funny error in titleReview Date: 2008-07-30
In the hopes that someone will read this-- the title of the book with the error in the title (Leon Speroff's textbook) is Clinical Gynecologic Endocrinology and Infertility. That much is true. The subtitle is wrong. It is not, I repeat not, subtitled: :Cervical Spine Research Editorial Committee. The cervix Dr Speroff treats is in the pelvis, not the neck. Please correct this.
Sorry to notify you in this roundqbout way, but I don't know any other way to let your web masters know of this error. This "review" obviously is not for publication.
Sincerely, Irene M Piekarski, M.D.

book review critiqueReview Date: 2000-08-23
Traumatic inuries (i.e. fracture, dislocation, etc.) and soft tissue injuries are addressed as well as diagnoses and mechanisms of injury.
Medical legal issues are addressed and relevant information is presented eloquently for the physician.
A must for any clinician treating the Cervical Spine!Review Date: 2001-03-05
Among therapeutic approaches covered are manipulation, soft-tissue techniques, the Mckenzie protocol, sensorimotor rehabilitation, cervical stabilization, exercises, psychological management, and surgical.
Clinical conditions include Cervical trauma, motor vehicle collisions, headaches, Cervical radicular and pseudoradicular syndromes, joint dysfunction, myofascial syndromes, vertigo, disequilibrium, orofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, and neuropsychological dysfunction.
Of all the fine information contained in this work, my favorite portions consist of the quite frequent "Clinical Pearls" interspersed thoughout each chapter. These are Dr. Murphy's own personal commentaries, practical clinical tips, and observations. They add immeasurably to the usefulness of the information in daily practice.

A terrific, although technical, overview of the C-spineReview Date: 1999-02-03
Although the language is technical, with a little effort it is understandable. And while the price is steep, it is worth every penny. Read this book before deciding for or against any cervical spine treatment

Valuable TextReview Date: 2007-01-29
Written in a prose that avoids stifling-academia and over-technicality , the text delivers much advice gained from years of collective surgical experience. Many of the contributors cite well-known peer-reviewed audits, strengthening the value of their opinion.
Notable omissions are issues on disc arthroplasty complications, on sacral insufficency in long instrumented spines and on problems using bone graft substitutes. Sufficient power of analysis must be available through an appropriate pool of patients, a trend of practice and a period of time before these current issues may be discussed and I would expect them to be featured in the next edition.
