As a personal trainer and athlete this book is wonderful. I can
really get the bird's eye view on a women's muscles.

An exploration of the dark sides. Very disquieting images. Addictive stuff.

Kenneth Macksey knows what he writing about, which is a small British unit battle in Normany during the days of the bocage fighting. He gives a coherent look at the tactics of both the Brits and the Germans and takes us down to the squad level to look at how the soldier reacts. This is where it happened and he gives a good taste of what it must have been like.

Beautiful pictures of dozens of castles in full color, with 3 panoramic foldouts. Also contains a three page glossary with 9 color pics of selected terms. No floorplans, no maps, no sketches or diagrams to speak of. But it does a good job of the history of castles and showcases many of them.

Some of my favorite castles in the book are: Eileen Donan in Scotland; Krak des Chevaliers in the holyland; Alcazar of Segovia in Spain; Burg Eltz in Germany; Raglan Castle in Wales; Craigievar Castle in Scotland; Chambord in France; Bodiam castle in England; and of course, Neushwanstein in Bavaria, Germany.

There are many more, but if those don't turn you on, nothin will.

A fascinating inside look at President Truman's seizure of the steel mills during the Korean War and the constitutional crisis that followed. Westin pieces together bits and pieces of key legal briefs, Truman's memoirs, and an account of the social and political forces operating at the time of the seizure. If you ever wanted to know what the key actors were really thinking and what happened after the Supreme Court declared Truman's action unconstitutional, this book is a must read.

This is a great book if you're looking to improve your skills in the reading area, or if you're looking to get into studio work. Tommy shares his knowledge generously again, and as usual, theres' some of his amusing stories from over his career.
This book, along with For Guitar Players Only, will round out your guitar method books nicely.

Think of this as a sort of Idiot's Guide to Homebuilding. If you're not already fluent in building terminology, you should get this book before you remodel, flip, or plan a new house. It's thin and will easily fit in your back pocket, so you can take it with you when you go to talk to your architect, builder, designer, or contractor. You'll you will have a much better idea what they're trying to explain to you, or can flip through until you find a picture of what you're asking for.

The book covers all major home structural elements, from roofs to toilets. It's massively illustrated, with just enough words thrown in to explain the main concepts. The focus is on materials you will see, such as doors, windows, and countertops. If you want a lot more depth, try "Graphic Guide to Interior Details for Builders and Designers," by Rob Thallon. If you need to know how to frame a wall, or know the difference between king, jack, and cripple studs, try "Adding On: How to Design & Build a Beautiful Addition to Your Home," by Rodale.

I strongly recommend this book for every homeowner.

Peter Rabe brings readers a treat with two mystery novels with noir inspirations combined under one cover. "Anatomy of a Killer" follows hitman Sam Jordan. Good at his job, he slips up and makes the gravest error one can make in line of work - becoming attached to another human being. "A Shroud for Jesso"is the story of Jack Jesso dealing with a boss who wants him dead and a business deal which is far from on the level. Both of these original stories by Peter Rabe are engaging from beginning to end, making "Anatomy of a Killer & A Shroud for Jesso" an ideal pick for those looking for a solidly written and thoroughly entertaining read.
