I recommend this book to anyone who even likes fire trucks a little bit. It has over 85 awesome color pics of all different
kinds of fire trucks in every color imaginible. I especially enjoyed the section on special units. Also, there are sidebars
covering such topics as quints and squad companies. Also, if you like this book, be sure to check out "Fire Trucks In Action"
by George Hall- They're both great books!

loved it! He has barely put it down since he got this and has been raving about it to the other guys at the firehouse!

I love this book. I've been fascinated by fire engines & trucks since my earliest memory of my mother taking my younger brother
to a San Jose fire station in the early 60s to get shots.
This book was written by someone who is truly enthusiastic about the subject matter. Great history. Great technical info. Beautiful pix. If you like fire engines, you'll love this book.

This big board book is perfect for your toddler in the car or at home and will keep them happy and busy, how can you not love
that! The blue steering wheel on the front of this book moves and can be played with on any of the 5 pages in this book. In
typical DK book fashion there are lots of real photos of cars with their names and things to do. There is a small fold out
map, there are 2 pages dedicated to car colors & counting, 2 pages on opposites with flaps, Night Time Driving. The last page
has a pop up adjoined bus, ambulance and trump truck.
I can't say enough terrific things about DK books, they just put out awesome books! They also have the best scratch and Sniff books that don't wear out!

This is very excellent book. I recommend that you should read it so you can have an idea when the bad saturation comes. The
book contains about 100 scenarios. Most scenarios presents with the to-the-point photos. So, you can easily follow the author
situations. The book divides into 4 parts. First, nature and weather -related part shows you such as how to get stuck from
mud. Second, saturation emergencies demonstrated how to steer out of skid. Third, mechanical emergencies gave an idea such
as how to jump-start your car. Last, worst-case driving emergencies shows you the saturation that rarely faces like how to
jump from a moving car (except you are a stunt professional). I gave it five stars.

There is NO WAY that I would buy a used car without first consulting The Used Car Reliability and Safety Guide. The author
has done a spectacular job of summarizing the common complaints actual drivers have had with their cars, so that you'll know,
right up front, what sorts of problems to expect, and which cars to avoid.
No question -- this is THE car guide to buy when looking for a used car

An absolute MUST for new riders, and a highly recommended read for all riders that have not had the chance to take the MSF
course. Teaches you things that you just dont learn riding around and practicing on your own. Many lessons on slow speed
maneuvering and in town riding were most accidents and problems arise.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation does great work in training new riders and aiding experienced riders to maintain their skills.
This book covers the "how to" of safe motorcycle operation and riding. It goes into much greater depth than the MSF's Basic
Rider Course and the course materials. It well supplements and fleshes out the topics covered in MSF's courses with well written
and useful information. I highly recommend it for every biker.

After being off a motorcycle for several years I wanted a guide to review basic riding and safety techniques while waiting
to get into the the MSF Basic Riders Course. This filled the bill and also helped review for the MVD test. Good level of detail
and style of writing. Definitely recommend.

I find this book a wonderful all-around reference to the above vehicles. The book contains photos and info on the best of the breed of tankers, support, rescue, etc. The author went to the large cities and basically "peeked into the firehouse" to see what they have and what they used it for.
Methods and procedures are discussed such as how to hook up hoses to hydrants, drive to the scene, and conduct firefighting or rescue operations to name a few.
The author was also there for many major fires and rescue work in several cities so the photos are taken at great "frontline" angles and not behind some crowd. Also, the captions are specific and describes what the photo shows and is about. It's not "Four rescue trucks at a downtown accident," BUT "This is a pretty rare scene where four out of five NYFD rescue trucks show up for the construction accident. You can see the debris lying on the street in the background. One person was killed in this accident."
The best part I find is the explanations. As I read, I have questions which the author seems to predict and answer. Do tankers run to the water source with lights and sirens? Why does some cities run ladders and others towers? Do cities paint their trucks orange? Why don't firemen ride standing on the rear bumper? Why do rural towns have better vehicles than large cities? All these questions the author answered.
Highly recommend for the fire vehicle and modeler fan. A great book to learn both from text, photos, and quotes.
