mother mouthed the very words that this book was trying to tell me BUY ME! and so i did. Back then i was new to the world of crystals and am relatively still the a bit of a novice, but after reading this book i have this yearning to find out everything there is to know about crystals and gemstones. I have read this book twice from cover to cover and still get excited, the explanations are simple the pictures are colourful and the makeup of the crystals and what they can be used for a very detailed. I have not read the other book written by Katrina Rafaell, but will seek to purchase a copy of crytstal enlightment to read.

This is Volume II (1987) in a series of 3 very well written and very useful books by Katrina. Volume I is "Crystal Enlightenment" (19xx)
Volume III is "The Crystalline Transmission" (1990)

Volume II demonstrates some crystal healing stone layouts (which stones to lay where on the body) to channel healing energy through the body to achieve certain outcomes. She also provides a lot of healing information within this volume, such as using crystals in meditation, releasing negative energy, time bridging (past-future), etc. She defines several additional types of crystals: Channeling Crystals, Transmitter Crystals, Window Crystals, Elestial (crystals), (crystal) Laser Wands and how to use them (often to direct the flow of energy through certain points of the body), Earthkeeper Crystals. She covers some miscellaneous tidbits, such as Herkimer Diamonds (from Herkimer, New York), the Tiger's Eye, Opal, and a few other gemstones.

If you are really interested in stones and crystals and their possible relationship to healing (yourself or others), knowledge and so much more, I suggest this series of all 3 books by Katrina. You probably want to read these volumes in order unless you already know some of this energy and crystal stuff. I also suggest "Love Is In The Earth" by Melody. Yes, that is her name, just like music. Once upon a time, I laughed at the thought of people believing crystals were more than just rocks. Now I have wisdom. (We all make mistakes.)

If you don't really understand what the heck I'm talking about, that's OK. But if you are somehow drawn to wearing jewelry made of natural stones, especially in the last several years, or collecting natural stone or crystals because they just feel somehow special to you, or just seem to be all of a sudden interested in stones or crystals, you might want to do some reading about them. Even the polished fine jewelry that many ladies wear are stones and often forms of crystals, such as topaz, peridot, amethyst, and diamonds.

If you can agree to suspend your disbelief briefly enough to read and absorb this material, you can open yourself up to a whole additional level of understanding far beyond what you ever thought possible. Know that no one book or series of books is going to make you a crystal healer or something similar. These books are part of a path of enlightenment for those who are called to receive this special knowledge.

God bless you on your quest for enlightenment. Namaste'

Katrina has been very sincere about working with crystals since prior to their inception as a trendy modality of helaing. A registered nurse by trade, Raphaell has combined crystal helaing with personal coaching to provide a method of more completely addressing the entire being during a crystal healing treatment. Although this book has been geared more towards working with others, any of the practises within Crystal Healing can be applied to personal growth.

The section concerning the Master Crystals is very important indeed. This is the first book to introduce the Earth Keeper crystals, and the mythology of each of the 6 crystal formations introduced is very rich, even if questionably channeled.

The healing process in this work extends into Laying-on-of-Stones, which is very intense, elabourate, and effective. This is one of the books that has left a big influence in our community, and it is very strongly reccomended to all students, especially those seeking an introduction to more advanced techniques.

Pros:
Very professionally recorded
Mr. Harrold is clearly experienced in the process of hypnotherapy

Cons:
For me, it took a few sessions to allow my "unconscious mind" to get used to Mr. Harrold's accent.
You must feel assured that you will not be disturbed or interrupted when you listen to this CD. For me, this diminished the quality of the sessions (not really a con, I guess).

Verdict: Overall, I found this CD to be useful and genuinely effective at improving my self-confidence. I feel I have become more relaxed and at ease, though the changes are indeed very subtle. I recommend this product and also recommend that the user go into the sessions with an open mind and a willingness to allow the process a chance at succeeding.

A Workhorse of a Relaxation CD

I own five CDs by Glenn Harrold. Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti) and Creating Inner Peace & Calm are my two favorites. What I especially like about Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti) is that it is makes no attempt to be anything other than what it is. The music doesn't intrude. The speaker (Glenn Harrold) delivers the hypnotic words in a not-overly-dramatic tone which allows me to use the CD to relax every day, if I wish, without becoming bored with it. And I've been using this CD every week for about three years.

The messages on the CD are unquestionably uplifting and completely logical.

The second sequence (roughly 28 minutes long) is even more unintrusive than the first. It's somewhat similar to the first sequence on Glenn's CD Deep Sleep (Diviniti) (Diviniti) in that it conjurs up few images to stir your imagination and relies more on calming, very slightly confusing - i.e. mesmerizing - words. Since, once a CD has finished playing, my CD player shuts itself off, I use this second sequence by itself to help me relax as I drift off to sleep at night.

Develop Your Self Confidence (Diviniti) (Diviniti) is a subtle masterpiece, useful anytime of day or night when you just want to let go.

Soothing and Helpful - a Mind Switch

If you are plagued with a lack of self-confidence, try this CD. It is not a panacea, but I definitely experienced what can best be described as a mind switch. Mr. Harrold's soft, calm voice is so soothing, and his words are reassuring and comforting.

Am I brimming with cocky self-confidence yet? No, I hope I never will be, and I don't think that is the point of this exercise. But for the first time in years, I feel as if I am on my way to a new (and definitely more confident) way of approaching my life.

As a complement to this CD, I can also recommend "Self Healing with Guided Imagery" by Andrew Weil and Martin Rossman, and "Beverly Hills Hypnosis - Motivation to Move".

Good luck in your own personal quest to find the elusive life balance so many of us seek.

I was skeptical at first when I ordered this CD. I never used a hypnosis CD before and wasn't sure it would work. After using it for the first few days, I started to feel a change from within me, and my confidence in certain areas has improved. The voice of Glenn Harrold is relaxing and has the ring of a trusted friend or collegue. I would suggest Glenn Harrold's recordings to those of you who may question using hypnotic recordings. I've purchased his "Financial Abundance" and "Weight Loss" as well. Both are very good. As a certified health and fitness instructor, the Weight Loss recording is nice as well.

The Bible on How to Become and Stay Healthy According to Cayce
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2007-11-21
This is a wonderful book on how to use the Cayce trance suggestions to maintain a healthy body. The first time I bought it, it happened to arrive while I was suffering with a terrible flu that was going around my community. At the time, my one-month-old baby was being breastfed. I realized I couldn't afford to be sick again with a newborn depending on me, especially since it's not recommended to take medicines while breastfeeding. I also felt wretched because of the painful head pains associated with this particular flu. You can imagine how motivated I was to get and maintain a healthy body.

I began to follow the suggestions in the book immediately--switching to an alkaline-reacting diet, and as soon as I was well enough, incorporating the exercises suggested in the book. These included specific exercises for the morning and others before bed. With two small children, there were many nights I just wanted to crawl in bed, but I kept up with the exercise program even though I was often very tired.

Amazingly, when the next round of flu went through the community, the other members of my family suffered with it but the baby and I sailed through without any symptoms whatsoever. The suggestions in the book, based on Cayce's trance source as put into use by Reilly's expertise as a top-notch physiotherapist, worked!

There's much more in this book than diet and nutrition. There's also the famous Cayce castor oil packs and mixtures of oils for massage recommended for ailments such as arthritis. There's suggestions for increasing beauty and prolonging life.

I like that Reilly quotes from many of the actual Cayce readings and that the publisher included the number of the readings. Many books about Cayce, such as The Edgar Cayce Remedies, which I also like because it is written by a doctor, refer to the Cayce readings but seldom quote them and if they do, they neglect to add the reading number.

Today, it is so easy for members of Edgar Cayce's A.R.E. to look up the readings online that I appreciate the reading numbers if I want to consult the rest of the psychic reading.

Reilly was recommended by Cayce in his psychic readings. Reilly thought that Cayce must be a doctor because his diagnoses and physiotherapy suggestions were so accurate. You can imagine Reilly's surprise when he discovered that Cayce was not a doctor but a psychic.

Reilly is a real authority. He trained many physiotherapists and massage therapists. Edgar Cayce's A.R.E.'s health facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia is named for him and Cayce.

If you want to know how to do many of the therapies suggested in the Cayce readings, this is the book for you. If want to understand Cayce and Reilly's insights into the workings of the body, get this book. If you prefer to keep healthy instead of cure illness, you need this book.

Great resource for learning about thai basics to experienced level. Would reccommend to any who were looking for a Thai book. I have read and re-read this book so many times that I need a new copy. It is my favorite reference book for Thai massage! The photos and descriptions are great, with excellent correlations to yoga poses throughout. This book depicts the Northern style of Thai Massage and refers to it as an important branch of traditional medicine, as opposed to just another spa treatment. The author lived in Thailand and spent time teaching at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai.

Okay, here is the deal. I have read a gazillion books on Thai massage. Okay, maybe not quite that many, but sometimes it feels like it. For a long time I wished and wished that someone would write a book that went beyond the initial basic sequence that is taught in so many schools. Then I found the Encyclopedia of Thai Massage. It led me to contact the author, train extensively with him, return to Thailand for even deeper training, and open a Thai massage school. Yes, this book was the catalyst for life change. Have I mentioned that it's the best one out there? Nothing nothing nothing replaces hands on training with a qualified teacher for learning Thai massage - books can be no more than reminders and supplemental material to real training. This said, Pierce's book is the best one out there in the english language that has yet been written.

This book takes you from start to finish of a full body Thai massage routine. The descriptions and pictures are very detailed and easy to understand. This book gives all the information from the setting of the room to contraindications for the novice or experienced practicioner. He also gives the tradition and a knowledge of Thai culture. I have recently been to Thailand to study massage, it has changed my bodywork practice for the better ( I'm a massage therapist/ yoga teacher) and it is because of this book and its author.

ESSIAC: A BEAUTIFUL HERBAL FORMULA + THE POLITICS OF MODERN MEDICINE
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-11-11
Western Medicine is a tremendous resource...Some parents would walk 2 days to get to a hospital for antibiotics for a sick child. What a miracle! Yet even there, it is easy to forget that even Penicillin is produced by Penicillium chrysogenum, a type of Fungi, i.e. it was developed by studying Nature.

We need to re-embrace nature-based solutions to health care, and we desperately need to protect our Rain Forests, where so many natural medicines are still waiting to be discovered. ( See the inspired genius PAUL STAMETS, Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World, for more on this topic)

What does this have to do with this book? Well, this book clearly and fairly discusses a fairly unknown herbal treatment, which has remarkably helped many, many cancer patients; it can even be taken together with conventional treatment. There is no silver bullet for all cancers, but everyone should know about this beautiful elegant herbal remedy!

ESSIAC TEA was used to treat Cancer patients by RENE CAISSE, a beautifully dedicated nurse in Canada who discovered that one of her patients had been cured of Breast Cancer, from this traditional Ojibwe, First Nation tonic. The story of RENE CAISSE, is extremely moving. She only treated people in late stage cancer, who had a note from their doctors, saying there was nothing more Western Medicine could do, AND SHE DID IT FOR FREE!

Still, she was hounded by the Government, and the Conventional Medical Establishment, even though some doctors, including President Kennedy's personal physician, honored and recognized her work.

Read this book if you or a loved one is dealing with Cancer. Read this book if you want to see a prime example of herbal natural treatments being suppressed instead of honored and embraced. We need all sorts of treatments to help us be well. May we honor the new age of Complimentary Medicine...honoring technological advancements, yes, but also Honoring the gifts of our Indigenous Cultures, and also HONORING the amazing gifts of Nature, which must be protected much more fiercely than we are doing now. PLEASE PROTECT THE RAIN FORESTS & MOTHER EARTH!...

BLESSINGS ON YOUR HEALING JOURNEY!

Before I read Expect a Miracle I was in constant pain from a Worker's Comp injury. Everything required authorization by the insurance. I was referred to a surgeon who immediately wanted to operate to fuse two vertebrae in my neck. This terrified me but I felt trapped and limited in my choice of treatment options. After I read Expect a Miracle by Tel Franklin, M.D. which explains both conventional and alternative treatments and how to develop "appreciative dialogue" with everyone involved in your "healing journey" I became empowered. I coordinated many different treatment options as suggested in his book. Through the workbook format of the book I was able to evaluate each option. This book gave me control of my life again. Dr Franklin helps you to feel good about yourself, your choices in life and makes you aware of all the little miracles we experience in everyday life - the real priorities. I chose to have a successful surgery and am now considering acupuncture as an alternative to steroids for my son's asthma. This book is filled with so many positve success stories I recommend it to everyone. It is so uplifting you can't put it down and the workbook sections are easy, fun and insightful.

Dr. Franklin's book has offerred me the opportunity to enhance dialogue and relationships I have with my patients in addition to revamping my own personal outlook and choices. It is an excellent resource and should be on the shelf of patients and provider alike.

The book shows a practical way to discuss the inner self in the medical process of health and/or healing. It is wonderfully written in that the workbook section gives a step-by-step plan that requires journal writings. These are done in a positive way.

The bottom line is that this is how medicine should be practiced not only by doctors and health care providers but especially by patients. We learn how patients through Appreciative Dialogue have postive choices for optimum health.

After reading this book, I am not surprised to learn that Dr. Tel Franklin is ranked in the top 50 physicians in California.

This is much better than all Dr. Andrew Weil's books.

This is the best book I have read in a long while. This is exactly whats happening in our world today and people need to know this truth. I was thrilled to see that Ms Gangi could write such an eye opener about holistic health. Connecting the body, mind and spirit in a natural way to heal all three. I found the section about children was even relevant to me today in my later years. It has been such a exciting book packed full of knowledge and insight. This one goes to all my children and grandchildren for Christmas this year!

This book continues where Book One left off and explains in greater detail the whys and hows to self-empowerment. Rayna's writing is concise and poetic and provokes emotional responses that lead you from your mind and body into your heart and soul, and you just feel that what she says is Truth. In a world of medications and operations, depression, sexual dysfunction, degenerative disease and violent children, Forget the Cures, Find the Cause, Book Two - The Circle is an inspiration as well as a workable tool in helping us to reclaim and regain our God given right to health and happiness. A perfect gift for everyone, especially parents and grandparents as we are the keepers of our children and our next generation.

If you're a firm believer in modern-day medicine and have no interest in taking care of your own body, then this book is not for you. But many people today are beginning to question the ability of their physicians to treat their whole body rather than just a set of symptoms, and they're looking for ways to take their health care into their own hands.

Rayna M. Gangi, a holistic healer with native American roots, begins this volume by providing considerable evidence that today's children are suffering much greater health risks than those of several decades ago, with the increase in vaccinations and behavior modification drugs. Chemicals in common household products and in the water they drink expose them to numerable toxins. And their diets are suffering due to soft drinks, sugary products and artificial sweeteners and colors.

She also explores the over-vaccination of pets and the poor quality of most pet foods. While the author doesn't mention the food poisoning which recently devastated many pet owners, that incident certainly does make one question what our pets are really eating.

As the circle implies, our journey begins with childhood, and this book wouldn't be complete unless it traveled the full arc into aging and death. The author touches on the concept of living life in circle, and living in harmony with the earth and its cycles. In a well-written and well-documented book, she shows us where we can make changes in our lives, so we can experience better health and happiness.

Rayna M. Gangi writes with warmth and compassion. She encourages us to ask questions, and to notice how our bodies feel when we bombard them with chemicals and mistreat them. Ultimately, she sees a world where we all respect our bodies, our environment, and each other.

This book gives a deeper understading of aromatherapy. Essential oils are much more than something you use for a certain symptom, and Valerie Ann Worwood gets that message through in her book.

As a store owner I offer products for easing everyday life. I am always reading to further my knowledge on how to serve my customers better. The Fragrant Mind offers all kinds of information on how to mix certain scents and how our mood can change for the better by inhaling certain scents. This book is full of excellent information on aromatherapy and how our brains respond to it. This book is a MUST for the well seasoned or the newbies.

A must have for anyone interested in Aromatherapy!

I have bought a few other books on Aromatherapy, over the years, which have given me an introduction into Aromatherapy. None of them compare to the books by Valerie Ann Worwood! I just bought her books "The Fragrant Mind" and "The Complete Book of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy", and they are wonderfully informative as well as a pleasure to read. I highly recommend both of these books for anyone who is interested in learning all that they can about Aromatherapy.

Focusing on "The Fragrant Mind", it is an amazing book! There is so much wonderful information, great recipes for various blends, a fun and enlightening look at the the different invdividual personality types and the different essential oils personality profiles, not to mention wonderful Quick Reference Charts.

This book does so much more than tell about a couple of uses for a few basic essential oils, it shows how essential oils can truly effect our emotional state. It also helps explain why we are drawn more to certain scents, and how our personality plays a big role in this. This book is definitely a must have!

I have not had the good fortune to see a copy of Worwood's other books The Complete Guide to Essential Oils, which I understand is a bible of sorts, and Aromantics, whose title intrigues me very much. The Fragrant Mind is daring in the sense that it espouses a very unique theory, that of classifying personalities based on the scents they prefer. I may not necessarily totally agree with Worwood, and I have had difficulty figuring out what personality type I have based on her system, but this book is definitely interesting reading, especially if you're an aromatherapy fan like I am. Buy it if only to round out your aromatherapy library. You will find yourself picking it up from time and time to read up on her one-of-a-kind personality descriptions.

I like this book. I like that there are recipes for mixing essential oils for an effect. But I'd like to know more about how particular oils affect physical ailments and less about the author's categories of personalities.

A friend at work is very much into this type of healing, so I decided I'd get the book and read up on it. Alternative health care modalities are very in vogue at many hospitals right now.

What I found most appealing about the book was that the author seems very sincere in her approach to health and well being. She doesn't try to persuade the reader to alter his or her beliefs, she simply tells those who want to learn about the techniques how to proceed.

Most importantly she discusses what should and should not be done in a healing session. She cautions the practitioner to ask the client if they wish to be touched before doing so. She notes that she sends a letter explaining what the client can expect by way of procedures so that they are comfortable from the outset. She also points out that not all clients and practitioners will necessarily click; that clients may or may not feel better after a treatment.

Probably the best advice she gives is that death is sometimes the outcome of the healing process. This is very difficult to understand and to accept no matter whether the practitioner is a medical doctor, a nurse or a healer. Sometimes release from the misery of disease is the greatest blessing to the sufferer.

While I'm not certain where I'm at with this type of thing--I probaby fit into the author's skeptics catagory--I know many people do, and since as a nurse I deal with patients who are sometimes dying, sometimes in pain, sometimes confused or anxious, I am accepting of any treatment that will help that person.

A nice little book.

Echo Bodine has given the world a gift with her guidance and knowledge of healing from her own experience. This is a step-by-step guide anyone can follow. Echo makes you realize we all have the gift of healing and we need to tap into the universal energy available to us all and share it with those who seek.

Thank you Echo for reminding me to use that energy and keep it flowing. Your book opened my eyes to the fact that I had been holding back the flow.

I have perused many books about magnet therapy and found this one to be the best. Unlike other books on the market covering this topic, "Healing Magnets" explains the complicated science behind magnetic healing clearly and concisely. I appreciated the comprehensive documentation and practical applications for a therapy that has worked for me but remained a mystery as to why until I read this book. I encourage anyone who is using magnets now or is wondering if they should for health reasons, to get this book and use it.

Sherry Kahn has written a very readable, thorough and informative book on a complex subject. As a fellow medical writer who has authored a book on the perils of electromagnetic pollution and our ever-increasing ambient radiofrequency exposures, I often get questions from people who are confused about how magnets can be used therapeutically if EMFs are supposed to be dangerous. Ms. Kahn sorts through these, and many other questions well, giving the reader a comprehensive understanding. Although caution is warranted with very strong magnetic fields (such as those used in MRI diagnostics), the human anatomy has been found to be fantastically responsive to low-level steady-state magnetic fields. The problems arise in energy fields with the introduction of artificial characteristics not found in nature -- alternating current, digital pulsing, unusual wave forms, and exposure strengths unlike anything we've encountered before in our evolutionary history. We -- and all other species -- have evolved within the protective cradle of the earth's own steady-state magnetic fields. How arrogant to assume it wouldn't be an important factor in our well-being, or that abnormal inbalance wouldn't adversely impact our health. Although energy medicine is considered ancient knowledge in eastern cultures, it is only now coming to the foreground in western medine. But energetic healing modalities can be quite powerful. People should not use strong magnets willy-nilly or without guidance. That's where Ms. Kahn's book comes in. No one considering magnets should be without it. For a slim volume, it packs a lot of punch.

If you're going to buy one book on magnetic therapy, this is the one. It is very clear and makes the science easy to understand. It is also very well organized so that you can find out what is known about the use of magnets for various conditions. I found the buying and treatment guidelines particularly useful.

If you want to quickly get your arms around magnet therapy, read this book. Having first used magnets a few years back, I knew they worked - but I didn't know how or why. There was very little accessible information on the topic then, and I ended giving up on understanding why I was having such great results. This book does a fantastic job of explaining the hows and whys in language I can easily understand. So many people say there's not much evidence that magnet therapy works. Maybe not yet in the US, but this book summarizes studies from around that world that prove that it helps a far wider range of conditions than I ever imagined.

It's comprehensive, well-researched and easy to understand. Two thumbs up!
