Lots of good basic information

Just as good for adult tummies as is for children's! Lot's of good basic information on how the gi tract works and how this can cause/affect other health conditions. It's funny because we spend alot of time on researching what kind of carseat to get or what type of educational activities are best for our child, yet we seem to not think twice about their gi tracts until it becomes a major issue. My child is recovering from autism thanks to lots of dietary research and the Specific Carb Diet(and help from all his therapists and teachers). This book seems to have a good overview of everything I've read. I'm recommending it to anyone I know who has gi trouble or autoimmune issues. Like any holistic type book it recommends all kinds of supplements, but I found that does not seem to take away from the book at all.

I bought these books about a month ago and am absolutely delighted with them. The recipe's are easy and delicious. I've only tried 6 or 7 of the recipe's so far and have not been disappointed yet. The Meatballs are delicious, as is the Moussaka. Well Done Jeanette. When is the next book due.

My seven year old daughter loves this book she is using it as her guide to get her "honey" (my husband) into shape. She has walked around holding it fussing at her father since I read it to her at bedtime. She reads passages to him and leaves notes in the refrigerator and pantry for him.

A full picture of our food system written for kids!

A book that will help children gain a full picture of our food system and its implications for the environment. It explores the connections between what we eat, our health and the environment, through what happens to our food from the farm to the store (processing, transporting, packaging). Finally the author proposes the "5N's" to help us make better food choices for our health and the environment.

I bought this book for my DD to entertain her on plane rides, and it's become a favorite for both my DDs. It's a great book that's hands-on and my girls are learning about colors, sorting and identifying fruits, veggies as well as other foods that are in the book.

Great Bilingual Books!

I have Eating in bilingual versions of Chinese and Arabic. Thank god someone is putting out books for bilingual children. Learning literacy in the native language and in English increases comprehension and makes it easier for children to read. Terrific! It's a very nice book for emergent readers whose native language is English too!

The Green Diet Special

This is a book that is really great for anybody that wants their kids or families to be on a plant-based diet. It's really a one of a kind find: you get all the info on eating awareness -scientific facts and tips on how to get the most out of your food, cooked or raw, fresh, wholesome, etc. plus how to do food combining, how to make fresh sprouts, and great "concept" recipes that you can make a zillion different ways -breakfast, lunches, dinners and snacks. The illustrations from Camille Rendal are so precious -and kids (or grownups) can color almost every page. This book isn't preachy: but it definitely shows anybody how they can be healthy, keep their families healthy, AND how to keep Mother Earth healthier at the same time. Really recommend it!

Eating Right from 8 to 18

This book educates parents on children's nutrition, so that they can steer them away from a diet of junk food and fast food, and provide them with nutritious meals that will appeal to even the pickiest eaters. This age group is important, as this is the time when children start developing life-long habits. The authors also offer specific solutions to issues of special concern, such as eating disorders, chronic fad dieting, and more.
