This is a very updated review of how to manage difficult cases and deal with complications in phacoemulsification. The book
is well organized in sections, and the items very helpfull for anyone interested in phaco surgery.
The cd-rom illustrates selected cases, but i think it could be better if deals with all scenarios in the book.

Though there are sections about cataract surgery, this excellent book will probably appeal to a pretty limited group of Eye
M.D.s due to the subspecialization. It is aimed at people performing anterior segment surgery, but who do corneal and refractive
surgery as well. Useful tips include gluing corneal ulcers and perfs, PTK, and PRK and LASIK. There are also tips for full-thickness
grafts. Very useful and highly recommended. I hope the authors come out with a new edition in the future.

I strongly recommend this book for anyone considering cataract surgery. I wish I had read it before having surgery, I would
have had a much better idea of what was going on. The illustrations are very clear and the writers sense of humor is appreciated.
Also, the short history of cataract surgery makes one feel lucky to be living today with surgeons having so many sophisticated
tools.

If you are contemplating surgery for cataract removal, this book will answer all your questions. It explains how the human
eye works, the causes and symptoms of cataracts, the removal of a cataract and insertion of the implant, and the recovery
after surgery. The guide also explains the differences between the multifocal lens implants currently available that can reduce
your dependency on glasses after surgery. The co-author, Dr. David Chang, was my cataract surgeon so I was fortunate to have
one of the best surgeons remove my cataracts (from both eyes).

First, it's not a very long book, but it manages to convey a lot. Easy to read, with no sophistications, it speaks from a
down to earth point of view, about less down to earth areas of our existence (such as self knowledge and divinity). I recommend
it to anyone who want to explore his own dimensions without risking to get lost.

Doris Price Fisher sure can tell a story. I laughed, I cried and I learned a lot. The depression era was a hair before my
time so it was interesting to see how simple folks got along. Especially curious to me was how they stored their big quilt
racks in small places. I would recommend this book to anyone and am ordering one for a friend right now. I appreciate that
she shared her life with us- The good, the bad and the bald faced honesty that gives us permission to own our own history-
the good - the bad- well you know...
I wish she would write more stories for us. Charming and passionate as this book reads.

This text is one of the first comprehensive "how to texts" on the correction of astigmatism. Dr. Kershner, a noted author,
ophthalmic surgeon and internationally acclaimed educator, carefully enlists experts in the field of refractive surgery to
share their methods for the correction of astigmatism. Using astigmatic keratotomy, the contributors detail their experience
and layout a "step by step " approach to adding this very important procedure into the realm of every cataract and refractive
surgeon. I especially appreciated the appendices at the end of the textbook which offers nomograms and "how to" operative
worksheets. A five star text in my eyes!
