It's so important for parents to be educated about vaccinations. Unfortnately it's up to us to do our own research - even
the best pediatricians aren't always up to date on the latest vaccination research. The more you read and research, the more
you realize how important it is to do so and not just blindly follow the recommended schedule - there are so many small things
you can do when vaccinating to make sure your kids are safe that I would never have known w/o my research. This book is an
easy to read guide that takes you thru each vaccination, the pros & cons and really helps to educate parents. It does lean
a bit towards the anti-vaccination opinion however it's still incredibly edcational. I've ordered a number of books and videos
so that I can get all sides and would recommend that other parents do the same. I would highly recommend this book!

This book is thorough, articulate and provides mountains of information in a concise, easy way for anyone to understand. A
must read BEFORE you have a child and are bombarded with all the protocol that can often confuse and intimidate. This has
been long needed!

This book is great because she is both a doctor and holistic. She lists what is in the vaccines and their issues while at
the same time explaining all about the dangers of the disease and treatments so the reader can make their own decision.

I got scared about all this vaccination-autism fuss, and this book is very informative about vaccinations, it gives you tips
and all the information to make a decision and even investigate more about all this. I feel more prepared and confident when
I talk to my pediatrician; we have to take all this very seriously because we are our children's voice.

This book was great for me; it gave me information that I didn't find in other places. However, I can not say that it is
impartial; it tries to correct for the widespread misinformation. It might be a good introduction to the material for some
but definitely not for all, because of its bias. It can definitely help you choose what is best for your child as an individual,
but it can not serve as your only source in making that choice (unless you are sold on not vaccinating at all). It simply
doesn't have enough details about the actual ingredients to weigh the risks with the benefits; the author seems to conclude
that none of the vaccines are worth the risks. As someone who has chosen to selectively vaccinate my children, I did find
the book helpful. The first source I use is Dr. Sears' The Vaccine Book because it has factual information about the ingredients.
This book is the second source I use for a little more information on the issue. I don't think this book really lives up
to its subtitle "practical medical and natural ways to protect your child." Also, I agree with some other criticisms about
her use of language. From an editorial standpoint, this book is not a final copy. It is only a revision or two away, but
it is not properly polished. Quite a shame. I am still grateful I have this source.

Jamie Murphy has done an excellent job covering the essence of the vaccine debate, from how vaccines are made and their noxious
ingredients to the history of this barbaric procedure and why it continues to this day when blood letting and other deadly
medical procedures of the past have been discontinued. One of the more valuable aspects of the book is his coverage of the
effect of the measles vaccine on disease incidence and the change from the killed virus vaccine to the live virus vaccine
used today in combination with mumps and rubella. It is a valuable peek into history that is not summarized so well elsewhere.
Being well-footnoted and indexed makes this important book great for referencing specifics when sharing this information with
others.

I felt that Murphy doesn't even try to be balanced. He uses words like "witches brew" and "cauldron" to conjure negative
images. Also, the book is somewhat outdated, even though this last reprint was 2005. The most recent information I saw was
1989, and he gives facts that are outdated, including that there is no chickenpox vaccine. Now, all this is coming from a
person who is skeptical about vaccines. I just didn't find the book tasteful, or all that helpful. Much better is "The Baccine
Book" by Robert W. Sears. He gives facts, but helps you to come to your own decision regarding each individual vaccine rather
than making blanket statements about all vaccines.

When I was pregnant with my first baby I knew that I didn't want to immunize any of my children. Up until I read this book
I had really no "proof" that my confictions were correct. Thanks to this book, I began a serious investigation into immunizations.
I now have tangible info to share with pro-vaccine parents. It only takes one light in a dark world to bring truth!

The whole immunization issue is so one sided. This book finally gives the other perspective, in an easy to read format.
From an educator, and parent's standpoint the book is convincing that immunizing your child is not the only way. No one
can force you to immunize your child if you have a belief it's not right. Read this book and finally become educated, confident
and informed!

Excellent work by Mr. Miller. This is a well footnoted book, that gets to the point quickly. There is hardly a wasted sentence.
Almost every sentence has one or two footnotes to back up his points.
Mr. Miller summarizes research he found in medical journals and other well researched vaccine books. His conclusion, vaccines don't work, and there are no long term studies to prove their saftey.
The only thing that bothers me is that he wants to seem to remain neutral on the subject by stating it is the parents choice to vaccinate. I don't think vaccine poison should be available to parents or doctors to give to innocent children. I'd also like to see the vaccine pushing criminals pay for their crimes. We're talking about thousands of debilitated and murdered children.
Still, you cannot go wrong with Mr. Millers book. It's very accurate and a quick read.

This book gives good education about vaccines. You cannot believe everything the FDA tells you. Working in a vet clinic for
the last 7 years, has taught me about vaccines and the truth that you are not told. It really is about the money, and the
kickbacks. I hope they write about the truth with pets and vaccines. Please read all you can about vaccinating, before you
ever vaccinate your CHILD or pet.

Note: vaccination and vaccine are pretty much interchangeable in the review below.
I've been reading a lot about vaccinations lately, spurred on by a paper on the subject I wrote for a class. There are so many books on vaccinations, so it was very difficult to figure out the best books to read in the relatively short time I had to do the research for the paper. I feel very lucky to have found this book in the library. If there was one book I'd want to own on the topic, if there was one book I'd recommend to parents or anyone else who wanted to get some very important information about vaccinations, this would be the book. I did not use the word "facts" in the last sentence deliberately, though this book contains many well-documented "facts" and is very carefully footnoted. I prefer the word information because from my research I am still quite puzzled as to what really are the (absolute) "facts" about vaccinations.
In any event, in a little more than 100 pages the author does a fantastic job of presenting his solid case against vaccinations. He explains very well multiple times the "fact" that the incident of many infectious diseases was way, way down before the advent of vaccines. He documents very well many of the dangers of vaccinations, how a small but significant number of people (usually children, of course) who are vaccinated actually get the disease, to say nothing of the children who are maimed or even die after taking vaccinations. Also, he doesn't speculate about, for example, whether the mercury preservative causes autism, he simply presents to the best information available. How the author is able to present so much information and statistics in so few pages amazes me.
For those who criticize the book for its lack of balance, I would say that the point of the book is to present as much anti-vaccination material as possible, because anyone who wants to have an informed opinion on the subject needs to consider the arguments of the anti-vaccination side very carefully. To the point, the book has 2 excellent forwards, both of which are written by MD's, and one of them states up front that he has always been very much in favor of vaccinations. If a reader wants a more balanced view, there are many books that are pro-vaccine, and you can always go to the CDC's website and read that there is absolutely nothing wrong with vaccines, no matter what evidence there is to the contrary.
Maybe we will never know the truth about how well vaccinations work, if for no other reason that the infinite varieties of people's biological systems will cause many different kinds of reactions to what vaccines and their (sometimes unfortunate) additives do. Maybe we can't know the answer to the most important question, which is whether vaccination = immunization; and if vaccinations really do work, then for how many people. Excellent books like this one at least challenge us to question authority, and then we can surely make more informed decisions.

One wonders why there seems to be an industry that picks on the single most effective public health measure in human history,
vaccines. Vaccination ranks up there with good nutrition and flush toilets as the main reasons we are alive and healthy today.
Mr. Miller plays with our collective amnesia for what it was actually like before widespread vaccination was adopted in the
20th Century. I guess it will actually take a series of epidemics before people realize that everyone should be vaccinated.
This book is filled with pseudo-science, blatant falsehood, and limited understanding of what these diseases are actually like. It would be almost laughable it it wasn't so dangerous by discouraging people to vaccinate their children.
